The large forest like garden surrounding the actual building is dotted with various seating areas and a full bar smack in the middle of it. Perfect for warm summer nights under the stars. sometimes there are concerts on the small stage in the garden. The inside of the building features a huge antique bar, a large main room that even has an upstairs seating area from which you can observe the lower level. The decor is ecclectic and gives you almost a speakeasy feel. The menu is small but still has someting for all tastes. But the reason to come here are the craft cocktails... Traditionally eaten doused in butter or Hollandaise sauce or in a vinaigrette as salad. If you happen to be in the southern part of Germany, you have to try it. As a side it usually comes with potatoes, but generally offered with a small Schnitzel or some Brats also. Personally I indulged in Schaschlik mit Pommes. Basically a Shish-kabob with fries. The local variation comes with assorted veggies on the skewer along with the pork and it comes doused with Schaschlik sauce, which has some tomato and bell peppers in it and is perfect for dipping your fries into in lieu of ketchup. Of course this place also offers such things as potato dumplings, pork roasts, Wiener Schnitzel, Brats and so on.

Lots of local favorites, but also those from other areas. I finally decided on a particular Weizen, but as luck would have it they were out at the moment. The server brought out two other Weizen with similar qualities and highlighted the differences and similarities to my original choice. Perfect. And since they know their beer very well, you can rest assured that you will get the proper glass or mug to go with your beverage. We spend a lovely evening outside.
