Roma worked on my hair today - and after 3 months of COVID-no-hairstyling, boy! Did I need it! I showed her what I had done in the past (in another state) and told her to "have at it!" I walked in and said, "I have an appointment, is this Address XXXXXX" and they said it was. Ok, whatever. Lady named Marna did eyebrow dyeing for me. Took three applications, with the last two applications only on the outside half of each brow, as that is the part that had "bleached." (I'm naturally dark haired, why did my eyebrows bleach out?) She did a good job for what she had to work with on me. Cost me $15. However, she highly recommended that I go to a place in Coos Bay where I could get my eyebrows "tatoo'd." I may consider that! Update: In January, Marna cut my hair. I had worn the same hairstyle for years, and I let Marna pick out a style for me and she did a good job. Hairstyle is maintenance free and looks good on me. Not to mention, she was fast! I'm used to haircuts taking about an hour (why? I have short hair!) and she got me shampoo'd and cut and dried and "outa there" in 30 minutes! Cash or checks only.

So, I've been going to Tatianna for a few months now, and I have to say, I'm almost afraid to…read moreupdate my review, she's that good (I'd hate to not be able to book an appointment because she got too much business from great reviews!), but I had to come back and let you all know how things worked out. I have always had to wear fake nails, firstly because my own nails split and peel if you just look at them, and second, I chose to become a nurse, a field where you wash your hands 20-30 times per shift. I would have been the only one out there with no nails, and patients would run in fear of the unknown! So I've tried to keep them looking natural, at least, since clear powder was invented. Imagine my joy when I left today, with just. my. own. nails. Nah, just kidding, but you wouldn't know that by looking at them - she uses a product that doesn't damage your natural nails, doesn't leave fill lines, and doesn't even require a clear overcoat! My nails actually do look 100% natural, but they're so strong, I've yet to break one in three months! Or have one lift (don't you hate that?) I could not be happier! Oh, and I only go every three weeks, instead of every two, on top of that! First set was a lot of work, taking off the acrylic and gel, but my fill appointments are only about a half hour, no longer than a regular gel fill. And while they run $40, again, it's only every three weeks, so it averages out to about $13/week, same as most gel fills, plus tip. And I've learned that Brookings isn't that far from Crescent City, gas is way cheaper, in Oregon, and I get to meet my hubby for lunch on the way! Win-Win! Sorry this is such a long post, but there really isn't enough room to praise Tatianna enough! Check her out, you won't be sorry!!! :)

Just moved to Gold Beach & found this wonderful stylist, colorist, and overall great person Laura…read more She worked with me to find the right color for my hair, asked what I wanted for a cut & gave me exactly what I asked for, and made the time I spent there go by so fast with her friendly demeanor and kind welcome. A few people stopped by to ask for appointments while I was there. She is open limited hours but she does get people in. I highly recommend this Stylist/Colorist/Owner if you live in town and can book an appointment!

Laura is a player. She plays a customer to get them to spend more money on other services. She claimed my cowlick was no problem and went to brag about her precision, being a perfectionist. However she failed badly. She relies heavily on a large comb and electric sheer, with a large comb attached, to do the cut. End result is a cut that does not blend, it is lumpy, not smooth, and in fact is ragged. Go and try for yourself, and when she pulls out the electric sheer and big comb to estimate hair length to cut, RUN.

It was a long drive and the provider seemed to have lost my appointment and double booked and couldn't squeeze me in. And she admitted she messed up and did find the appointment while I was there. But I had to wait a week to rebook and it's not like I live in Brookings. I drive down from Gold Beach. The ambiance is horrible because somebody crashed into the front months earlier and it hasn't been repaired yet. Just hazard tape around the bashed-in front wall. The provider didn't have a lot of experience and 50$ was too much for the level (and lack) of service. I'll never go back. But hey, there aren't a whole lot of providers for pedicures in Brookings OR Gold Beach. It's a shame. I'll keep looking, but I think I'll have to drive to Crescent City or Grants pass for better service. Either that or just go back to doing my own pedicures. Can't complain too much. We live in paradise here. So there's good with the bad. It's just too small of a town to have more options available. And I dont think I wish the town would get any bigger. #SmallTownProblems
