My lunch which I had flown 4000 miles for was better than I had hoped it might be. Bearing in mind Whitstable has been discovered by London and now has many trendy independent shops, galleries and eating places I am so pleased the V C Jones has not changed on iota. The chips, a.k.a, fries were crisp on the outside and well cooked on the inside. The fish was not greasy at all. I had the Haddock and it was super delicious. We were a part of 5 and were seated immediately. The server took our order right away and was very attentive. This even thought it was the only table available. Crispins have a reasonable selection of other hot food too. The mostly young staff at this fantastic little Take Away are also polite and friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable.. I tried some at a local pub but wasn't impressed so I came to City Fish & Chips to give it another shot - so much better! The flavor in both the cod and the chips is great especially with vinegar. Still a good deal as they are much more in London. We also ordered a raspberry wheat beer. As we waited, we spotted the fish and chips which is ENORMOUS. Seriously, if you can, order that too. The half lobster looked pretty good too, and a great deal at £13.50. Our oysters were large, fresh and delicious, so good we came back later for another round. I was thrilled with the place.
