The owner (Steve Jr. K) of this shop was extremely disrespectful throughout my experience. I received a call stating that the key to my vehicle had been misplaced and that I would need to provide a spare. I explained that my company only issues spare keys in emergency situations and asked if he could continue searching for the missing key. Instead of addressing the issue, he responded dismissively, telling me to stop focusing (dwelling) on the key and implying that if my vehicle had been in an accident, it wouldn't be in the shop. I reiterated that it is the shop's responsibility to keep track of the vehicle key. He then replied, "Well, I won't have it until next week." He then intentionally hung up on me while speaking. Additionally, I was informed that the necessary parts are on backorder, meaning my car will not be repaired anytime soon. Overall, my experience was very unpleasant, and I would strongly advise against using this shop. The owner seemed very prejudiced as well. If you're an organization with a fleet of vehicles. I would recommend Livingston Collision Inc, they were able to provide me with amazing services. read more

Who ever wants to go to a body shop? it cann only be because something bad has happened. Having said that, I can say without reservation I am very grateful I found myself in Garden State Collision when I needed body work on my car. And I couldn't be more pleased with the work that was done to get my car looking like new again! From the moment I arrived for an estimate, the professionalism of the place impressed me. Phenomenal service! I had somebody back into my car in a parking lot which left a large hole. I wasn't able to bring my car in to the shop personally for a quote because of my busy schedule I called these guys, explained the damage, sent some pictures, and gave my VIN number. They gave me an honest quote right away and were able to accommodate the fact that I wouldn't be able to pick my car up right away as well. Came in to fix the moulding on side of my car. They were able to ship the piece I needed right away, and it came within the next few days. When I brought my car in they immediately got to work installing it and it was super quick. Piece was expensive but I expected that. Overall good customer service, efficient. read more

Garden state collision is the best!!!! My daughter got into an accident with my car, other person was totally at fault. I had no idea how to even start going about the process since my car was pretty smashed. Somebody recommended I go there. I called Steve the owner and explain the situation and he walked me through the whole entire process. My car was finished in a week which I was shocked I thought it would be like a month to fix. My car was damaged in a hit and run in a parking lot. At first I thought it was just a broken reflector and minor damage to the bumper -- first place I went to pointed out a dent in the quarter panel and other damage that I didn't notice at first due to the nature of where it was damaged. Wanting a second estimate, I went to Garden State, knowing someone else who had her vehicle repaired here. Steve Jr. pointed out additional damage the first guy missed completely, was fair and honest about things, taking the time to explain exactly why certain components needed to be replaced. I decided to let them do the repair, which was projected to take five days once parts came in. On the 5th day, I picked it up -- the repaired area itself is like brand new. I am a pain in the ass with details due to the nature of my profession, and the repair is perfect! Absolutely no variation in paint color or finish from the factory paint. The personal attention I received was great -- very friendly, yet professional, and in my opinion, a very honest place of business. Would 100% recommend them to anyone in need of a good body shop. read more

I brought my car in for an estimate and Steve, the owner sent one of the workers to look at the damages. As I was explaining things the guy didn't stay with me but rather was walking around to the other side. I had damage in both my car doors from someone trying to break in and some small rust spots. I also needed additional work on a fender. Steve quoted me a price for the 2 car doors so I asked him if I had the fender done what would he quote me for all the work and he gave me a very good discounted price. I had brought my car there once before and liked their work. This time however, when I got my car back and I looked it over, I saw they missed some spots on the inside of my car doors. Steve kept saying had I pointed these out they would of taken care of it. I had pointed it out but the guy didn't bother to stay and listen to me. Steve told me to bring the car back the following week to "buff" out the areas and I could wait for the car. After inspecting the car again, I noticed some black paint specs on one door. When I brought the car back in and told Steve this, he said "I can't imagine how they got there, but we'll take a look". I felt uneasy about how I was being treated. I waited for my car and after about 20 mins. one of Steve's sons brought the car out for me. I looked it over and it appeared they just sloppily covered the areas with paint. When I pointed out the area of the rust spot still showing through he told me not to worry about it because it was high up on the car door. I also pointed out a piece of molding that had some small abrasions on it and he just said that was never in the original estimate. Frustrated I took the car home and decided to never go there again. I cannot believe how so many people gave them 5 stars!!! read more

Steve and the guys at GSC are everything you want in a body shop: available, friendly, fast and most importantly, honest! I brought my Subaru Outback baby in here with a bumper boo boo on a today and they fixed her up in 10 minutes! Steve told me that they could fix the dent, but that if I wanted the scratches on the plastic out, I'd have to go ahead and get a new one. I opted for the former and now my baby just has a little tough look to her. GSC is the best! If you want a trustworthy and easy experience, call them! PS if you are coming from Millburn/Short Hills area turn onto Spruce BEFORE you pass the place. You can't really turn right to get in from the intersection once you pass it. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I will go out of my way to avoid dealing with these crooks again, and tell everyone in need of bodywork the details of my experience. Originally, I had a damaged car that I was going to get fixed once the adjuster came and wrote an estimate. Steve's son was interested in buying the car from me. I told him I wanted to see what the total damage was and then I would decide what I wanted to do with the car. Once I found out the car was not totaled, I decided I was going to sell it. Steve and his son low balled me and used the fact that the car was sitting in their lot accruing storage fees as leverage. After considering offers that were thousands of dollars higher, the storage fees made it worth it to leave the car where it was...not to mention it would have needed to be towed out of the shop. I told Steve that I would sell him the car for the agreed upon low ball price. I then went to take my possessions out of the trunk (car cover and aftermarket exhaust) and collect final payment. Steve would not let me remove these items saying that they were part of the deal. I told him no they weren't and I had already told another person that I would sell them the exhaust. I was stuck without a tow truck to take the car, so I counted the money for the car, managed not to assault Steve's son, and never returned. They sold that car, which had substantial damage, without disclosing the repair and probably made a killing. In fact he told me he wanted to hurry the repair and sell it before the accident gets reported to carfax. To anyone who bought a black 2004 corvette z06 with 23k miles from Garden State Collision, I would check the carfax. I can't believe that they have a 5 star rating...I guess those 3 people have not been screwed yet by this shady business. Regardless of the quality of their work, which is actually very good (I had a motorcycle painted and fairings plastic welded), I will never give them another dime of business and will do everything I can to warn hard working people about these crooks. read more
