Our room's not large but clean and comfortable, and the best thing about it is it's on the corner with two balcony windows. The main street facing balcony is big with seating (seems like all the first floor rooms - 2nd by US custom - have the large balconies), for some reason ours only has 2 regular plastic chairs whereas others have reclining ones. Wifi is not the best - can only connect in the lobby. Breakfast is nice with a couple of hot dishes - scrambled eggs, bacon - and selection of pastries. All in all a good place to stay especially if you want to be close to the bus station where there are daily direct buses to Venice airport.

Longer version: Spent there the last week of January 2016 with my in-laws. Seven adults (incuding grandparents), and five kids (ages 2 to 6) made the party. By sections: a) The hotel: very pretty location in the middle of the mountain, great views (I believe all rooms had at least a comfortable balcony, if not a terrace) and quite close to the Ortisei town center and ski lifts (a 5 minute drive). There's a large parking just under the ski lift that takes you up to Alpe Di Siusi-Saiser Alm that costs max. 6€/day. A bus stops just in front of the hotel but I never used it and therefore can't give any details. b) The rooms: simply decorated but nice, clean and with comfortable beds. Automatic shutters and very clean and modern showers (only complaint here is that our room didn't have a bath, which I love to use after a day skiing... I didn't ask though if other rooms had). Our room was divided into two separate rooms (one for the kids) connected by a sliding door, definitely a great distribution. c) Eating: Much, much better than I could have ever expected. The hotel is family-run and the owners themselves work everyday in the hotel (she being an experienced cook), and it does make a huge difference. I've had reasonably bad experiences in the past with complicated food and seeing as we weren't precisely an easy group (three different nationalities, one person allergic to fish&seafood, and the 5 very small kids) I was worried eating would be a problem. I was however completely wrong. Breakfast offer is large and nice but dinners were specially good, usually three courses plus dessert and in every single case "non-conflictive" food even for the small kids, a great job. Also, seeing as we had quite some small kids we were a bit separated from the rest of guests which made life easier for everyone. d) Service: The waiters are nice and correct but, not suprisingly, not -by far- as nice as the owners and their family. We had the opportunity to spend some time talking to the wife and had a great time, she puts her heart into her daily work (which she loves, by the way) and you can perfectly see it, it's always a great experience -and not that usual- to come across people that love what they do. e) Rates: Great price/quality relationship. Wine and drinks (full bar, by the way, with plenty of references) fairly priced. All in all a great place to stay and definitely worth repeating, can only recommend.

The room was an excellent, clean, spacious room with even a "nook" area for sitting. Wifi worked perfectly. Dining in the restaurant was a wonderful experience with a four course dinner. That night, we had a mozzarella tomato appetizer, salad, pasta, and grilled veal steaks with a mascarpone pastry desert. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. For only 9 euro you get a superb buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, Sacher torte (cake) and other cakes and pastries, vegetables, various types of bread, cold cuts, eggs (prepared for you on the spot if you like), muesli, jams, honey, etc... Dinner is excellent and good value for money too! There's free parking and free wifi. I'll use this hotel again :) I love skiing in the Dolomites and this hotel definitely added to a wonderful winter sport experience!

The rooms are very comfortable, lovely views, & just far enough off the main drag as to be very quiet (not that Val Gardena has a huge nightlife: its all about the skiing!) We booked half-board, & dinner was provided by the Tyrol next door: very good food, and a very luxurious restaurant (they'll smilingly accommodate jeans & a t-shirt, but its much nicer than that). The mountains around the town make it very lovely and we enjoyed our stay. The female owner makes this hotel special .. she's so friendly and charming .. and does everything with flare. Dinner entrees were served under silver domes and the unveiling was coordinated for effect. Over all the food on this tour was very disappointing but this was by far one of the better meals included. This Hotel dates back to 1826 as the oldest in town. The decor and woodworking is gorgeous though you do have to watch out for splinters .. so don't shuffle your feet. The doors have real keys with the heaviest key-fabs you've ever seen and some of the door ways are so dark you would find a flashlight helpful. I thought the town, hotel and our room were very cute. Loved having a balcony to go out on with a view. The beds were super firm .. all the beds in Europe have been FIRM which wasn't my comfort preference but must be a Europe thing. the free internet was slow and spotty but enough to check in with family. We had a do not disturb sign on the door but the staff entered anyway .. to clean the room .. close the shudders etc. Didn't like they came in though we put the do not disturb sign .. but noting was stolen or seemed out of place. There is no AC or Fans .. so we were a bit too warm ... thankfully it was spring not summer. As with many in Europe they did not provide hair conditioner which is standard in areas. Even though there were a few things wrong .. the owner was so funny and charming .. we loved her and our stay. When we were leaving she got in the road and stopped traffic for all our group to cross. Now that is service!!!!!

The cafe over looks the main thoroughfare corso italia. You can sit and sip a beverage in the outside portion and people watch. The food is excellent is all three of the eateries.
