Let me start this critique by saying this could have been handled in such a better way. Today I showed up early to Grieger, where I've purchased from them, for a simple oil and fuel filter change. I was pulled in and told it could be an hour or two. No worries, I was a walk in, I get it. I took my seat in the waiting room pulled out my phone and relaxed for a little bit of a stay. About 10 minutes in, John I believe his name was, came to me and informed me that they wouldn't be able to do my oil change because they only do appointments and I didn't have one. I told him that I had ran the service at Michigan City Chrysler and I made the assumption every dealer had to have a quick lube lane. My fault! I should have called. I told him they could pull it out and around and I would go somewhere else. In a crappy tone and his back to my walking to the shop he says "or you could just make an appointment and come back". I'm prior service and a war Vet so naturally I responded with "there's no need to be crappy about it". (I don't say crappy) He's honestly lucky that's all I said. I cannot stand crap attitudes when this is an industry I have been very successful in. They brought my truck around and I drove right over to ford. The lady at the counter was super sweet and said she would get me in right away but it could take a minute since they will have to get filters and what not. Again, I appreciated her honesty. I told her that I would willingly walk over to Ram and buy the filters and bring them back. She giggled and said it's not necessary. While my truck is being serviced the service manager at Griegers called. I will say he was very kind. Apologized for the situation and was insistent on getting my service back. I told him I wasn't interested. He stated that the rep could have handled it far better and offered to schedule me and asked if there's a better day I could return. Again, I appreciate his acknowledgment of the failure on the dealership side. I've been in his shoes. I had a tech pop off to a customer. It wasn't right but we have to own it and make it right. I will say ford has a much nicer waiting area with a TV. I know that's petty and small. But, it helps if you're going to be here for a minute. read more

Due to warranty paperwork not being sent properly, I ended up waiting almost a week to get my car back. I f I hadn't made phone calls to dealer checking on things, it might still be sitting there. Will not being doing business there anymore. read more

Ive purchased 2 new cars and had all my auto needs addressed at their shop for many years. I went in to get a routine oil change and they stated, I needed new front struts. I dropped my car off to get the struts and got a call from the service center stating that they wouldn't do the repair because my car needed extensive work done. There was a long list. Rear differential an numerous other repairs. It was going to cost over $6000. They offered me $1000 for my car and proceded to try to sell me a car. They said I shouldn't drive my car home. My car was driving fine except for a slight noise. They said I wouldn't get anything for it if I went somewhere else. It's a 2017 Jeep trailhawk. I went to another dealer to possibly trade it in and they offered me $8000. They didn't find any differential problems. I took it to a different shop and it was a front bearing. It cost me $400. Then I got my front struts fixed later and kept the car. Greigors is a rip off! Trying to take advantage of a single woman. I was a very loyal customer for many years. Their loss! read more

John from the service department is not a big help at ALL. I took my jeep in for 4 recalls and took day off for this. When I picked up my jeep they did not have all the parts for one of the recalls. Asked them about a cracked rim I have and we started the process of getting the warranty started to get it replaced. He said he would start it. Took another day to go back for recall and asked about tire. He told me he tried(he lied). I called him again to check on it and tell him what they told me and he said he can't help with this anymore. Place they left a couple of parts in my jeep how I didn't need those. read more

I live 2 minutes away but I will drive 20+ to have a different dealership work on my Charger. - Service department messed up the coding on my engine computer so I couldn't pass emissions testing. News flash, Indiana is not California! Turned into a major inconvenience. - I was having on issue with the factory wheel covers, when I went in and asked about purchasing new ones (clearly stating what I was looking for) the man at the window said that it wasn't possible and that I would need to buy new rims. Oh its a great car i will make a great deal for you . they sold me a lemon and it even had a warranty that was not good for any of my problems. This is a business that cares very little for repeat customers, at least that is how I felt after buying a car from them as well as getting service from them. Years ago I bought a van which seemed to be the right thing to do at the time. NOT! I was a single woman, fairly young and my knowledge of mechanics was limited to simply taking the van to a mechanic before buying it. Trust me when I say I learned a lot about mechanics after that really sour lemon. The van I bought crashed and burned, at least that is how I felt when the drive line warranty was up the day after the transmission went kaput. It cost me over $2200 back in the early 1990's to have them fix it. I learned to ask for the parts they removed to be saved for me to inspect before paying the bill. I also learned that any dealership that sells their vehicles without a care in the world about the family riding in them need to be put on blast. It has been a long time since that first experience with them, I tried hard not to be a sucker for their hype but along the way they had an offer I couldn't refuse. Shame on me. Again the vehicle was so bad, the price should have been at least two grand less to cover the costs once I drove it off the lot. This is one place you shouldn't look over your shoulder at, you should be looking at the dealerships on either side. read more

I have bought about ten new cars and trucks (some for our business) from Grieger's over the last 18 years or so, plus several used vehicles as well. Dave R. and Brad H. are great guys whom I would trust with pretty much anything and it is doubtful I will buy a new car from anywhere else... unless my ship comes in and I can finally afford that Ferrari. They always treat me right and take care of me. When my vehicles need service, the guys in the shop are fair and prompt. I never feel like I am being taken advantage of and they do what they say they're going to do. read more

I've heard good and bad things about this dealership, but I decided to go anyway to look at Jeeps. The workers here are unprofessional and mess around with you. I've bought cars before at other dealerships and have never dealt with such rude and uncaring individuals during this process. They lied to us and tricked us. They made us wait for such long period of times that we wanted to get up and leave but they would walk back to us to respond to our questions and concerns right before we did. We bought a car from them this time only because we feel in love with the vehicle and couldn't find one like it anywhere around here with the same amount of miles. They also said that Jeep only gives 1/2 tank with new purchase vehicles and as we walked out they shook our hands and sent us on our way. I immediately got into the car to turn it on and there was less than 1/4 tank of gas in it! When I looked up the lights in the dealership were out and I couldn't see anyone. Had a bad experience with service this week. My 2015 jeep i just bought from Connors in Chesterton a month ago didn't want to start at the grocery store just down the street from Griegers. I managed to get it to start but of course was concerned and was hoping it was just a dead battery. So i drove it down the alley to Griegers and was advised by a man in the sales dept to pull into service and ask them to check the battery. I pulled in and was not greeted. I walked up to the middle station and explained my new to me car just tried not to start. He was less than welcoming and made it clear to me that I was interrupting his computer work. He said someone could test it for me in a few minutes but that he couldn't do anything else today and wouldn't be able to get in me in for over a week to further diagnose the problem. I waited a good 5 min while everyone was pounding away at their computers. Eventually, the same guy left and came back and tested it himself. He printed off a slip that said the battery was fine and said I must have an electrical or computer problem so I scheduled service for the following Friday, hoping that I wouldn't get stranded in the meantime. Well, 2 days later, I was leaving LaPorte and had trouble getting it started again. I did get it started but the screen was frozen and unresponsive. Made it home but the car was dead. Sat in my garage all weekend. Called roadside assistance to tow it to Connors. Explained I replaced the key fob batteries and had the car battery tested so it must be something else. We get a call an hour later. The battery is dead. They replaced it, and we are good to go. Really? Thanks for making an easy fix much more complicated and so sorry to bother your inept and unfriendly service department. Won't be doing it again. read more

First off, I didn't shop around for cars, I shopped around for a dealership. Griegers wasn't the most promising of choices, but what I found there was really pretty different than what I expected. We had a pretty awesome car buying experience! I'm not easy to work with. I haggle, I'm distrustful, and I have a hard time dealing with sales tricks... With all that being said, our sales and service staff encounters have been painless and enjoyable. We bought a 2015 Jeep Patriot. Tom and Justin were there for us every step of the way, even gave us their cell #'s to text ?'s to (even after hours). I really enjoyed our exerience and am enjoying the hell out of our new Jeep. I recently used Grieger's service department. I did not have an appt. My rear window would not go up so I just took it in. They were very busy and I left my truck. The next day I spoke to John in service and he told me he was doing all he could to get my truck finished. 1 hour later I receive a call and the truck was fixed along with some recall service which I did not schedule. Went to get an oil change in my 06 charger. Got recommended an injector cleaning because of the miles on the vehicle stating it would help performance and gas milage. The quote was $120 just for the injector cleaning and that it would only take an hour. After two hours of waiting with no updates I got impatient and went to the service area and asked for an update. After the gentlemen called for the service representative that originally helped me (who never showed back up) went on a hunt for my vehicle that was not in the shop at that time. After 5 minutes of looking and asking around they found my vehicle which "just got done" after 2 hours of waiting. Going to the pay window they charged me $202 just for the injector cleaning after the quote was $120. They marked labor as $138 alone! That is over the estimate for the entire job! I left infuriated and should have complained straight there. Got into my car and there was 10 miles over what i brought the car in with! Did they take my car to go do something and that's what took them 2 hours? I don't want to accuse them of something they didn't do but maybe that's why it took over an hour. Very dissatisfied and will never be back. Not my first bad experience there either. read more

If I could give these chuckleheads -6 stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE. So I purchased a brand new 2012 Dodge Avenger from these people. That wasn't the issue. That was actually the only smooth part of the entire process. Pan to last Monday. The heat and defrosters in my car are out, as is PRETTY COMMON WITH THIS MODEL, YET DODGE WONT RECALL IT. I decide I don't wanna mess around with any place that doesn't specialize in my vehicle type, so I take it back to Greiger's. The tech notifies me Monday afternoon that they need to order some parts. Awesome. So they replace the blower motors and heater core, running up my bill about $1400. I attempt payment with my mother's Discover card, and the cashier gets a snide attitude with me telling me she needs to be there to accept payment. I don't have a common last name, and I wait for an hour for my mother to come out wth her ID. Mistake #1. Now, I'm no idiot, and take the car for a little drive around before heading home. To my oh so pleasant surprise, the temperature in my heat is fluctuating wildly. I mean from blazing hot to lukewarm to freezing. Mistake #2. I return to the dealership and tell the shitty cashier that I want to speak to a tech. She replies that they've gone home for the night, basically telling me sucks to suck. So I demand that a manger comes out. The SALES MANAGER comes out and basically tells me he doesn't know ANYTHING about cars, can't answer my questions about if I will be refunded, why this is happening, and how this will be handled. Mistake #3. Takes down my info for the head tech and claims I'll be called Friday morning. So I'm living with a car that only half works, and as I'm driving today I notice a reflection of the lighting unit in my rear view mirror. I adjust the seat up, down, back and forth, as well as the mirror, to no avail. I point it out to my boyfriend, who also sees a difference in its shape and position. We look behind the mirror and notice not only does the material vary VASTLY from the interior of my vehicle, but there is a blatant shaded area from where my actual mirror used to lie. THEY EITHER BROKE OR STOLE MY MIRROR, DIDN'T TELL ME, AND TRIED TO PASS IT OFF. Final fucking mistake, Greiger's. I'll be showing up tomorrow morning to raise hell. tldr; Greiger's service department made my problem worse, then ripped me off without telling me. DO NOT GO THERE FOR ANY SERVICE. read more

This is two reviews in one. Jan 2013 I bought a left over 2012 Ram with ram box. At first it was like pulling teeth until I was gettig up to leave and then they wanted to deal. I loved the truck with the ram box. There where a few problems with rust on the bumper the battery not lasting a year. The service DEPT was not good or fast at taking care of it. Also they broke a stud on the wheel on my first service. The last service they left the drain plug loose oil leaked. The bumper problem was never fixed. In NoV 2014 this thruck was in a wreck and totaled out. I was not goig to go to Greigers. The only way I was getting another ram was for the Ram box. I went to another dealer and they could not help. I made the mistake of stopping at Greigers on the way back. I did tell them I was short on time what I wanted. They did try to find me one but it was not easy. Again they where back to the tricks. They refused to tell me what my company discount was. Even though they where trying to find one. I was not happy with the colors. They tried to talk me into something I did not want. I did settle on something they where to get it at another dealer. Howard the Sales MGR and head arm twister called me later and said the truck they found with a Ram box had over 600 miles. then Tom the sales guy texted me not called and said the mirriors I needed for towing where not included. They told me I had no choice and it was at that point I said yes I do Ford, Chevy. I did get my money back that I put down. I went to look at a chevy and there was no arm twisting I got all my discounts and all for less then the Ram. Now I will never step foot into Greigers again . I gave two strars only because I did like my first truck and the ram box and the price was good at that time. STAY AWAY!!!!! FROM GREIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were looking to purchase a new Jeep Renegade and finally found the perfect salesman in Justin at Griegers Dodge/Jeep. Over the course of 5 months striking out on finding the right sales tempo with 4 other dealers (our local dealer in Plymouth never even got back to us), the right vehicle, and financing that fit our needs we hit pay dirt. Justin at Greiger's stayed in contact with just the right amount of emails along the way and a couple of phone calls. I had a feeling with our conversations that this was going to be the right place to buy a vehicle. We made an appointment for this last weekend, and were warmly greeted. Even though we had test drove a vehicle at another dealer he had us test drive another Jeep Renegade there in case we had any questions. The one we test drove was almost what we were looking for, and he asked us if we would like to check out another color or one with other options. The dealership looked small from the front, but we were pleasantly suprised when were taken to the back and they had a whole row of Jeep Renegades (I think 16 in total). We picked out our color of choice and found the perfect one with the right price and options. Justin made sure that this was the dream vehicle we were looking to purchase. We were then taken inside offered something to drink and looked at finance options. To make a long story short the whole experience was what we felt it should be at a new car dealer from start to beginning!
