The hike from the parking lot took about three quarters of an hour. Just enough of an effort to develop a thirst. We grabbed a table on the south facing terrace and enjoyed the late afternoon sun setting behind us with the rolling landscape in front of us and a sweeping view of the Alps beyond. We enjoyed a nicely prepared meal including a cheese and cured meat platter, tasty macaroni and cheese dish, fresh mixed salads and some lovely local wine. Nice relaxed atmosphere. The place is a bit rustic but authentic.

The terrace allows a great view over the lake to the mountains in Switzerland. However, one day was cloudy with bits of rain - this was the day we visited the thermal baths across the road. If you're into wellness then you get anything you like from massages to facials and relaxation exercises. It is also worth mentioning the excellent food of chef Michael Off. His speciality is local fish from the lake combined with some lovely side dishes. The only thing to criticise would be the distance to the centre which is about 5-10 min to walk. Its a nice walk along the lake, but could be a bit far for elderly people. Overall, we can only recommend this family-run hotel.
