So the case of gelato that entices you from the street view wraps around and leads you back into seating off on the "right." Gelato Rajissimo is another name you might see in several locations throughout Copenhagen. This particular location is along is located just off of Gammeltorv (Old Market), the oldest square in Copenhagen, and along the Strøget (one of the longest European shopping streets). This is a simple stand that sells churros, gelatos, drinks (especially shakes using their gelato and sorbet), and waffles on a stick. We started our trip down the Strøget with getting our treats here. Another member of our group got the strawberry gelato and trying it, I have to say it has a pretty great texture. My family decided to try out the churros, having thought it might be easier to share than the curious waffle on a stick. The one with chocolate and vanilla soft serve, named the Mexican, and it was definitely easier to share but not easier to eat. Melty chocolate and ice cream everywhere, so we had to stop on the side street to finish it rather than eating as we were going as we meant to. My dad said it was the best churros he'd ever had, and I do think they were fried really well. I'm inclined to think the chocolate is a sauce rather than just melted chocolate, as it didn't harden or coagulate over time. However, it tasted purely of chocolate without the aftertaste you will sometimes get with chocolate sauces in particular. Hot churros and chocolate went WONDERFULLY with the cold soft serve. So while they have a lot of things that are great for hot days like when we were there (gelato, shakes, etc.), I can also see myself getting one of the hot waffles or churros here during the colder months. The churros themselves aren't very sweet, so I would definitely recommend it (with another kind of topping) to those who don't like things that are TOO too sweet. In the end, between everything they'd have, I would recommend getting the gelato, soft serve, sorbet, drink, or just any of the other things as long as it doesn't involve too much of the chocolate. Seriously, can't go into ANY of the stores with what we got. In terms of the gelato and soft serve I tried, both ice creams had great textures and lasted pretty well in the heat. Overall, very tasty and fun. A good spot to snack, though heads up that there are waffle and gelato places all along the Strøget, including another waffle place that's actually just a few stores down from here. read more

Obsessed!! The best snack ever. The churros were crispy and hot, and paired perfectly with the hot chocolate sauce. I love that the churros were tasty but not overly sweet either. The portion size is also pretty large so I was happy my husband was able to help me finish it. Overall insanely satisfying treat!! read more

Excellent churros! $35 DKK We passed by this place after dinner and they looked like they had awesome desserts! There was ice cream and these waffle like things on a stick, plus churros! I went with the churros with cinnamon sugar and they were delicious. Crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. The girl made them right in front of us and it was a really big box for $35 DKK. You know that street food place that you pass by and you feel like you should try it because the queue is long and the thing looks good? This is rajissimo. Street churros/waffle place with its signature soft serve on the pipping hot churros. More decadent than that you can't. This is the kind of treat you give yourself on a bad day or after dieting for 3 months. Anyhow, the churros are freshly made while waiting (not the waffles) and you have the choice of soft serve flavour and the chocolate sauce. Price is 45DKK for the generous portion. I don't believe the oil is so fresh as the churros felt too greasy rather than crispy. read more

If the answer to all 3 is yes, there is no excuse NOT to visit Rajissimo and go for churros smothered in chocolate and topped with vanilla ice cream. What are churros you say? Churros are elongated tuluba-like waffle-y constructs (google to see what I mean) that are crunchy on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. Combined with the ingredients above, they are beyond sublime for people with a sweet-tooth. Only downside to the way they are served? The cone. So much of that chocolate gets stuck at the bottom and getting it out is one messy, yet rewarding, chore. I see there are a number of Rajissimo's around town, so yeah, no excuse. There are so many churro stands in NYC, and I never bothered to buy any. Yet when I come to Copenhagen, I just can't resist it. All the dark chocolate drizzled over the hot and fresh churros warms my heart. It's too good. The waffle on stick was not appealing to me because I prefer Belgian waffles. These didn't look fluffy at all. But the churros are winning! Yay! read more

Stopped by for a sugar pick me up. I split the chocolate glazed hazelnut churros with my friend to cut the cost and plus I couldn't really finish all the churros by myself! The churros are made hot and fresh on the spot, it's about a 3 minute wait. You can also sample their waffle sticks, they have regular and light chocolate for your liking. It's 40DKK for the churros, which isn't too bad I guess. The churros were crunchy, sweet and soft all at the same time. The chocolate addition was perfect. I wish it wasn't so cold in Copenhagen cause about 5 mins of eating, the chocolate froze!! read more

This place is the best place to go if you are in for a tasty hot waffle. League of sample so you know what it taste like, they are really friendly, and the waffles come in different dippings. I would definitely recommend this place. read more
