Restaurant was fine too. Room has Wi-Fi and a safe. It also was spotless. It's next to the central train station, but we didn't notice any noise from it. If we go back to Tours we will probably stay someplace else for the same price.

this company is run by one guy who has toured the world on his motorcycle. he has a great thing…read morehere. it is very close to the train station, and he has a great fleet of all kinds of bikes. laurent responded very quickly to communications, and was extremely helpful with the whole process. i did not go on a guided tour with him, but i can imagine it would be magical. i rented a bike and did my own tour of the brittany countryside and coast. do yourself a favour and rent with Ride in Tours for a wonderful experience. Laurent est tres gentil et extremement competent. Il a repondu rapidement a toute communication. Il a fait tour du monde a moto, et connait son propre pays tres bien. Bien pres de la gare SCNF, il etait tres facile d'arriver en place. Je ne suis pas allee en tournee avec sa compagnie. J'ai loue un moto pour faire mon propre voyage. Mario, the owner, agreed to accommodate me, even though he was leaving on vacation himself the day after our tour! Not only that, but he gave me a great deal for a private tour, and also offered to pick me up and drop me off at the train station in Tours (as I was travelling from Paris -- 1 hr by TGV and 2 hr by normal train). We visited two wineries. I really enjoyed the first one, in Vouvray, where I joined a small group of three other people touring the caves with the winemaker (who gave the tour in English) and his beautiful dog, a male Belgian Tervuren. Then we had a nice tasting of four white wines in the tasting room. There was zero pressure to buy (as is generally the case in France -- not like the US!), and the wines were reasonably priced with shipping abroad available. The second winery was in Bourgueil, and the wines (red) were more up my alley. The tasting room was beautiful. But the best part was that afterward, Mario took me to explore the caves of the winery, where I saw bottles from the 1800s, and then brought me into the vineyards to enjoy a lovely picnic inside a giant wine barrel overlooking the hills! The lunch spread was amazing -- beautiful fresh cheeses, bread, couscous, the most delicious smoked trout from the Loire, smoked magret, etc . . . and of course several choices of wine! Because I had a couple of hours to kill before my train, Mario gave me notes and a map of Tours so that I could explore the city. He was also sympathetic to the fact that I had all sorts of phone issues (my carrier didn't work in France, although it was supposed to and I had paid for an international plan), and -- this part is amazing -- he was kind enough to actually lend me his SIM card for the next few days! This shows you how truly Mario went above and beyond great customer service. Not only did I really enjoy my Loire Valley tour, I feel as though I made a friend! Cannot recommend enough.

I've been coming here for years when I visit a local company…read more This is a Best Western so you can conveniently book online and checkout the rates and any deals. There are four floors of room with about 10 rooms per floor. Each room is decorated differently so it does not have the typical cookie cutter hotel feel. The Owners and staff are very friendly and happy to help out with tour and restaurant recommendations. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. In the morning the dining area is open with tea, coffee, yogurt, fresh bread and croissants, and of course my favorite - pain au choclat! Yum. They also serve fresh squeezed OJ and some cheeses and meat slices. It's self serve and you can hang out as long as you want. I really like the location because you can walk in about 10 minutes to either the main shopping area or the Old Town area which is full of great little restaurants and pubs. It also has easy access to the highways and the train station. Very recommended, but be advised they are doing a major expansion. The construction is only during the day and actually not inside but adjacent to the hotel, but it can be distracting if you are trying to snooze during the day.
