I've taken my dogs Philippe and Brooklyn here since 2015 and do not regret it for a moment. After taking my dog to Petco or Petsmart and having terrible experiences: my dog would fear going in to any of those groomers, he would pee on himself, and would come back scared and just not himself. The day I took my dog into Genesis dog grooming and picked him up it was such a different experience, in a good and positive way- to my surprise my dog was happy and wagging his tail upon picking him up. Since then every single time I take both of my dogs they are received with a smile and just the way the owner refers to and handles each one of my dogs that alone is a winner in my book. The prices are reasonable and the time they take to groom them is also reasonable as the other places I mentioned they will keep my dog up to eight hours. Every single time they get groomed they come back with a cute bandanna and every time they smell so good. I would highly recommend this Groomer. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this grooming service!! My puppy was shaved far too short, completely ruining his beautiful coat and breed appearance. The haircut is uneven, and the hair that should have been left to create a proper Cocker Spaniel silhouette was cut off instead. THE WORST part is that they even cut off my puppy's eyelashes, which should never happen!! Instead of enhancing his natural beauty, they ruined it. The groomer SERIOUSLY NEEDS to take classes in grooming proportions and geometry, because the overall shape is completely unbalanced and lacks any understanding of the breed's correct outline. Now it will take months for his coat to grow back, I'm SO UPSET!! I was charged $85, and neither my puppy's ears nor his nails were done! Do not take your dog here! I took my dog for the first time.. dropped him off at 11-11:30 and was told to come back at 4 to pick up.. went at 4 he told me my dog is not ready but I felt something was off went back an hour later only for him to tell me they cut my dogs paw.. and was bleeding. clearly he lied when he said he wasn't ready. It was a cover up to keep my dog longer so they can stop the bleeding.. if they hurt him the first thing he should have done was called me and told me. Instead he kept him there.. He gave me a powder and said just put this on him it's not a BIG DEAL! To him it was nothing.. I took my dog home and he was getting worst so I took him to the vet.. clearly he has an infection, he limping.. and was not eating or drinking. Yes he did offer to pay the vet bill as he should and did.. but when asked who the owner is he lies and says it's not him.. when I pressured him he admitted he was the owner.. also I've been asking him for his insurance info and has been refusing to give me the info. He's a lier! They do not take care of your pet and do a horrible job anyways.. my dog didn't even smell clean when I picked him up! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE AT ALL! I have never in my life been charged this much for a a grooming experience of a dog as small as mine is. She was matted and I spent a good hour on her taking off most of the top of her hair. I was charged $85 when I've literally gone to Burbank and spent $50 to get my dog groomed for 7 years! If they do charge me an extra fee because of the matting it's like $10 I cannot believe, how ridiculous this situation was. Love these guys. Very sweet and kind. They are gentle and very loving toward the dogs. We used to bring our first fur baby here for about 6 years until old age finally caught up to him. Our new fur baby is a much larger breed, so I was concerned about the size and if they could handle a big ole puppy. In what seem kinda tight working quarters. But, sure enough, our boy went willingly and happily trotted off with one the workers. About two hours later, when I came back, there he was, fluffy, tongue out, wagging' his tail, smelling clean and bangin' a bandana. It's been nice to see the business grow. UPDATE June 2020: Mixed feelings, but satisfied with the service today. Seems though there was amisunderstanding of cost and I paid more than quoted. Due to Covid closures, we haven't been able to take our dog for her groom and shave like we normally do around this time of year and every place is busy right now. I remember taking my dog here previously and being less than satisfied. Last time, her cut was a little sloppy and one of her claws was cut too short, which caused her to bleed. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt after the owner responded to my original review and asked for another chance. I thought I would this time to give them another opportunity to make it right. I was quoted $45-50 on the phone when I made my appointment yesterday for wash and cut. I requested a cut for her whole body with exception of her face and tail. I also stated that they could leave her nails uncut and I would do it at home if they wanted to since they went too short on one last time because maybe she was too squirmy or something. After 4 hours I got the call she was ready to be picked up. He asked me to inspect her closely because of my previous review. She looked great and they clearly did a much more detailed and clean cut than I expected. They did trim her nails and they look ok. My only complaint is that the cost was $95 rather than the $50 I was quoted. That's almost double than I was quoted and think they should've called to mention it would be this much more, but I the service was complete and I didn't want to argue. Maybe 45-50 is just a wash? I will consider coming back, but will speak up on the price difference next time if there is one. ____ Moved to this side of the valley and was hoping to find someone close that could wash and give a haircut to my dog. I called and made a same day appointment. when I came in the man said I wasn't on the books. He clearly wasn't the person who spoke to on the phone and told me I couldn't be seen because I need my dog's records and need to be specific on what I wanted done. I told him that I brought a print out like I was told to bring, that I wanted a #4 cut and was quoted XX amount of dollars. He obviously knew I was telling the truth and said it would be 1.5 hours. I called 1.5 later and was told he was as running behind by 30. Fine. I get there 30 minutes later and bring my dog home. She kept licking her paws and I come to notice he cut too deep on her dewclaw. I understand mistakes happen, but he also wasn't honest to let me know she may have moved or something. just tried to hide it. Her haircut was just OK. A little choppy and clearly design isn't their strong point. This place is a little cheaper than other spots, but you get what you pay for. read more

This place is awesome! I can't speak on their general grooming as I only come to get my dogs nails clipped but that service is amazing. I have dogs that absolutely hate getting their nails cut. They shriek, bite, growl... sad to admit but one time one of my dogs pooped in someone's eye to avoid getting his nails done. Yes, you read that right. He ejected anal gland secretion into a man's eyeball to avoid getting his nails done. We don't go there anymore... I'm sure there's a "shit list" in that store's back room of my dog's face taken from a security camera. Anyway, the Genesis staff is wonderful. They let us hold our dogs so they don't freak out and they cut nails VERY QUICKLY. I mean the guys here cut my dogs nails faster than I cut my own nails. 10/10 would recommend. My dog has not tried to poop in their eyes here so I'd say he'd rate it well too. read more

If they tell you it'll be ready in 2 hours, that's what they expect. Sometimes your dog is being difficult, sometimes your dog is having a bad day, sometimes YOUR DOG is not comfortable, they have to take their time. I've study grooming and even my chihuahua takes longer then usual when I groom her myself. Before putting less stars you should try it yourself. Bathing, anal glands, nail clip, ear clean, hand drying it takes time!!! . I've also clipped a little too much off my dogs nails I didn't realize until later. The point is these guys have always done an awesome job with my dogs and all the dogs I've brought in. Price changes all the time, and I'm not surprised if from one day to another is $10-20 more for a cut. It's 2020!!! I payed $20 for my sons haircut to $35 Because of covid lockdowns.
