We had originally planned on coming to the Garden Inn, after receiving our key we went to settle in our room but inside there were peoples' belongings like their undergarments, clothing around the room. Obviously someone had not checked out yet, after calling the owners (who are not onsite) they informed us that they didn't know that individual was going to stay an extra day. We then went to the Best Western (owned by the same people). The front desk lady at the Garden Inn also works the front desk at the Best Western, she had to drive down the road for us to check into there. Upon walking in, there's a strong musty smell. The beds were fine but upon looking closer, there were small short strands of hair on the sheets and bedding unfortunately. Also there were specks of dirt/mud I had found on the towels. One upside is that they provide breakfast (powder eggs, sausage, assorted muffins and Texas shaped waffles, and fruit like tangerines and apples. Overall, this place is an option.

I needed to cut my trip short & she was very helpful in making that happen. This location is undeniably older & I can tell by the smell. I feel as though they tried to "renovate" at some point because they do have updated moen fixtures. However, that doesn't make up for the remaining problems. The carpet was visibly dirty (pictured) like it hadn't been vacuumed. The bedding was a bit of a disappointment, there was no real duvet to speak of, just thinner sheets. The sheer shade was broken so I had to utilize the black out shades instead for privacy. The breakfast is provided from 5:30a-9am. I needed a quick breakfast before check out around 8:15a & there was nothing left. There also was no attendant to make sure things were replenished. I walked in to dirty tables as well. If you're in a pinch & this is the only option then I would recommend for a roof over your head alone. I would recommend trying a different location or a neighboring town for a better option. They should not be charging more than $100 a night for this place.

As soon as I opened the door, I got blasted by a wave of heat and a smell that can only be described as a middle school football locker room. Pretty much everything in the room was musty, rusty or crusty. The bed did seem to be clean and was comfortable enough. There were weird sticky spots and stains on the carpet. Can't say I would want to stay here again, but it'll do in a pinch for a night.

The photos are a bit misleading as to the pool area, but we didn't use it and the kids that did use it seemed pretty content, as they were in there every day. My husband said the people at the front desk were pleasant and didn't give him a hard time about checking in. The only issue e have with this particular location is al the rooms are smoking rooms and we didn't know this when booking. The room we were in you could not really tell, so if that's an issue, go to the tiny HEB and get some room spray and a candle like we did and voila... It does state on the website it is a smoking hotel, but he didn't notice so we just had to deal with it. The bathrooms are clean. Actually the cleanest bathroom I've seen in a long time, away from home. The bed was comfy. True towels are small but usable. They have cable and you can hook up a fire stick or any other streaming device to the tv. There were no issues with bugs, that we encountered anyhow. Plenty of front door parking. Parking lot is well lit at night and the AC worked great. I didn't hear the people next to us at all, although I do travel with my fan so maybe that blocked some of the noise, but I did go without the fan while Hubs was watching tv and still heard nothing. I was staying at…read morethis hotel for father's day weekend, and on my last day there as i was getting ready for bed, there was a SCORPION, yes SCORPION in between my pillows & yes my room had gotten cleaned earlier that day as well. when i reported this to the staff in the morning, the lady said that she was "sorry" and that they had exterminators come out the days prior. yea ok. when we asked for a manager to talk to she said there was no manager on duty and that they wouldn't be back until later on in the week, and gave us a card to call. once we called the number later on, a random lady answered and said to stop calling her phone because she had no idea what we were talking about. if you want live scorpion's under your pillow before bed i'd recommend staying, but me nor anyone i know will be staying here any more. worse hotel ever.

Good price, rooms are very clean, a few cosmetic blemishes here and there but what hotel doesn't have those. Smoking and non smoking rooms: good water pressure in showers, and nice hot water. The only complaint is, the further you are away from the office the wifi doesn't work that great, but they do have direct connections in the rooms to plug in your laptops. Fridge and microwave in each room with flat screen TVs on the wall. Pool is open year round, not heated, but if you want to swim just ask the manager and she'll open the gate.
