Stay away! Owner refused to return my deposit after I…read morecanceled my service request. And he didn't even have the courtesy to call me after several calls, and email. I was happy with the arborist Troy Lampenfield who had done some expensive treatments on our tree in the past. The water company cased severe damage. I sent in a $300. deposit and a day or so later discovered the tree contracted a fatal fungus making further treatment useless. When I called to cancel they said the deposit was non-refundable. Their bid for removal was $13,000. I got 2 other bids from A+ Better business companies with excellent reviews: $5,000. and $4,800. The company I hired came out as scheduled with all their own expensive equipment and $1M. insurance and did a great job. Do your research before you hire someone. If you read many reviews you'll see the owner responds to bad reviews by dismissing and complaining. I thought, well some customers are just complainers, but now I know better.

They gave us a fair bid for the job and then completed it on schedule. They needed to go onto our neighbors' property to get the job done safely, and they did an excellent job communicating with the neighbors. They came back several weeks later to grind out the stumps. Another tree service said they couldn't get their stump grinder down our narrow driveway to the backyard. But Carl's had no problem, and they left the yard in great shape with the giant stumps all gone. They had to take down the fence and put it back up again, and they took care with that, leaving the fence in great shape.

I said oh you're serious he replied yes look at that tree. So he was my first estimate and I was sick thinking how can I afford this. Well I have now had 3 other companies come out and I was quoted 4,000-6,000 dollars BIG difference from Fred's 50,000 dollar quote. Just watch if you call Fred make sure you get more quotes.

I did, winter hit, and after trying many times to get him back to clean up and finish the job I am not able to reach him. A few texts about how he'd reach back out but nothing.
