Even though I read good reviews about this restaurant and I was truly looking forward for the…read moredinner here, the ultimate experience was very disappointing. It's located right on the main square and to me it seemed as a tourist plCe with slow and unfriendly service and food that does not correspond to the price. Maybe we were just unlucky but that's definitely not a place we will be returning to.
I really like the service and enjoy food at S'Pfandl. The location has two parts. The street level…read morewhich is more casual and the upper level which a bit more fancy, but still very relaxed. The dinning on the first floor is more my style and the staff is more professional. The staff is also very helpful and works great with kids. We have yet to have a bad experience and my all time favourite is the S'Pfandl Spiess. The downstairs area is a bit smaller, but upper section can also be book for larger groups, parties and even has a cool looking bar.

Read to the end Very nice inside local restaurant. Server…read more was very good and he was fluent in English. We shared the salad and my girlfriend had the Sea Bass and I had the Boiled beef with root vegetables. The potatoes that came with my boiled beef was very good it's hard to explain it was almost a mix of boiled diced potatoes with hashbrowns mixed up in a lump. Im sure my description because I don't cook is incorrect but it was very good. Also we given starter of free a taster of sliced ham butter and bread. Then we got the bill and we were shocked to see we were charged 6 € for what we thought was a free starter. My girlfriend's a vegetarian and she would've never ordered ham and bread.. then there was a guy pushing a liquor cart around and I asked him what that big bottle was on the bottom of the cart and he said would you like to try a small bit? My girlfriend said no and I said sure if it's a sample but then later we were charged 9€ I don't mind paying for things and if it wouldn't have been for these two scams, he would've gotten a five star review. I can assure you that there is no fine liquor that's only five years old and it's served in a 2 L bottle as your server made it seem like it was something overly special. If I wanted a shot, I would've ordered a shot of something I would've preferred. I travel all over the world and I've never been charged a table fee that your server basically explain the starters were. I followed up with the hotel that's near. Your restaurant asked the receptionist if she had ever heard of this and she said she is born and raised here and I've only seen restaurants in Italy do this. I would recommend that you don't do this even if you need to raise your prices and you would've gotten a five star review but because of this, I would never recommend going to your restaurant. It's not the cost. It's the fact of the hidden cost. Just because it's on your menu I didn't read the cost of every item on the menu. I only read the items that I wanted to purchase so please don't use that as an excuse. I didn't read everything above and below the desserts and the nonalcoholic section or about the appetizer so to hide something on your menu to later say that it's on your menu is highly dishonest.

The dish was perfectly cooked with potatoes and cranberry compote to go with. Certainly if you pair it with a nice hefeweizen you will enter a state of bliss for the night. During the week at lunch time the restaurant is fully booked by people form the nearby industrial zone. Better come here in the evening, when it is more calm. But even then its wise to reserve a table (smoking/non-smoking areas available). In summer time you can sit outside. Theres a playground for children outside (not too big, but usually good enough to enjoy one of the desserts without). A big private parking for guests is in front of the door - but sometimes full. They offer good service, excellent food at very reasonable prices.
