History

Established in 1965.

Il KappaDue è conosciuto da sempre come ottima gelateria artigianale e famoso anche per la sua cioccolata calda e per la panna montata di produzione propria. Dal 2011, con l'avvento dei nuovi titolari Giorgio e Mauro, inizia un percorso di crescita anche come bar a tutto tondo e pasticceria. Il trasferimento nella nuova sede, più ampia e funzionale, dall'altro lato della strada nel novembre 2013 sancisce un'altra tappa importante nella storia del KappaDue, il suo passaggio definitivo da gelateria a locale polifunzionale e versatile che amplia la sua offerta proponendo anche un pranzo leggero e sempre variegato. La selezione di vini, pochi ma buoni, di cantine selezionate e le creazioni dei Barman accompagnano l'aperitivo "home made" sempre vario. Eventi musicali si alternano durante tutto l'anno spaziando da djset a gruppi musicali soul/funk fino a eventi one night con artisti di cabaret provenienti da tutta Italia.

Ottimo gelato ed eccellente servizio, nulla è lasciato al caso nella presentazione. Fanno una cioccolata da leccarsi i baffi; calda, densa ed AMARA, si sente che non è fatta con le buste. Ci è piaciuta la proposta dei prodotti slow food come i biscotti o i prodotti a km zero. Il mio ragazzo ha preso il gelato al chinotto di savona, BUONISSIMO! Gelateria Cesare is clearly the best place for gelato in Pavia…read more The taste and flavours are quite traditional, but the quality is high and prices reasonable (12.5 euro/kg in autumn 2008). My only criticism would be that gelato is slightly too creamy for my taste, but this is often the case, even in better places. My favorite flavours are Cassata, Caffe, Malaga and Yogurt, but other flavours I tasted were reliable as well. Proprietors are friendly, but difficult to communicate with without knowledge of Italian (still doable if one knows some basic, gelato-related words). Opening hours are inconvenient, with a big afternoon break, which is probably explained that Cesare is not a pure gelateria, but also a small café/bar. Definitely recommended, worth a trip from Milan (30 mins by train only).
