Our city council sent out notice that we had to reduce water usage. I tried to change mine on the controller and jacked it all up. I called the people who laid the sod and got a message to call back on Monday. Called the landscaper and got the same message (plus it was a holiday weekend). To add to the craziness we were leaving town the next day. Googled sprinkler repair and got a dozen names. All giving me the same message to call back on Monday. Half way through the list I get Matt. He answers and tells me he can't come out but will talk me through it. On the first phase I screw up and get it wrong. He is patient and talks me through it again. We get disconnected halfway through, but I think I got it. Two hours later Matt calls me back. He's out camping and was in a dead spot but is good to go. I tell him what I did , and he still has to make corrections for me. The next day I check and the sprinkler is operating as expected. Can't say enough about Matt he is a man of character and will be my sprinkler guy for life.

Mermaid Gardens is a small gardening company in the Fort Collins area that came out to my house to…read moreaerate the garden that we were planning to grow. The lady that runs the business seemed quirky and granola which was ok by us but in the end it was frustrating with our last dealings with her. We first came across Mermaid Gardens at Walrus Ice Cream where there was a note attached to the bulletin wall that there was a company called Mermaid Gardens that specialized in gardening care. My partner thought it was good to try them out since generally we support local and independent business. We called the number that we tore off from the notice and called. The lady said that she could aerate our garden but the equipment was not immediately available to her. The lawn aerator was with a bunch of nuns up by Red Feather Lakes she told us. Ooook! We decided to wait until she could get the aerator back from the nuns. She came which seemed to be a major effort and did indeed do a good job with aerating the gardening area and left. The garden gave us mixed results but none of that had to do with Mermaid Gardens. The following summer we were at Walrus again and saw her notice up. We called once again and she said that she had no equipment at all to come aerate the garden for us and would not be getting it. I guess the nuns permanently commandeered the aerator. While trying to research more about Mermaid Gardens I did a Google search and absolutely nothing came up. No phone numbers, no address... nothing! She did say she was out of the downtown area though when she did come out. Either this business is too small to turn up in the local papers or it is unscrupulous. You make your choice on that.
