Would I be disappointed.....no feckin' way!!!! The place still offers a simple style with formica tables a mug of tea and mushy peas...and that smell.....oh it's divine!!!! My lunch which I had flown 4000 miles for was better than I had hoped it might be. Bearing in mind Whitstable has been discovered by London and now has many trendy independent shops, galleries and eating places I am so pleased the V C Jones has not changed on iota. The chips, a.k.a, fries were crisp on the outside and well cooked on the inside. The fish was not greasy at all. I had the Haddock and it was super delicious. We were a part of 5 and were seated immediately. The server took our order right away and was very attentive. This even thought it was the only table available. Crispins have a reasonable selection of other hot food too. The mostly young staff at this fantastic little Take Away are also polite and friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable.. There is ample parking outside, as this Take Away is situated directly next to the local car park. A Real Hidden Jem In Medway, and well worth a visit...

On the board, they advertise various kinds of oysters, fish and chips and half lobsters. They were out of the cheapest oysters so we got the local tressels, half dozen for £10. Still a good deal as they are much more in London. We also ordered a raspberry wheat beer. As we waited, we spotted the fish and chips which is ENORMOUS. Seriously, if you can, order that too. The half lobster looked pretty good too, and a great deal at £13.50. Our oysters were large, fresh and delicious, so good we came back later for another round. I was thrilled with the place. Definitely would come back for a visit.
