My daughter expected a colorful arrangement to celebrate Mother s Day. You did not ask her if "all white" was acceptable You just dumped the lesser used flowers on her order and charged full price. If you need a place for beautiful flower arrangements in Memphis, Garden District is the place! During the pandemic, they started an outdoor pop up shop with flower arrangements from $10-$100 that they made each day. While they have moved back indoors, they still continue the pop up arrangements each day that you can walk in and purchase. They also make custom arrangements. I've called them several times with an arrangement request. I either can reference an arrangement they have on their website, or I have told them how much I want to spend and the type of flowers that I want, and they make something for me. Every time I've had them do the arrangements, they turn out beautifully! Good sized arrangements normally range from $60-$100, but they last for a solid week. They do delivery as well as pick up, and I've been able to call them with 24 hours of a request and get an order. Also, their shop is beautiful! In addition to the pop up arrangements, they have several home goods and seasonal decorations you can buy. They also do event work. I haven't had them do anything for me for an event, so I don't know the prices. But I've seen their work on Instagram and it looks beautiful! read more

Everything that I have ordered from the shop has always been absolutely exquisite. Having lived in Memphis, most of my life I could not think of another flower shop that I would rather send flowers from. They are not cheap, but they are gorgeous. When I wanted to send flowers to my aunt in Rehoboth Beach Delaware, I sent a picture of the flowers I had received from the Garden District to give them an idea of exactly what I wanted. I waited until the last min to order flowers for a friend this Valentine's...and by last minute I mean the day of. Teleflora was my first choice..they had a beautiful and impressive $50 bouquet - a mix of roses and carnations I think, etc. in red/pink called "Dance With Me." But, the early bird gets the worm...Teleflora wasn't accepting any more orders to be delivered today. Called around and finally got Garden District to accept an order for same day delivery; the lady was very nice. I told her I wanted to stay around $50 (I used Teleflora and CJ Lilly as my benchmark for what a $50 bouquet should look like), and that I wanted something that would make my friend go "wow!" She assured me it would be beautiful and impressive. She said she'd just let the guys in the back do their thing. My friend got her flowers today which is great so Garden District gets points and a thank you for that. But I'm disappointed in the arrangement. I uploaded a photo. I was hoping for something with a ribon or leaf in the vase, more baby's breath...something to give it more umph. Would I use GD again? Reluctantly, but I'd be more specific about what I wanted. Garden District and LeFleur are my absolute favorite flower shops in town. The florists here whip up beautiful, fragrant arrangements that last for a couple of weeks at least. My friend sent me a hyacinth arrangement after the birth of my second daughter, and I swear the house smelled heavenly for months. Loved it! I've never been lucky enought to be the personal recepient of an arrangment here but I purchase cash and carry flowers here and have sent many arrangements, each time to a delighted recepient. Yes, this place is prcey but it's not your traditional dozen roses type of florists. They do beautiful arrangments that mix different flowers in season making each bouquet unique. I have $50 bouquests delivered frequently so not sure what the reviewer below had issues with, maybe they were trying to go further away. In addition to selling flowers, there are many lovey gift items, some expensive and some quite reasonable so don't be afriad to browse around if the first thing you see is out of budget. I've used the Garden District since it was John Hoover. When Greg Boudain and Greg Campbell bought it, they've continued to elevate the designs and uniqueness with every order. They always do an amazing job whether you need a simple corsage or a large scale event. My only complaint is when I walk into the store out east, I've never been greeted which is weird. It's like I don't exist. If I call on the phone which is what I usually do, they are great! Not sure the disconnect here. Regardless, I love them. read more

I called this morning just after 11 for a sympathy arrangement for a friend in Memphis. I said I'd like it delivered today but I understand if they're busy. I told them I wanted to spend about $75, and with a $60 arrangement the total was just over $76. At 1:30, my friend texted me to thank me for the beautiful flowers, and said they are "stunning!!!!!" I had to order some flowers for a funeral in Memphis and I'm in Los Angeles, so normally I would just order from 1-800-Flowers. However, I had to place the order today and the service was for tomorrow, so 1-800-Flowers wasn't able to accomodate that delivery date. I looked on Yelp.com to see if I could find a florist with good reviews and found this place. This is my favorite florist. They always have great floral design ideas and wonderful flowers. I like to go there just to see what they are displaying during a season. They seem to be ahead of the curve on a lot of trends. Their prices are pretty high, but if you want something special, this is the place to go. Here's the thing. I don't live in Memphis. So I relied on the kindness and consideration of other yelpers when choosing this florist. This is why it is SO important to leave reviews. Because if I had left a review last year when I ordered from this florist; there wouldn't have been a second time. Last year the flowers were sparse and undesigned for the $77.57 I spent. This year the flowers were beautiful enough, but absolutely NOT what I requested. I asked for yellow, purple, pink and orange. "Make it bright and beautiful! It's for a birthday!", I said. Instead, my recipient received a fall/Thanksgiving style arrangement. But wait there's more.... I told the order taker I wanted to spend $75. The same amount as last year. I was charged $93.96. When I called to make an inquiry. The overall attitude of Joseph was somewhere between nice/nasty and rude. He said he was going to CALL the recipient to retrieve her flowers so they could send her another arrangement. Wait. WHAT??? Thats not appropriate. First, you didn't even ask me if I wanted you to do that. Second, who are you to call my recipient to take anything away from her? Finally, why wouldn't you want to bring the new arrangement at the time you take away the wrong one??? From the very beginning of the call I only wanted to be refunded the difference between what I agreed to pay and what I was charged. Which in my opinion is a small ask considering you didn't even do what I paid you to do in the first place. In the end, he agreed to refund the difference. We'll see if he keeps his word as he was not happy to do it and never apologized for not meeting my expectations. If you choose to use this florist I won't judge you( they make a really nice fall/Thanksgiving arrangement if thats your thing). I'm just saying... Be very specific about EVERYTHING.
