Excellent food, good service, friendly staff! Had the schnitzel with curry and pineapple, which was excellent. Of course, a banana split as dessert. read more

Krone in Au

I had the vegetarian thali, which came with awesome tandoori roti, alu gobi, dal makhani and raita. The dal was fantastic. I would not change a thing. The Alu could have used a bit more spice, but was flavorful. And the roti - it would hold it's own anywhere in India. The server was slightly aloof, and it took a bit to get his attention, but other than that everything was awesome!

CB had the vegetarian thali and I had the non vegetarian thali. The Nan was outstanding perfectly done. The dal makhni was like they make it in Calcutta and unlike any I tasted in Los Angeles. The Gobi was cooked to perfection. The rogan gosht was perfect without the gaminess of the lamb. The amritsari chicken while I have never eaten before was also quite good. Cap it off with some masala chai perfectly spiced with cardamom - you cannot ask for a better place to eat Indian food. I only wish we had them in LA instead of all the way here in Austria

Interesting and kind of humorous, but not if you are sharing a room with someone! Unless you want your roomie to see you showering and sitting on the toilet, they'll have to leave the room. My room was on the first floor above the restaurant area and I heard every single person talking and slamming their room doors all night and morning. It was extremely loud and disrupting. The restaurant had very good food, but as usual I wasn't impressed with the typical European breakfast that lacked any hot foods. There is a small lot across from the hotel if you drove here.
We didn't stay here, but the food was so good, we ate two days in a row…read more The first night we turned up without a reservation, and unfortunately there was no room in the restaurant. No problem though, they lead us through to the bar and we able to sit at a high table there. The barman, Jannis, was a star, he got drinks orders, brought menus and even helped to describe certain items on the menu (which was in Austrian) and make suggestions. Not bad for someone who doesn't actually work in the restaurant and therefore may not have complete knowledge. The food was excellent, my pork medallions were beautifully cooked, lovely and tender and the Spaetzel, although not quite a fan, was some of the best I'd had. Similar findings were had by my group. We decided then that we'd book again for the next night and he was happy to sort us out. Jannis was surprisingly there to greet us the next day, and we were shown into the restaurant itself. On this occasion we decided to have starters, I had a wonderful beef broth with liver spaetzel, followed by beef stew with green beans and bacon - heavenly. We were wondering about dessert and were told of 2 specials, apple crumble and apple strudel - I opted for the strudel and a large slice of it was brought - obviously made on premises and with almost no currents in sight. I don't know when I will be skiing in Warth again, but I will be stopping in here when I do!
