I'm praying for the worship team as it is not up to my expectations for churches this large and I e been around excellent worship many years. I'm also aware how difficult it is for appropriate transition when churches grow larger and many new people with experienced expectations show up and the band and sound grew hasn't grown in talent and experience along with the pastor and larger crowd. Pastor Mark is the draw that overcomes my hesitation for attending Vrs just watching my DFW church online. Honestly, it's the music isn't better anywhere else in this area that I've found. So, you definitely want to come. I love that Jesus and His truth is taught. It's a spirit filled church and that's important.

For the Wednesday and Thursday of Holy Week, this church hosted a Passover meal where others in the…read morecommunity were invited. It was more focused on the Last Supper, and lessons from that. I've been to others where they actually guide you through the Passover rituals. The people here seemed nice, and they have a great facility, and the parking lot was adequate. I'd love to come if they host this event again next year. I could come back to visit sooner, if I hear they have a program or class for singles, young professionals, and/or college students.

I visited them on Mother's Day, while the rest of my family was out of town. The people were nice…read moreand friendly, and they have a choir, as well as a smaller deco for the kiddos. They have more classes and even a gym in the back. I was pretty impressed with how much bigger the church was on the inside than it looked on the outside. I also like their worship times, since they are good for those out at the lake, who may want to sleep in more on weekends. Class starts at 9:45am, while worship starts at 10:45am. I'd love to come back and try one of the classes sometime, to see if they have anything for young professionals, singles, or even college-age students. Thank you, Lake Athens Baptist Church!

I just love coming & being part of this church! I moved from Midland to Athens in late September…read more2014. The people at this church have been so wonderful for my family & me. It may be smaller than the church where I grew up, but it was easier for me to get connected. Even though I'm as single as they come, I've already felt at home in a small group made up of a few singles, but mostly young couples & young families. Some Sundays I'm working, but I'm able to come to small group, even if I can't make it to church morning worship. Thank you, Eastern Hills family!

The two times I have visited have been on Sunday evenings…read more Some bigger churches skip the Sunday evening worship and use that time to meet in small groups, maybe at individual's homes. This is one of those churches that is small enough they may not need to do that, so it's nice and convenient to be able to find them. They also offer the "make-up communion" in the evening for anyone who may have missed it in the morning. It's also nice to be with a church that actually uses the song books. I'd love to visit them again, either on Wednesday evenings (6pm) or Thursday morning ladies' class (10am), or even some Sunday morning (Class at 9am, Worship at 10am) when the rest of my family is out of town.
