nastiest food i ever tasted! how do you eat this stuff, i couldn't figure out! i could see there was a pita bread i think, but not sure??? i was give some soupy-looking stuff that looked like throw up, how was it to be eaten with & on what? i ordered the chicken kabobs that looked nothing like the picture on the wall menu &i expected the garlic to be recognizable, but it was a mashed consistency of maybe a soft pudding. i paid $22.05 for this stuff, the kabobs were dry & served with very little rice no sauce &the cashier/server was irritated because se gave the wrong name or description of the dish! total waste of my money &i was hungry & couldn't really eat the meal!

The food is mediocre, the establishment is clean, and the service is good. If you value your hard-earned money, READ ON. We entered this nicely kept facility expecting great service paired with excellent food at a good price. What we got was only 1 of those 3 expectations met (i.e., great service). The prices were way too high for the food that we received. At gourmet prices, you'd expect the food to be good. Well, alas, the food was insufficiently seasoned and the beef "sandwiches" (more like wraps) were RAW!!! This is inexcusable. Rushing food out without checking that it is properly cooked is a dangerous thing to do, as someone can get ill. I unfortunately ate a piece of raw beef and was ultimately left with a bad taste in my mouth. Once bitten, twice shy.

I have been eating at Garlic Crush for several years now and I love their chicken shawarma plate with extra garlic paste. Today for some reason it wasn't available on Door Dash so I ordered the Beef and Lamb Shawarma plate and I was so disappointed by the quality of the food. The meat was rock hard and so dark it looked like pieces of shoe leather and had a weird smell. I had to scrape off most of the meat as it was inedible and disgusting to eat. I will be calling the restaurant tomorrow to request a partial refund.

Little pricier than other mediterranean places but given how much I enjoyed the meal I can totally forgive that. The chicken shawarma plate was absolutely packed with shawarma, rice, hummus, and the yummiest toum. It came with a warm pita and choice between soup or salad (chose salad). Thought I'd be able to split it into 2 meals but it was so good I couldn't help eating it all even when I felt myself getting fuller. That's how you know it's a great meal

Horrible! Gyro meat was dry and burnt. Rice was undercooked. This place is not a good replacement to the place that was there. Mediterranean express was so much better. Now I'll only go to Med Mix in Central district.

Ambience. B Service. B??? Food. Price. A Found on Broadway outside street side of the QFC. My first time here, but I know this place has been here for years. Service is friendly, but getting 5 people to try and explain the difference between a gyro sandwich vs schwarma sandwich was so confusing!!! English seemed a little difficult in here. I got that sauces are different, but people kept confusing I wanted different meats?!!! Even though there's a lamb gyro and lamb schwarma. I ordered schwarma since I wanted tahini and hummus sauce with my meats. No prices are in the menu board so downloaded the web menu. My schwarma beef lamb was $10+ The light grilled tortilla with lettuce tomatoes and tahini were good. Unfortunately, I thought the sliced off meat was dry...if it weren't for the sauces of tahini or hummus, this would have been a dry tasteless sandwich. There's a big turnover of food during my time at lunch... don't know why the meat was way over cooked and dry. Sigh. I've definitely have had better. There's a long list of takeout and pickup orders. So I had to wait over 10 mins as each sandwich is prepped to order. Today. Not a fan...

Don't be scared by the bad reviews. If you look closely at the bad reviews, all of them say that the food is good (which it is). Instead they nit pick about small things which probably won't matter to most people. As for the food itself, it's delicious. I've been eating at the Bellevue location for years and hoping they would open closer to home. My favorite is the chicken kabob platter. The chicken is super tender and juicy with a wonderful zesty marinade. It comes with the best lemon chicken soup I've had. And I can't get enough of the garlic sauce it also comes with.

I gave the Seattle location another chance after almost a year. The serving sizes are back to normal. The chicken kabob salad was not shorted as it was in the past. My boys enjoyed their chicken kabob plates. Looking forward to enjoying more meals when watching Sounders games.

How the heck am I first person to review the newly taken over Garlic Crush? But let me tell you, I'm glad I am! My first time at Garlic Crush was in Bellevue. My good friend (IG:kee.bites) introduced me to the fresh and delicious Mediterranean food that Garlic Crush had to offer. Like the time in Bellevue I had ordered the Beef and Lamb Gyro Plate ($12.95). You get a choice of soup or salad, plus a hot pita. The gyro meat comes more in a think strip form, laying on a bed of rice and mixed with onion and covered with a nice smattering of tzatziki sauce. Fresh herbs and spices melded everything perfectly together. The portion size is enough to share, or have for left overs later. The quality of the food hasn't changed from the Bellevue location to the Cap Hill location, and still keeps me wanting more... with more tzatziki sauce. I'm not ever a lamb fan, but somehow Garlic Crush had done something magical to trick my taste buds into loving the lamb on the gyro plate. Prices seem to vary a bit from the website to what is actually posted in shop. Probably trying to win over the college and university kids. But let me tell you, Garlic Crush you've won me over. Thanks for being delicious Garlic Crush! Keep up the good work!

Listen, hands down this is the best Mediterranean spot in Seattle. The Garlic Fries are bomb by themselves but I add the gyro meat to it and baby when I tell you, it'll make you slap somebody's mama (because I'm not slapping my mama, she slaps back) - you'll slap her into oblivion! The gyro meat is extra and they're always confused when I order it this way but man, it's good. I'm from the south, so fries for us always have a topping on them. Trust me, get the garlic fries with the gyro meat on top and extra garlic sauce!! It's delicious and filling. Leave me a compliment if you ever try them this way!

Garlic Crush is my go-to takeout place! I love that they are always quick without compromising on flavor and freshness (portions are also super generous). If you're not sure what to try, I'd recommend the Beef and Lamb Shawarma plate. Adding as a note since I haven't seen any reviews mention, but everything on the menu is halal!

Was in Seattle for a small vacation with my man from NM. We were exhausted and starving in our hotel room and decided to order delivery from Garlic Crush. (The photos looked SO good) We ordered 2 Gyros and an order of garlic fries. I'll say the Gyros were huge compared to what we were used to back home and the fries were big enough for us to share. Unfortunately everything was extremely dry.. there seemed to be no sauce? Seasoning? Juice? We had about 3-4 bites of our Gyros, tried a few fries and finally tapped out. It was almost as if we needed to chase our food down with water. Not sure if it was just because it was delivered/dried out or just sucky quality.. I really wanted to enjoy the fries. I'm a slut for potatoes. The spices along with the (feta?) cheese, and garlic sauce was delicious! Again.. wasn't very appetizing since the fries were so starchy. I think whenever we do come back to Seattle, I'd be willing to try this place out again in person! read more

Ordered Garlic Crush on Uber Eats tonight for the first time. What first struck me was the rice- it doesn't taste or look like rice pilaf. It looks and tastes like what you'd find out of a rice-a-roni bag. The meat was thickly cut instead of the traditional thin cut of shwarma. I would never order from here again- especially for the $20 price tag. 2 stars since the food is passable at best. read more

Don't pay attention to the review saying not to pay attention to the bad reviews. It's bad. This place used to be MedEx, which was top notch...easily had a couple of meals a week there. I don't know why they got sold / transferred ownership, but everything is worse. The chicken was bland and dry. The tasty hummus I expect from medex is gone. The soup was below average. It's sad because I lost a great restaurant from my rotation. :( read more

This is a small place near QFC and while it may seem a bit pricey, wow do they give big portions!! I got the beef and lamb gyro salad and it was a plate of salad topped with a bunch of meat. The only downside is that the meat was a little dry, but the food was definitely value read more

The sandwiches here used to be higher caliber. Went 10/8/23 evening and the chicken shawarma was a sticky mess, hugely oversauced, the chicken not even grilled this time but more like boiled, cold, and three days' worth of salt in the thing. Got a really bad stomach ache, I think it was all the salt that functioned in effect like a saline laxative. Sorry for the brutal review but wish I could get my $$ back, it was so untasty and downright unhealthy. The cooks are currently clueless and untrained. GYRO HOUSE on north end capitol Hill much better. read more

I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate and some Spanakopita, neither were particularly... good. At all, really. The rice had no seasoning and wasn't cooked all the way, the spanakopita was cold. It's all plated very lovely, but the taste does not align. read more

I came here for lunch and ordered the beef kebab plate, chicken shawarma, and garlic fries. All three items were so delicious. They have complimentary garlic sauce and charge a small fee for the garlic paste. The garlic sauce was very tasty and the consistency was on point. The cook came out and apologized that my entree was taking longer and offered baklava which was also delicious. The only thing was that the rice didn't taste like basmati, more like pilaf. Either way, we would definitely come back again if we're back in Seattle. read more

Today I placed an order on Uber eats for a chicken kebab plate with pita +1 extra pita bread . After arriving home I discovered both pita breads were covered in green mold and smelled old . Unacceptable to be serving customers out dated old food . I politely called the Restraunt to inform them , and WILSON "the supervisor" was very rude and told me they opened a new pack today and it can't be old . So I saved the receipt and let him know I'm driving all the way back there to show him his old food he denies . Don't recommended eating here unless you want to get sick from workers knowingly serving spoiled food . read more

Eaten here twice both times food was amazing- quick delivery yummy foods. I've ordered gyros chicken and lamb- both were great. I ordered a kabob plate like I do every week but this time the bread was covered in MOLD! I called to let the staff know, not to ask for a refund but which honestly I'm entitled to after this discovery, but to make them aware of the unsafe bread they are selling. When I called Wilson informed me it was impossible that the bread was molded because " I opened all the bags today" his rude and pompous tone made me decide to publicly post a review. Way overpriced for the mediocrity of the food. Got the chicken shawarma plate, which tasted okay but some of the rice was hard and not cooked properly. And the spanakopita is just not good. Ideally it would be crunchy phillo with warm filling. This was sad soft phillo with solid cold filling, topped with tzatziki sauce for some reason?! My husband is Lebanese and we are both obsessed with finding delicious Lebanese food. Both of our favorite is the chicken shawarma -- it is AMAZING. The hummus is also perfect and super smooth and creamy. We probably order here every other week. We've tried their other items, but keep coming back to our staple order. Hot tip: the garlic sauce that comes with the chicken ("toum" in arabic) is listed as "garlic paste". I always get an extra. I came here to review it because I'm ordering on Seamless right now and realized I already raved about them there. Get the chicken shawarma plate!! We love you Garlic Crush!!! read more

I've always wanted to try this place whenever I was in Bellevue, but i opted for other places instead. Once this opened in cap hill, i was super excited! Anyway, i've had better gyros.. the meat was dry, the gyro was skimpy and skinny... I just wasn't impressed, there wasn't a garlic flavor at all!! Kinda mad me sad because I love love garlic. Anyway, the food was okay, nothing great, def will not be trying again unfortunately. read more

Just ate here and was disappointed, back when this place was called Mediterranean Express, the food was wayyyyy better. I ordered the chicken wrap and the chicken was bland and tasteless. The chicken kabob is SO GOOD! The chicken kabob is juicy and well seasoned and the garlic paste is a MUST they finally started selling containers of the garlic paste which is great because now I can put it on everything. I will say that shawarma is my favorite food but unfortunately their shawarma is very dry. read more

Gross. This used to be a solid Mediterranean restaurant. EVERYTHING that I ordered was bad. Chicken shawarma = dry shards of chicken. Dolmas = deflated. The humus was ever bad. How do you mess up humus!? New owners probably rely on all the delivery services for business. That can't last. Who would ever order food from here again? Not me. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Matt J.

Garlic Crush owner, Maher "Matt" Jabbour, originally from Lebanon, moved to Bellevue in 1998 for a position at Microsoft. With his family, he bought and operated a small Mediterranean grocery store in downtown Bellevue in 2004 where they sold homemade artisan dishes from their homeland. With the unique Mediterranean menu he offered, his fresh, authentic, casual food quickly became popular and Matt made a decision to expand into more of a "fast, casual" restaurant and move away from the storefront business. In 2008, Matt left Microsoft and opened Garlic Crush.

We shared a number of dishes and two bottles of wine. We started with the Hummus bil Lahm ou Snobar, my favorite dish of the evening a hummus with bubbling spiced lamb. Baba Ghanouj, Bisara Munir, Arnabeet, Alhalaioun and the chicken and beef Shish Taouk. Everything was delicious. Flavorful, the proteins were cooked perfectly nice and tender. One of our friends likes meat a lot and hadn't cause he thought it was a vegetarian restaurant. We had to have the green chile sauce on the side of the asparagus dish cause of my friend but that was ok we were putting it in other items we loved it so much. Also the whipped garlic that came with the chicken and beef was a big hit! We had never had Lebanese wine and enjoyed our selections. Love that it felt like a healthier meal with the vegetables and spreads. Didn't feel stuffed after but definitely satisfied. Both were very flavorful and well balanced. Love the different textures. The roasted broccoli was OK, it was on the less cooked side The entree skewers were pretty good too. Shoutout to the kind service that let me combine and do half beef and half chicken because at the point I was too full from all the appetizers I ordered but still wanted to try both. One thing I really loved about the skewer is the sauces that came on the side: one tahini, one garlic, and one tomato. Such delicious sauces! Entrees were a little pricey though. Last but not least my party enjoyed the special Lebanese wine.

We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

He told us that they're a couple and that they come by every year to lay eggs and they visit him every night for dinner during this time. He also told us that Cedars of Lebanon has been open for over 40 years and that it used to be so rowdy and exciting. So many people would gather around and spend time in his restaurant but now it's a lot quieter (I'm assuming this is because new, more novel places have been popping up on the Ave). I left this conversation so touched and full of love for this man, I genuinely wish him the best. The portions were also quite small, and the prices felt very high for what you get. The service was just okay overall. Maybe they are still new and working things out, but for the price and portion size it just didn't feel worth it.
