Wonderful church! Friendly people and a loving environment. A pastor who teaches the word of God.

This is a wonderful community church with a consistently Bible-centric message. It is a church that preaches the love of Jesus, a church that on a regular place reminds us that church is not supposed to be a museum for saints but a hospital for sinners. Pastor Kevin is an inspired and engaging pastor, and a talented teacher of the Word. Rather than posting four or five positive reviews, I note that Yelp instead focuses on two reviews by individuals with an obvious agenda and who are unlikely to have ever darkened the doors of this church. read more

Kevin Hamm is the best pastor outhere. The people of Valley View actually cried when he left. My husband and I now live in Daytona Beach and just learned he will be preaching in Panama City Feb 1, 2. Have not heard him preach in years. By the grace of my savior Jesus Christ we plan on driving 4 hours in February. What Pastor Hamm simply meant when he made the statement about sailing away was. Our country was founded by men and women of all races by giving their lives and bloodshed for the flag. We ALL should be proud of it, and respect it. That respect is simply standing to show our support, our solidarity. This is our country. Let's be proud of it. No other country in the world has the freedom we all do. Yes, we have some issues that need to be resolved, but overall it is a country that we are proud of. I pray that we all join hands, red, white, black, brown, etc. Let's be the Americans that we are. Let's be united not divided. I ask that you keep in mind Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. My husband and I pass Gardendale First Baptist Church monthly, on business. We've been wanting to visit their service, one Sunday, and it worked out that we were able to stop in today. We were greeted by friendly folk who were happy to help us find a Sunday School class we would be comfortable in. During the class, the need of one of the members was made known. They had just gained custody of five nieces and nephews, after just getting back on their feet from a job loss. A spontaneous collection was taken that will significantly help their situation. We have a mega church near our house that we have visited from time to time. We felt more welcomed in one visit at Gardendale than we have in all of our many visits to our local mega church. Everyone was shaking out hands and making us feel very welcomed and at home.
