The restaurant has a popular following with locals, the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The two among us who ordered "Leberei" (three kinds of liver pressed in the shape of an egg and deep-fried) were unhappy with the consistency of the meat which fell apart and was difficult to handle. One of us had Sauerbraten with which she was pleased and I had a Hosteiner Schnitzel for which the restaurant is supposed to be reknowned. We were cautious about the beer because two of us were driving and I respect this in Germans who are far more cautious than Americans about their intake when they know they will be behind the wheel.
