Nice place to visit with the family. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to the gator feeding. That was pretty cool. The staff were knowledgeable about the gators and gave a lot of info about them. It was really fun to feed the animals, especially the kangaroos.

If you're looking for something different and fun for the whole family, I suggest checking out Gators and Friends! We took our 3 year old and two 2 year olds and they were able to walk around with ease and we never felt like they were unsafe. They had so much fun as did we! This place didn't break the bank and the staff was very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable! We can't wait until our next trip back.

One of the goats with curling feet.

The animals lack care. There are WAY too many gators together in one space. Missing feet, swollen and injured legs, a few so skinny they look like death. The workers said they get vet care, but I don't see how with animals in that condition. When they were feeding, she would dangle it in front of them and make them jump, three of them fell into the wooden fence trying to get the food. Every goat needs their feet trimmed. Some so bad they are curling under. The ponies are were saddled waiting in the sun the entire time we were there and the sheep need to be sheered. It is still summer. The alpaca and llamas need their feet trimmed badly, and one of them has a fungal infection on its face. I talked with several employees. They all claimed the best care. I saw no one outside cleaning pens, filling water, or education patrons. It is obviously a money grab. Akin to a tiger king situation. They have go carting and zip lining for christ sake.

What a fun time! For $2.50 you get big feed cups and you can walk around feeding goats, deer, kangaroos, llamas, alpacas, zonkeys, a massive Scottish highlander, and more. I even went back and bought more feed, because it is so fun to pet the animals as they come up for food. There is a very cool, scheduled alligator feeding. Also there is the opportunity to pet and take pictures with a small alligator as well. I enjoyed my trip very much and got a lot of laughs at the Scottish highlander. He might be my new best friend! He is worth the trip alone. The only drawback is you can't go into the pens with the animals like you can at some petting zoos. The staff was very kind and they look like some hard workers. It isn't a huge zoo but it is good for a morning trip for sure!

We really enjoyed this stop on our trip to Houston. There were a wide variety of animals, opportunities to feed them, plus we got to hold a baby alligator. That was a highlight for sure. We saw deer, gators, goats, geese, highland cattle, capybara, and red kangaroos. Great bang for your buck in terms of entertaining kids.

Every time we come here it's an amazing experience! We were unable to zip line but it was worth the trip like always friendly staff and a non crowded relaxing environment!

So many gators and so much fun! I loved it, my family loved it! We will definitely be coming back!! Lots of cool animals! I can't wait to try the zip lines!

They have a really well developed petting zoo! I came for the gator zip lining, but I'm glad I paid the extra few bucks for general admission while I waited.

There aren't an awful lot of things to do in the Shreveport area , but this is one of them, and it is a good one. This attraction is a bit of a throwback from the 1970s era of attractions. I'm going to use the word cheesy, but I use it as a term of endearment and as a compliment. There are more alligators in a small area than I have ever seen in my life. And I've been to a lot of places that have alligators. Walking around the property and watching the alligators, and seeing them all converge when it is feeding time is a sight to be seen. You can also hold a small baby alligator, and have your picture taken with it this is also another worthwhile experience. You can get a cup of animal feed, and when you walk the grounds there are many animals that you can look at and feed by hand. Some of the animals that I recall being there are boats, llamas , cows , camels , and maybe a few others. This is kind of a Cheesy petting zoo, and the alligator part is a little bit on the cheesy side too. This ladies and gentleman is good cheesy though :-) The other part of this attraction is zip-lining. The zip lining is an absolute blast. There are seven different ziplines you can enjoy, and if you are unsure about doing all of them, you can stop at 3 and enjoy the rest of the attraction. In sum, the price is right for this place, the attraction is really neat, the staff is terrific, and with the upgrade of ziplining, this makes for a perfect afternoon for friends and family alike. If it is a hot day you must stop in to the snack shop and get yourself a snow cone :-) If you're in this area stop in and enjoy this attraction!

This may sound a bit strange but of all those aquariums I enjoy the Shreveport aquarium the most. It's just a enjoyable place to chill out and recharge. When we visit massive, hundred million dollar aquariums, we are often herded through the exhibits with hundreds of people. It is hard to truly enjoy an aquarium in that type of environment. Plus, how many fish do you really want to see? At the Shreveport aquarium my wife and I will often sit in the first opening gallery for 10 or 15 minutes. Soft instrumental music is playing and the fish are gingerly pecking at a coral reef or playing with one another. If a loud child and family comes in all you have to do is wait about 90 seconds and they will pass through. Enjoy their excitement and sense of wonder. We can also spend 10 minutes at the Shark Tank and another 10 or 15 minutes with the stingrays. Most of the other exhibits we view a little more quickly. Sometimes a staff member is eager to tell you about a new addition or some type of exciting aquatic behavior. This is a small aquarium, but what it has, it does very well. If you go, take the time to pause and chill out an among the hundreds of finny creatures. This is a different type of aquarium experience. Check the website for feeding times. My wife and I each have an annual pass which cost $50 a year each. It is well worth it.

I think, we took our time and still did everything in like 30 mins. It's such a shame since the surrounded area was BEAUTIFUL! I thought the gemstone area was cool. Not sure if I would consider it part of the aquarium. This is very comparable to and equally as disappointing as the sea life aquarium in downtown San Antonio. Save your money and time. If you're anywhere near Corpus Christi go to the Texas State Aquarium. That is what a true aquarium should be, and it's by far the most fun and worth every dime! This is a place for toddlers in our opinion. The highlight was hand feeding rays. That's it, didn't ruin our trip thanks to the rest of the cool places around! Don't waste your time or money here.

Having never had a Stuffed Turkey Leg before with a sauce on it, J and G both say this was excellent food. All of these were excellent and we loved all 3. We would go back for these or to try the other regular types or the special ones at times they announce on Facebook. This is good food. Once I arrived in the women's restroom the gal ahead of me opened three stall doors until she found one that was okay. Not sure what the problem was but if she wasn't going in neither was I! Bit of a smell too but as a seasoned road-tripper I had no complaints; the areas I encountered were clean and functioning. Probably the most stalls I've ever seen in a visitor center/rest stop. Husband reported a smell in the men's room but he knows why based on the accompanying sound effects coming from one of the stalls. Me: Really, that happens in men's restrooms? Most of the people working and managing this zoo were so lovely and kind. I really like that they give you a cone of animal feed with the purchase of your ticket (I bought 3 tickets, so I got 3 cones)! The feed really incentivizes the animals to come say hello. At this petting zoo they also have a cute splash pad, which my daughter loved and it's perfect for a cool down. Additionally, there is also a giant bouncy house in the shade. It's perfect to get the kids all sorts of stimulation. Most importantly, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE HAY RIDE! It is worth making sure you catch the hay ride through the property as you get to see additional, much larger animals. Not only are the animals miraculous, but they come running over bc you get to feed them! The hay ride was absolutely one of my favorite parts. The only drawback during my time there was upon initially entering the office for admittance there was someone bleaching a cage. I was trying to get instructions from the staff and my daughter, who has autism, strayed over to the cage area despite me continuously telling her to come back. I got a hold of my daughter and directed her away from the area when suddenly an employee (volunteer?) sort of got in my face telling me she can't be over there and she needs to listen or something. I was like I understand, but my daughter doesn't understand due to her disability. I'm not sure she meant to come off as harsh as she did, but if you've ever tried to get instructions and control two kids at once sometimes you need a little grace from people. Other than that encounter, I found this to be a lovely outing and a great experience.
