First round of steaks, including the best one: filet mignon
    Brett N.

Why 4 stars? Because the overall experience was a good one. --- --- --- 5 stars for the service 4 stars for the buffet of sides 3 stars for the meat For my birthday dinner, I was scouring my bookmarks and ultimately landed on Gauchos Do Sul. It had been a while since we'd been to a Brazilian Steakhouse and they are generally a safe bet to get your money's worth, considering the AYCE nature of these places. I was very impressed with what a well oiled machine the service was. Everyone working here was hustling and efficient. Everything was brought out at such a high rate of speed, we were convinced that there was a hidden camera at our table and a manager barking out commands to his staff. At one point, my wife said, "I wish they had cooked shrimp", and in less than 10 seconds, a guy came by with shrimp on his skewer. The buffet had some hits: the cocktail shrimp, the bacon, the salmon, the corn. Everything else was just okay. If I could go back in time, I would have just gotten those four things and skipped the rest. Not that anything was bad, but stomach space is at a premium here. I will also say that I ordered a coconut caipirinhas and it was amazing. I will definitely be on the lookout for this drink in the future. And shoutout to the bread too - that Brazilian cheese bread is always a hit. But as for the meat... the filet mignon was definitely awesome and the clear star of the show. The rest of it was mostly just okay. Again, with the benefit of hindsight, I would have literally just piled my plate with filet mignon and been quite happy. Maybe add a couple grilled shrimp in there too. Nothing else really stood out though. I disliked the beef ribs because they basically tasted like beef stew meat. And the parmesan pork was aggressively dried out. I am not a lamb person, so I won't hold that against them. If we ever return, I will follow my hindsight advice, but to be honest, I'd probably just opt for a steakhouse next time and experience quality over quantity.

Located inside vintage park. The restaurant is intimate and a bit less known then their counterpart. The service was great and all their meat selection was delicious! I was thoroughly impressed with my experience there. I definitely would come back here for another special occasion :)

I've never been to a Brazilian Steak House before but Gauchos Do Sul has placed the bar high! The restaurant's lighting is on the dimmer side and dress code is pretty casual/business casual. There are plenty of tables and seating- private rooms for reservations are located in the back. Restrooms are nice and clean with a classy décor. The soup/salad bar has a variety of different cold cuts, cheese, and veggies. They also have seafood like cocktail shrimp and salmon loxs. Out of everything I got, I really enjoyed their soup (I believe it was lobster bisque), bread, and roasted eggplant. Their appetizers were also fantastic- they had bread with cheese inside (super addicting/dangerous), polenta fries, mashed potatoes, etc. As for the meats, everything was solid. Definitely get their special (Picanha) and the Fraldinha. The other cuts of meat (i.e. ribeye, calf steak, chicken wings) were okay. But their seafood (shrimp and octopus) was a pleasant surprise! Something that I actually could not get enough of was their grilled pineapple. It has cinnamon sugar on top and the sweetness/acidity of the fruit paired very well with some of the fattier cuts of meat. As for dessert, you have an option of either tres leches cake, tiramisu, or churros. I ended up going with the churros which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The churros were perfectly fried and had a sweet crème filling. Even though I was so full by the time dessert came, the churros and ice cream were so good I ended up eating it all lol. Aside from the delicious food, the service here was fantastic! I appreciate how fast/diligent the servers were for our big group. Aside from making sure our plates were always full of meat, they were very attentive on our waters and taking away dishes that were no longer needed. Overall, my group and I had a fantastic experience here and I look forward to coming back here!

All I can say is wow Wow WOW! The service here was impressive. From the moment we were seated, the waitstaff were there handling everything. First was the drinks, followed by instructions on how to access the salad bar. The salad bar was unlike anything I have ever seen. There was lobster bisque, large boiled shrimp, every kind of green salad, breads & cheese, and so much more. The salad bar itself is a meal if you want and they sell it as such. They allowed us to bring our own dessert cakes for a celebration we had.

What a meal! If you do come here, you will need to come hungry. The salad bar was spectacular. There were all kinds of salads, lobster bisque (without any lobster), huge boiled shrimp, and too much else to mention. After I ate there, I told my waitress to change my order, and I'll skip the meat. I was too full. They also allowed us to bring our own cakes. The Brazilian drinks were great. Don't fill up too much on the puffy butter pop up rolls. Yes they are good, but filling.

The food here is incredible, of course. My youngest was celebrating her birthday, and she's a carnivore through and through, so here we are, lol. I get the salad bar, which is a huge thing. And, since it's Sunday brunch, there's a made-to-order waffle bar. The staff is so great, this is our go to celebration restaurant.

Gauchos Do Sul is a traditional Brazilian steakhouse with three Houston-area locations--Vintage Park in Tomball, Highland Village in the Galleria area, and their newest spot in Katy off the Grand Parkway. No matter which one you visit, they're committed to creating a memorable dining experience. They offer the full Brazilian steakhouse tradition: a beautifully stocked gourmet salad bar, delicious hot side dishes, and prime cuts of meat carved tableside. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the team truly treats you like family. The craft cocktails are fantastic, the food is full of flavor, and every visit feels special. On our visit, we enjoyed the beef empanadas and coxinha--both flavorful and perfectly prepared. Service was great, the waitstaff was on point, and even the restrooms were clean and well-kept. Gauchos Do Sul delivers an all-around excellent dining experience every time.

Ambiance: Brazilian steakhouse in Vintage Park that is nicely decorated with dim lighting, flowers, and upscale rustic touches. The set price includes the salad bar, unlimited cuts of meat, and dessert. The salad bar has amazing options including pasta salad, shrimp, potatoes, wedge salad, asparagus, and more. The wait staff is very fast and accommodating. Once you are ready, you flip your sign to green and very quickly receive various cuts of meats at your table. I enjoyed the prime rib and filet mignon the most! The sliced pineapple was also very good. For the price, the food is amazing quality and you will leave incredibly full/satisfied! Parking onsite in Vintage Park. Walking distance to other shops/bars/restaurants. Friendly staff. We went on Valentine's Day so it was quite crowded but we could tell they were doing a good job at managing many tables.

Really good all you can eat steak I especially recommend the bottom sirloin, they also had these things called jalapeño poppers, as well as shrimp. Although I will say it is really expensive it's $67.50 per person so this is a once in a while when I've saved up type of occasion. The staff were really nice and very attentive and the restaurant was well maintained and very high class. (dress nice.)

If you're looking for a great Churrasco experience closer to the Northwest side of town, look no more. This place has it all For $65/person (dinner and weekend price), you get an all you can eat experience. The service was friendly and group style , so several servers will come to your table. You get Brazilian bread as a starter & you can request the other hot appetizers that come with the buffet (rice, black beans, masked potatoes, and fried polenta) that are bright to the table. All other accompaniments are at the buffet. There are a variety of salads, veggies, cheeses, fruits, and some hot potatoes and plantains. There is so much to choose from. Make sure to leave room for the meats which are brought and carved onto your plate by the gauchos who bring them on skewers. Just absolutely delicious.

This photo is just for laughs, unsweetened ice tea for a Brazilian BBQ...made me laugh, so I'm sharing. The unseen food was excellent.

I was in the area for only one night, for there late afternoon and did not plan anything, so I roamed to find something to eat. And I found A LOT to eat. I walked by a few restaurant in this large shopping center, and this place actually looked closed. I asked a mall employee I saw walking around about good places to eat steak, I'm in Texas after all, and after a short interrogation season I realized this place was open. To make a tasty story short, it was great, pricy, but excellent quality food, great service, meat kept in coming, and all the extras and salad bar were great. To summarize, I ate too much. Come hungry.

Words won't do this place justice it stands up to it's reputation. Food, ambiance and service all scream upper echelon.

I had dinner here for a work event, and like all the Brazilian steakhouses I've had the privilege to dine in, the service, ambiance, and food were incredible. I was given two drink tickets as a courtesy for the event, but I gave them to a coworker since I was completely satisfied with my endless refills of non-alcoholic Brazilian lemonade. This steakhouse served cuts of all of my favorite meats, but when I asked a waiter if they had any garlic beef, he replied that they did not. I was completely okay with that, but he came back a few moments later with a single portion of garlic beef that the kitchen made especially for me. It was delicious. Because of this and the fantastic service throughout the night, I wasn't even upset when I left the restaurant and discovered my purse had meat juice all over (and inside) it. It is likely because I hung it off the side of my chair; but because there was hardly any space in the event room we were in, the waiters were in close contact with us and the backs of our chairs. It was hard to avoid a mess as they sliced the meat between myself and the people sitting to either side of me. I am not criticizing the waiters for this at all, but I wish I had been offered the option to use a bag rack. This doesn't deter me much as I'm already looking forward to my next visit here... but I'll skip bringing a purse next time.

It's not a large restaurant, especially compared to some of the other Brazilian steakhouses. The service was good. Overall, we had a good meal. The common theme is that compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, the selection at the salad bar as well as the meat selection is a bit more limited. That said, I enjoyed everything I chose from the salad bar. Regarding the meat selection, there were a couple that stood out: the picanha and the rib-eye were both very good. Everything else was so-so (the filet mignon in particular was pretty tough for that cut of meat). That said, I would rather go to a restaurant that does a couple of things well vs. everything just okay. One thing to note. I don't know how they do it, but the price is significantly lower that their competition (like ~30-35% lower). When you factor that in, this restaurant is quite reasonable for what they offer.

Grill beef stew, Mac n cheese, mash potatoes, to chicken salad, and many others. Ordering the drinks which should've been so simple became a verbal game of tug-a-war with words. All 3 ladies requested ice water with plenty of lemons for the table. The server asked if I wanted lemonade. No. I just want lemons. He kept asking for any other beverage which we continued to decline. I reminded him of my lemons over half a dozen times. I even asked other individuals who visit the table. Our server mentions jokingly that the lemons are coming in from Mexico, must be. Cause damn. Finally got lemons after downing/eating a few plates. I can't drink tap water without lemons, so eating without a drink drove me temporally insane. Dessert was delight. We had the cheesecake it was pretty! The manager Mister Randy, was very nice and apologize for the flaws of the evening. He offered a shot a Brazilian rum. Which had a little spice. But a memorable moment for this sister's circle, it was our first shot of Brazilian Rum together. We normally don't drink but it was a great way to clean up the shortcomings of this first time visit. Checking out time. The server who didn't want to bring my lemons place the checkbook on me and ran off. We definitely depart feeling loved by the management and the performer. They felt like dining at our Brazilian family members home Our server was just that mischievous cousin. We still had to wait 30 minutes. It was a Saturday night and Valentine's Day so it was busy and I get it. However, once we were sat, after nearly 2 hours, I only had about 6 pieces of meat. We didn't get offered half of the meat. Most of the meat we did get offered weren't even beef, mainly chicken, sausage, etc. Our cards were flipped to the green side the WHOLE time we were there, but servers were either skipping or just not even coming. Despite making eye contact. then, when we were offered certain meats, they would cut a slice for my s/o, but when it was my turn, the server would say "oh i have to get your cut from the back, I'll be right back" then never come back. This happened twice. By the 3rd time, i was clearly upset and that may have been the only reason the server actually came back that time. Our server also kept asking if we were just waiting on meat, in which we'd say yes just to still continue waiting. After THREE hours and still about 6 meats total, we requested the dessert menu - another 15 minutes just to get the menu to us. At this point, we ordered it and i asked to speak to the manager. I have never requested to speak to a manager at a restaurant before, that is how horrible this experience was. Again, had to wait for the manager to make his way to us. Once i explained to him my experience, his response in general was a very like "welp that sucks" attitude & didn't even seem really concerned. He offered to charge us as a "lite dinner" + drinks + dessert. Which I still dont even think is a fair resolution, because my dinner was their mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and 6 slices of meat. Even getting the check took time. God bless the host/hostess as they seem to be fighting for their life trying to get everyone seated. In the future, if there isn't availability, then they shouldnt be offering reservations they cannot honor. Will not be back and i definitely do not recommend the place.

My husband and I are huge steak lovers, so naturally we're regulars at Brazilian steakhouses. We've…read moretried many of them around Houston -- and honestly, Avenida stands out as the best when it comes to meat quality and variety of cuts, especially compared to other well-known Brazilian steakhouses in the same price range like Fogo de Chão and Gauchos Do Sul. Besides the typical cuts like picanha, top sirloin, bottom sirloin, and lamb chops, Avenida also offers Wagyu steak, ribeye, NY strip, salmon, shrimp, and even lobster soup. I prefer my steaks medium rare, and the meat was incredibly tender. My favorites were the top sirloin, lamb chops, and filet mignon. The service was phenomenal. They don't play the usual games that many Brazilian steakhouses do by bringing out the cheaper cuts first to fill you up. Instead, they consistently walk around serving a wide variety of meats throughout the meal, which really elevated the experience. Honestly, the only thing holding this restaurant back is the interior design and exterior appearance. I can barely notice the restaurant while driving by because the outside signage and overall presentation don't stand out. Meanwhile, Fogo de Chão (in Katy for example) catches attention immediately because the building and interior feel upscale and polished. Avenida seriously has better meat quality in my opinion, but the restaurant could benefit greatly from renovating the interior, improving the lighting, and creating a more modern and inviting romantic vibe. The food and service deserve a much busier crowd.

This establishment is unfortunately on the lower end of the scale…read more The concept is the same as any other Brazilian steakhouse. You have staff walking around, offering you different cuts of meat and even grilled cheese. There's a tiny selection of cold dishes and accompaniments- the pork belly was too hard to chew, the empanadas were cold and hard, they also had beans and rice and sushi... Can't recommend, I truly was hoping this would be an alternative as most other places are kind of far from the area.

Time to Appetizers: 20 minutes Time to Entree: 25 minutes Arrived at 2:30PM on a Saturday and were directed to sit anywhere. We sat near the buffet, which was a bit unclear. There was a live guitarist/singer playing which was a fantastic vibe. A complimentary basket of four pieces of cheese bread was brought out, excellent way to start the meal! For two people, we ordered: 2x Coxinha (3.5/5): While the chicken is a tad dry, it's complimented well by the creamy sauce 1x Kibe (3/5): Reminded me of a meatball crossed with a falafel, like something you'd order on a skewer. Not too grainy and a nice smoky flavor. 1x Risole de Camarao (4.5/5): I thought this was a better version of the Coxinha. The shrimp flavor really permeates and reminds you of a shrimp risotto in a single bite. Churrasco Gaucho (16oz) (2/5): We decided to get this to sample all of the meats. Unfortunately I thought everything was really salty. Maybe it's characteristic of the Brazilian grilling style, because the smoky flavors did come through, but it just felt too salty for me on everything. Honestly maybe it just needed some kind of vegetable besides beans to help offset. Whatever their chili sauce is (5/5): I have no idea what this is but it reminds me of mashed up bird eye chili sauce..it's really good. Sprinkle it on everything. Helps with the saltiness of things. Milk Flan (4/5): A rich custard style of flan, thick and very sharable. Not too sweet. I liked this as a great palate cleanser. Service was really prompt and friendly. Paid via inKind with no issues.
