We recently called Brent Garvey Painting to do some touch up on the interior of our home. Nothing major, just to paint over some daily wear and tear. When we decided to paint the inside of our home, Brent was the first person to bid the job. Needless to say I didn't need anymore bids. Brent Garvey's crew just finished exterior painting our house- a job which had been deferred for way too long and the T111 siding really showed it. He described with more understanding the issues with our paint project than any of the 4 contractors who quoted. His quote was reasonable and $4k less than one quote. He also rebuilt some roof beams and molding that needed replacement prior to painting. His two man lead crew on our house, Luis and Cesar, were exceptional, on time, courteous. In the course of prep it became clear the gutters (1980 steel ) were in need of replacement, so as soon as they finished the body and trim, we had Guy's Gutters put on new Al gutters, the crew came back and painted them to match the next day in the scope of the original quote. They used way more paint than originally expected on the body of the house and it looks great with the new gutters. Brent painted the outside of my Rio del Mar home last week and did a great job! He and his crew were professional, skillful, thorough and very painstaking with all the details. Everything was done in a timely manner and Brent communicated with me throughout the process. I noticed the ad in the Santa Cruz Sentiel. The ad is located in the newspaper pretty much every day. I have had some real problems with house painters in the past. But after calling Brent Garvey he returned my call quickly. He arrived the next morning and gave me a very reasonable bid. I felt very comfortable with Brent and accepted the bid. It was the middle of summer so he was a bit backed up with previous painting contracts. I called Brent a couple of times and sent him emails. Each time he quickly returned my calls and emails. The end result: Three weeks after the contract was signed the house had been pressured washed and painting started. The painters took 3 days total to completed the painting. I have used Brent Garvey Painting twice in the past 3 years. We live in a large Victorian style home near to the beach in Santa Cruz. We had some wood rot damage which required some extensive repair. This was done by Brent's crew and then they painted and sealed the entire outside of the home. It turned out great and should last for several years. Three months ago they painted most of the interior of the house and redid the kitchen cabinets. Also turned out great and was done quickly with a minimum of hassle. I highly recommend Garvey Painting, we are 3 townhomes with more nooks and crannies that a Thomas' English Muffin, and 2 stories high. We were 2 years overdue for painting so lots of prep. We also had the crew remove our old cracked downspouts and a contractor they work with remove and replace termite damaged siding boards. Just had the exterior of my house in the Santa Cruz Mountains painted by Brent Garvey. It impressed me that he actually had a carpenter on his crew to expertly replace several sheets of damaged siding. Once on his calendar, work proceeded swiftly with a crew of four. I had special concerns with gray discolorations under my roof overhangs. These areas were pressure washed, primed with a special primer and then sprayed with two applications of paint. They now look great, as does the entire outside of the house. Prepping and painting took many man hours but was completed in a little over a week.
