PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.
Found this place by accident as I was in search of a coffee house. The neighboring coffee house wasn't open, so I ventured in here. It's got a very relaxed atmosphere; not too casual, nor swanky - somewhere in the middle.
This place is located a street back from the harbor, so I expected it to be a bit touristy, but it wasn't at all.
The wait staff were very friendly, didn't mock my German language skills (always star-worthy) and were very attentive.
Burgers are not something I order with any frequency in Germany, mainly because the cattle aren't really raised for meat (more for dairy) and it doesn't have much flavor. I was in for a long train ride, so I thought I'd take a chance and order something outside of my comfort zone. The classic burger was served with some kind of salsa on it and it was super. I would order it again, if there were a local place that served it.
For a good-sized burger, fries and two cappuccinos, the total was about 23.00 Euros. Not bad at all! read more
