However, it…read morepains us to say we were extremely disappointed today, to the point where we do not even know if we will ever return. Here are the 'whys'... 1. Today's sermon was focused on 1 Thessalonians, 5:14 - not based on the King James Bible, but rather (we suspect) from the corrupt New King James Bible. Notice below the profound differences between the KJV and NKJV Bibles in respects to 1 Thessalonians 5:14 - KJV - "Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men." NKJV - "Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all." a. First of all, "Feebleminded" (mental state) and "Fainthearted" (regarding character) DO NOT mean the same thing. b. Secondly, "Support" and "Uphold" also DO NOT mean the same thing, given the context of the verse used. * To use anything but the King James Version (KJV) Bible is extremely dangerous, because as the old saying goes, "...the Devil IS in the details". - For more, please take the time to watch the following film on YouTube called "New World Order Bible Versions" here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFtI_mVOXbQimportant - for it will lay out and explain a great many things that are critical to any and all true Christians. 2. As with the other Baptist churches we've attended, there is far too much music/singing, and not enough preaching at all. For example, from the start of today's morning service until the scriptures were finally read, nearly 35 minutes had lapsed. Why? One would think the opposite, where they would cut it all in half and seriously step-up on the preaching and soul-winning because most who attend are already saved, right? b. Then there's the ridiculous amounts of ritualistic standing and sitting. Today we even heard several of the church's regular parishioners around us angrily grumbling as such vocally. c. They also stand for the reading of the scriptures. Why not have an honorary church member read the sermon-based scriptures while sitting so as to facilitate following along? One would think they would consider that sometimes "Comfort" does equal "Concentration". In addition, there are a good number of elders who attend the services, albeit they use the disclaimer "If you are able to..." The above "Ritualistic" services are not exclusive to Calvary Baptist Church, for it is all practically the same with the other churches we have visited so far. Seems we will have to continue looking for a new, hard-preaching King James Bible ONLY church home.
