Wonderful Service I stayed here while doing some training…read moreat Spangdahlem Air Base. The reservation was maintained by the company who hired me, and the Biehl's were very kind and helpful. I inquired ahead of time about bringing my 20-lb dog and was told it would be no problem. I had to lock him up in his crate if I wanted the room cleaned, otherwise he was able to be free in my room (he's totally house trained). The restaurant served very delicious food and the dining room was waited on by Mr. Biehl himself. The beds are comfy, the shower is a nice size, the kitchen is readily equipped, the balconies have a nice view of the hills and the train station, and the location is nice and quiet. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Biehl's! UPDATE: I recently stayed again and had to share more information. As with last time, the Biehl's allowed me to bring my dog with me. However, this time I had to leave the hotel much earlier in the day (5:40 am) and my dog ended up barking way too much and disturbing other guests (I was terribly embarrassed). The Biehl's were incredibly kind in offering to help me problem-solve the situation, as I was about ready to simply drive the 1.5 hours one way to take the dog back home. The hotel has a small, separate building that has been unused this season, and they offered to let my dog stay in there while I'm away during the day - it was safe for the dog, calm and quiet for the other guests, and a HUGE relief for me! I cannot express my gratitude adequately enough! I would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone, as I have had only positive experiences here. Many thanks to Dirk and Nicole!!!

It's on one end of very few roundabouts in Bastogne, above a gas station. The gas station market is basically a mini grocery store and has more than what you'd expect inside of a gas station, such as produce, fresh baked goodies, and more. It was the perfect spot to spend the night before our full day WWII tour the next day! We were well-rested, and breakfast gave enough energy to last us until lunch.

Le Merceny is a unique and unusual motel to say the least. I say that in a positive way. It is…read morelocated in Bastogne and is on top of a large convenience store/gas station in town. I stayed here for one night while visiting Bastogne and have nothing but good things to say about it. It consists of 8 rooms on top of the store. The motel lobby is located connected to the store. The room floor can only be accessed thru the lobby or by a special door on the side of the building only accessible by the guests room key. My room had a foyer entrance, a large bathroom with an American size walk in shower (that means it was large) and then a large bedroom. The room windows face the rear of the building and my room was very quiet. The room was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. Parking was in front of the building with cameras monitoring the car spaces 24/7. Besides, I don't think there is that much crime in Bastogne. The store below is very well maintained and is like a small grocery store including a bakery/restaurant that serves food. I remember seeing an employee using a machine to wash the floor. The store is convenient because if you need anything you can just walk downstairs to get it as long as it is before 10 pm because that is when they close for the evening, You can walk to Place McAuliffe in about 5 minutes so Le Merceny is in a good location. When I checked in the female manager showed me my room to make sure it was satisfactory to me. Excellent customer service. If I returned to Bastogne, this is where I would want to stay.
