I took it to see Doctor Jim…read more Truth be told, it was the first time I'd been a big girl and took my own car in to see something done to it. 26 and I'm finally not calling my dad to fix my issues. Go me! Anyway, I took the Yaris in because the brakes were screaming and I didn't want them to stop working and make me the one to scream. Jimmy took care of me and the car and made some good recommendations for keeping her in good health going forward. Seems I've been a bit of a slacker, so the price tag was a tag high, but nothing was individually outrageously priced. When you put it all together (if I was clever I wouldn't have had to pay it all at once and could have done it over the year), my credit card was the one making the noise. Jim and his team fixed me up, though, all in the same day, and with a smile on their faces. Sitting in the garage smelling waiting room was actually pretty entertaining. There's a pamphlet, picture, or poster on practically every inch of wall space. I felt like a kid, twisting and turning to look at everything. Having an iPhone with Words With Friends on it didn't hurt either. All in all a great experience and I'll be back (not too long from now since I'm a responsible adult and all!)

After paying $590.00 on determining the issue…read morewith my engine light, I was advised I would need to replace "camshaft positioning sensor" which cost $144.00 and labour will be 4.5 hours which comes to a grand total of $830.00. Instead I obtained the camshaft position sensor from the local dealership for $110.00 and paid a competent reliable mechanic $250.00 for the replacement. So, basically saved $500.00 dollars. I would not recommend these mechanics for any out of towners. As I was out of town and probably explains the high cost charges. ;(

He spoke to me this way in front of another customer, and it was embarrassing. I wrote them a note afterwards to tell the owner I had a negative experience, and they never responded. I guess they're ok with this behaviour or he is the owner. Anyways, I would not recommend wasting your time going there for a quote, especially if you are a woman.

I went to Stagra several months ago due to a noise beneath my car. They inspected the front brakes and said that as soon as I replaced them, the noise would go away. I brought it in later on to get the brakes replaced and after the repair I experienced even MORE rattling. I called them immediately, and brought it in yet again for a test drive with the mechanic at 8 am the next day. He said the noise might be simply from putting my car on the hoist, in which the receptionist Leigh, denied was possible. Instead of putting my car back on the hoist to inspect their own sloppy work, they asked me to book it in for another full day-because their bays were full. That's right, paying customers came before my safety. They also wouldn't guarantee that there would be no cost to me for this additional review of their own work, but denied saying that there would be no additional cost later on when I called in. Regardless of what would have been covered cost-wise for the review of work, WHY would I trust them with my car again after they promised that a repair would fix the initial rattle and in fact, made it worse? I ended up bringing my car into another certified mechanic, and he pointed out that the rattle was indeed from the work that Stagra had done, and that the brake caliper to pad carrier bolts were loose. He could pull them off with his hand. This was negligent, jeopardized my safety, and incredibly costly. Don't bring your car here.

Yes sometimes the services may take a bit longer but the attention to detail and client focus creates delays sometimes. Totally satisfied.
