The hostess, Carla, was extremely rude and unprofessional. Despite my party arriving on time for our reservation, she repeatedly ignored us while seating several parties who arrived after us. When she finally acknowledged us, she proceeded to seat us at what was easily one of the worst tables in the restaurant . Which included stains on the seats for a €100+ restaurant the bare minimum would be having decent staff and clean seats. That being said Cristian our waiter was phenomenal. He was attentive and provided excellent service and the dancers and overall atmosphere was entertaining. The food was good. Carla's attitude and treatment of us overshadowed the rest of the experience. Because of that, I would not recommend this place or ever return. Save your money. read more

DO NOT SPEND YOUR DOLLARS HERE! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT! We are here on vacation with a group of 45. We all made separate reservations but came as a group since the place booked us all at 9pm. We read the dress code on the website and it says "no flip flops" and "no athletic shoes." Nothing said "no sandals" and definitely nothing said "you must wear heels." We get to the establishment - which didn't even open on time. They made us stand in line for 20 minutes. As we all approach the door, the glorified bouncers decide we can't come in because we're wearing "flip flops." Allegedly. NONE OF THE LADIES have on flip flops - we're all wearing dressy sandals - flat sandals, but dressy/nice. The bouncers then proceed to go to the back of the line and get all the white patrons and bring them inside - many of them wearing both athletic shoes/sneakers (dirty ones at that) or flat sandals (some white girls even had on the EXACT SAME SHOES as some of the ladies in our group)! We asked to speak to the manager. She came out and acknowledged us for about 2 minutes then quickly ran back inside. I should make it known that the lighter-skinned folks in our group were allowed in for their reservation - even the ones with flat sandals. It's evident Gatsby is incredibly wealthy and incredibly racist because they just turned away 45 BLACK patrons. They evidently don't need our coins and they don't need yours. If I could give Gatsby Barcelona zero stars, I would. My friends and I had a dinner reservation, and what should have been a fun night turned into a disgusting and humiliating experience. One of my friends was blatantly discriminated against and denied entry simply because he is gay. The staff tried to claim we were "a little late" as an excuse, but we were delayed due to the massive crowds and transportation issues from the soccer game that night. We clearly communicated that, but they showed no understanding or flexibility. Instead, they dismissed us coldly and made it very obvious that we were not welcome. What makes this even worse is that right after, we saw other guests walk up and be let in immediately--ropes lifted, warm smiles, no questions asked. The only difference? They fit the look Gatsby was going for. My friend, as a gay man, did not. Let's be honest: if he weren't gay, we would have been allowed in. This wasn't about timing. It was pure discrimination, and it's absolutely unacceptable. Gatsby Barcelona should be ashamed. This kind of behavior needs to be called out and held accountable. To all my tourists who plan on going to this place, read up and learn from my failure. I booked this place for my wife and I to enjoy thinking it was going to be some great food and a show, but boy were we in for a unappetizing treat! First off the price tag is way too pricy for what you get. $150 per person minimum! And you still have to pay even if you don't meet it. Second the food was mediocre at best. Everything they have, you can make your self by shopping at Costco. My food was cold believe it or not. Thirdly the service is very rushed and trash. I ordered my wife a mojito and waited about 30min before I was PO asked where it is. They apologized and said "oh we can only make vodka, gin, or whiskey drinks now since it's past a certain time. Really? I had to flag them down to inform me about this. Trash!! Fourth the shows you've been waiting to hear about. Ok let me start by saying we were excited to check out some 1920 style shows right? WRONG!! You get nothing by westernized music like a songs by Michael Jackson, random grease, random ass greatest showman movie, etc...oh and striper poles that popped out of the ceiling. It honestly was very random and nothing 1920 Gatsby besides "decor". Oh and lets not forget that I didn't even get to see half of the show cause my back was facing the stage, and there are big stool tables in the middle that block your view even if you turn around. So you guessed it, even though you paying $150 a person you aren't even guaranteed a view. They do walk around sometimes. Now let's get to the dress code. I don't even know how they require this crap. I wore a nice black suit and my wife in a nice black dress. They say on the site it is recommended and enforced or something like that. Well I saw dudes in jeans and Tees. What a joke! This place is trying to create something that doesn't work at all for them!! A dinner, show, and club???? Yeah right!!! You aren't Vegas or NY! You start by eating then it gets dark and a weird show happens if you can see it. Then it stops and the lights come on. This Happens for like 4 times I think?.. well after that all of a sudden it gets super loud and I guess the "club" happens. This is where you were eating with tables everywhere!!!! Really? It was very weird and even uncomfortable. We didn't understand what the hell was going on. Instead of going to this tourist trap, you can literally take your partner to a Michelin Star restaurant and then go out dancing. Such a waste of money. The concept of this restaurant is great. Unfortunately, the service is terrible for people of color. We sat by and watched for nearly two hours as all of the tables around us were waited on, brought food and drinks. We repeatedly kept asking for service only to be ignored or for our orders to never come out. This was such a disappointment, considering we went there for our friends 40th birthday. Gatsby is the go-to place where I take my special out of town guests. Most importantly: they have their own parking garage right below. Door men, receptionists, coat check staff and servers are professional, friendly and good looking. What makes this place so amazing is the combination of amazing shows with young, talented and beautiful artists, great food and wine pairing (4 stars), and the young, well dressed equally good looking audience (I admit they got me here: But I do prefer beauty over ugly). The shows are a mix of dancing, singing (spectacular voices) of popular songs but remixed making them even better than the originals and stunning acrobatic performances (think Absinthe in Vegas). Everything in style! Where in the world do you find so many amazing artists that are that good looking? [spoiler alert: Ukraine and Russia]. Each segment is short (5-8 minutes) with 10-15 minute breaks - just enough to enjoy the next course or rave about this amazing show and how well a place like this would do in LA or Paris. The best part is the vibe. Everybody is friendly and makes you feel welcomed. Noteworthy also is that they change the show and artists every few months so even locals always have a reason to come again. For everybody else it's a reason to visit Barcelona. We made reservations well in advance, only to be denied entry because of my mother's shoes, which she wears for medical reasons. This was not a matter of choice but necessity. Shockingly, we saw other patrons being admitted wearing sneakers, including Converse and Jordans. This inconsistency made us feel racially profiled and deeply disrespected. Visited Gatsby for a friends bday, we're from Florida & we arrived on time and we're first in-line, although other people still got seated before us. We let it go since we're a party of 7, we FINALLY got seated then it took 30 mins to get a simple drink. The server wasn't interested in checking in on us nor did they provide all the items we requested. After waiting so long we asked for the check and just cancel the last couple of drinks that we had been waiting on. I'm not sure what the issue was but the whole experience was extremely subpar & if your from America if recommend maybe Hookai or something. This place isn't worth the hype or price! We went to Gatsby for dinner one night in Barcelona to celebrate my sister's birthday. There are two sections: one that has Mediterranean food and a dinner show and the other section is a Japanese restaurant. If you want to attend the dinner show, I recommend making reservations in advance. Our group of four was unable to get reservations for that night, so we ate dinner in the Japanese restaurant section. It was very yummy!!! You definitely need to dress elegant. There were people who attended the dinner show in a full length dress. We then came back to Gatsby hours later when the dinner show was over. It opened up to a night club. Super fun!!! We were looking for a great restaurant, where we can watch a show while eating. What we found was the "Gatsby". When you think about "Gatsby", normally you think about the 1920th. The show was really really bad. They have always one "act", after that around 15 minutes nothing. The show was a mixture of a bad Rihanna-copy, some Jazz and Michael Jackson. So absolutely nothing what you expect in such a restaurant. The food was really really expensive and not really good. The service was friendly but quite slow. We went there on a wednesday, so there was not much to do for the staff. The look of the restaurant is really awesome, the rest was really just average. read more

This is a really fun experience, especially for big groups who are celebrating a birthday, bachelorette party, etc. The cocktails are fantastic and the show is great! Was in Barcelona a couple weekend ago and wanted to go out dancing on a Saturday night but not anywhere crazy or just playing electronic music. Friend who used to live in Barcelona recommended this place and it was perfect for an American New Yorker like me who wanted to go somewhere stylish with great music. Didn't come for dinner, just arrived for dancing at around midnight. There is a 15 euro cover fee but it includes one free drink at the bar (I got a glass of rose). The music was soooo good--mix of current pop and hip hop and they have some "dance performances" on platforms throughout the night. Was able to coat check and the space was nice, not terribly crowded but busy. A mix of ages (I'm 40 but didn't feel like the crowd was too young or old). Anyway was great for the night of dancing I was looking for and not being trampled over or dealing w bad staff. Place closes early like 3 pm. Stayed until about 2:30. read more
