this is the high school i went to!…read more i can't say i loved every minute but i really feel that pretty much all of the staff here make it their best interests to ensure you achieve your full potential and are genuinely concerned about each students welfare. yes its a big school but staff take time to know everyone as an individual. you feel like an valued person rather than a name on a register. the teaching standards are good (some teachers are better than others, that is a given) for those who struggle to learn or have major behaviour problems there is this wonderful facility called 'the bridge' which is essentially an area of school where these students are taught in an environment where they will flourish rather than being shoved in a classroom and shouted at. verdict: when i have children i want them to come here

The school is small - in many ways like a village school - and therefore all the children know each other. Positive behaviour and attitude are encouraged by all staff. When new children start in reception, they are put under the guidance of their own year 6 buddy. This helps the new kids settle in, and helps the older ones to develop even more responsibility. All in all, a superb school.

There was an introduction period in July where she went one morning a week to meet the teachers and her new friends and get used to the school so it was less daunting in September. Her learning capacity had increased immensely and the teaching staff are really lovely so far so good! As the school is relatively small so there is more focus on the children, no matter what year the kids are in they talk to each other.

The school environment is wonderful with a woodland area, lots of green spaces with flowers and plants, climbing frames and imaginative play areas. I have two children at this school both have excelled my expectations gaining greater depth in subjects and are pushed to achieve rather than left to coast along. The classes my children are in have been incredibly friendly. my daughter was a quiet shy girl when she first started and now she has many many friends and has become an outgoing and friendly 7 year old. This has been supported by the teaching staff who seek to support children with their peer relationships and encourage children to work together and problem solve in groups in class. The after school opportunities are vast and impressive from sporting, arts, gardening, science, crafting, forest school club and also they have their own after and before school club for wrap around care. I would always encourage anyone who asks to go and take a look around and see for themselves what a wonderful school this is.

The Nursery recently expanded their nursery care due to increased demand for childcare from their Abbey Place centre in the town. As a Privately run day nursery you can choose to place your child for a full day or half day. I used the nursery for my youngest child for a few months before she started the school nursery and found that the atmosphere within the nursery was very friendly, with professionally qualified staff. The nursery takes places for babies up to preschool age. For my daughter at two I found there were a lot of constructive activities and lots of free time too. I like the way my daughter could draw or write with the aid of staff or just wonder around from one activity to another. There is a play out area to play too.Gonzukas provides pre-school and after school care, from 8am until 6pm. As part of the care you can have your child taken and collected from school.
