If you like Asian taste in your ice cream, you cannot go wrong with sesame. Lychee is refreshing, and caramel fig and rum raisin are also my favorite as I can taste a little of pick me up (wink wink). My sister's favorite is gorgonzola pear and fig but we were told it is only seasonal as they want to keep their ingredients authentic as possible. The Asian male staff was very helpful and he even mixed flavors for us to try something new and creative! Highly recommended.

Not that anything is wrong with Gelatissimo but damn 48 Flavors had me really impressed. Because they have flavours that other icecream places do not have. Actually, for me it's just 3 flavours in particular. Durian, Taro and Black Sesame. With durian, it's probably one of the most divisive foods I can think of. People either absolutely love it or hate it. It has a custard-like texture with a rich creamy quality. However the people who absolutely despise it will point out it's pungent aroma, and pungent it putting it very politely. Basically it smells like rotting fruit mixed with other things. It's considered the Kind of Fruits in SE Asia and it's definitely one of my favourites. I wasn't going to get anything...until I saw the sign saying 'Durian Icecream- Tasting Available.' I think my eyes widened a bit and I immediately went to buy a scoop. I tasted before buying and then changed my mind to 2 scoops!! It's that good. The icecream's flavour 100% matches that of ripe durian, and I was kicking myself that it took me so long to discover it. I'm definitely coming back to try a few more flavours, and to get the durian a few more times. However I may need to sit a bit further away from my friends, because they kept pointing out the smell!

I believe it is also "sweetened" with artificial sweetener, as I could taste the unmistakable aftertaste hanging around in my mouth like, the smell of kerosine. All the hype is bs. I've tasted so much better elsewhere by manufacturers who are not afraid to add plenty of flavour and add the required amount of real sugar so it's nice and sweet. When I'm home, I'll do my own dieting, you don't have to do it for me, but when I'm out and about, I want a little treat.

Now, I'm no spring chicken and throughout my time on this planet I've had many,many steak sandwiches. You know, the usual stringy, cardboardy, uneatable, thin tiny piece of meat. But because I needed an iron hit that's what I opted for. The steak sandwich arrived on my table, it looked pretty much like any other I'd had before but then I took a bite. ..... PERFECTION! Surprise? The steak was fillet, plenty of it (drool) and cooked b-eeeeautifully :) Whenever I'm in that area again I'm going in for another treat.

It wasn't until a friend drove me to his favourite shop that I got to try the great selection. The guys Adam and Joe took over from the original owners and cakes are made specially by Marissa. On this visit I tried only the ice cream and gelato. It was very tasty and will have to work through all of them to find my favourite. There are not many tables inside and it is a very casual setting. What I did notice was the large number of people coming through the door for a takeaway ice cream. I'll be back.

Where I come from, this means they scoop the ice cream into a cone, then they turn the cone upside-down into warm chocolate which then hardens around your ice cream into a chocolate shell. Sweeet. Here, it apparently means they dip the cone in chocolate and then scoop the ice cream into it, which is not nearly as exciting, and also they charge an extra 50 cents for it. I am a bad. bad person…read more As a child I recall Royal Copenhagen as being the ultimate treat - delicious ice cream in a wide array of flavours, topped with cream and your choice of caramel or chocolate fudge. Not much has changed, except the cream is no longer complimentary - but I think I'm okay with that. My boyfriend is a huge fan as he loves the caramel fudge - often we'll stand there and add more and more to our ice creams as we eat it, without any judgement from the staff. There are some delicious flavours, today I had the white choc and caramel and a nutella but in the past I've always loved the jaffa choc orange - they lose a star because last time when I had this choice, I only got one Jaffa in the whole scoop *sad face*. Jaffa's aside, the waffle cones are great - and they offer to dip the top in chocolate for free if you' like! Open til late, if you drop by later in the day, the fudge station tends to be a bit messy but apart from this, the ice cream is great!

I think George, (the owner) must pick the staff to entice the males of the community to come and buy ice cream. For the children and young at heart, there is a self serve topping bar which is very popular, personally, I like my ice cream unadulterated. My favourite flavour here would have to be the name sake: Royal Copenhagen, it is a sheer delight for the taste buds; honeycomb and butterscotch - yum! They also do really good shakes, one of my favourites being Old English Toffee flavour. For entertainment while waiting for your ice cream you can often watch one of the staff sitting at the large waffle making machine preparing your fresh cones.

Proudly formulated in-house with only the highest quality ingredients such as the best Belgian chocolate, we Adelaidians can now add another home town delight to our list of summer coolers. With flavours like Kahlua, Hazelnut, Fig, Belgian chocolate and my favourite Turkish Delight they can be enjoyed in a cup or cone. They are happy to provide sample tastings at their Adelaide Central Market store. Enzo's at home is the perfectly placed store for a very creamy and rich treat to take home for a cheat's easy dessert - buy some fresh stone fruit, grill and top with whatever liqueur you have to caramelise (marsala would be perfect), top with gelato of choice and crumble over amaretto biscuits. Voila - la dolce vita Adelaide style!!!

I love my gluten so this is actually a taste preference as opposed to a dietary need, but it's also super handy for when I have to cater to those gastrically impaired friends of mine. My faves are the mini lemon cheese cakes and the olive bread. Delish! The staff are always helpful and eager to assist. The boy eats the turkish delight gelati (urk!) like it's going out of fashion. So if you're like me and think that there is no way gluten free anything could ever be tasty, check out Enzo's at Home for a pleasant surprise.

Think the absolute perfect ratio of peanut, caramel and chocolate in an ice cream. A hint for boys- this is the best way to any girl's heart. Apart from ice cream the shop also sells a modest selection of lollies and chocolates. I wouldn't recommend purchasing these from here though as there are many brilliant lolly shops in Hahndorf.

Treats of Hahndorf focuses on the latter (you can get a kransky elsewhere) and like most ice cream shops offers their own special flavours you're unlikely to see in other ice cream shops. The quality of bubble gum ice cream (or whether or not they actually stock it at all) is her way of telling a good ice cream store from a bad one. The fact that she tried one of the free samples outside the store, then wandered in for a cup of it should say something. I'm not sure if they offer the free samples every day, but if you try one be prepared for a wander into the shop. As well as ice cream they also various sweets and soft drinks that can be found just as easily down the road at the Hahndorf sweet shop. Still, it's nice to have them here too for convenience.
