QR sign in for the waitlist is on the door. Our wait was about 10-15 minutes. I only tried one new thing this time- The tempura shrimp udon is a great deal and it's delicious! The staff was kind, as always.

Always a treat when I'm pot shopping. Service is great, staff is friendly. You order from your phone from a QR code, and the food comes out fairly quickly on a conveyor belt. Local music playing and good vibes in the restaurant. We were seated quickly and enjoyed our meal together. Parking available in lot.

The prices have gone up but it's still reasonable. I love having fried food and not having to fry it or clean up. No scallops today but that's fine we still had a lot to eat.

Genki Sushi is very much not worth it. The fish isn't very fresh and the price is not worth it at all. It's a conveyer belt sushi place where you order using a QR code. We ordered a little bit of everything to try it out. The waitress was nice, hence the reason this place wasn't a 1 star. 6.50 for 2 pieces of ahi tuna sushi that wasn't fresh with a mediocre amount of fish was pretty frustrating. There are so many better places to get sushi around Hawaii for cheaper and better quality. The space is small and with even a small amount of people gets very loud. Everything looks outdated... Will not be returning, not good at all....

In Ala Moana, Genki has one of a few locations around the island. This location is by Tanaka Ramen with parking adjacent to the restaurant. We have been a few times over the last few years and it has been pretty consistent. The interior feels the same as it did many years ago at Genki too. It is brightly lit and simple inside. The service is quick and friendly, which is nice because there is sometimes a wait. We got the ebi fry roll, spicy tuna bowl, ikura, and keiki set. All were good and flavorful! Especially the bowl. The prices are not bad either. Definitely worth a try, if you have never been before.

Whenever we are home in Hawaii my daughter loves coming here. We love all types of sushi, especially the spicy ahi but it's way too expensive now. My total for 2 people came out to $75.xx.

If I could give them a zero, I would tonight....actually negative. We came in ordered a oshinko maki, poke bomb, and a salmon karaage. The first two came out ok. The last we been waiting over 20 minutes for. I was told sorry we are busy. There was like 2-3 other small groups in here that didn't seem lien they were waiting for food. Then waiter tells me they are short staffed. I go to look in the back and there are 4+ workers joining around not doing anything but f'g around. Terrible!!!!! This was a 1 but the manager accepted the short comings and comped our meal. Thank you for doing that.

The food was really good and the service was nice. Although my mom got old brown lettuce from her salad as you can see in the picture. And we rang the call bell two times and the waiters/waitresses didn't come when we rang it we had to wait for our udon to be delivered just to get chopsticks and straws, compared to the one we usually go to the unagi is pretty smaller than the pearl ridge one. The atmosphere was pretty nice too it's just a bit too cold for me and my mom but it is not as crowded as the one we usually go to. The view is nice but I wish there were windows so us people in the back could see a view too. I would say only go here sometimes but not all the time only if you are really dying for sushi at Ala Moana. Enjoy Genki Sushi!!!

Need to be cleaner. There's gnats everywhere. Couldn't enjoy the food at all. Also, no one was answering our calls.

Is the food delivered by conveyor belt? Is there a train that delivers orders too?

Yes the trains deliver the orders.

Where in Ala Moana is this located?

At the entrance on Kapiolani, drive up the ramp to the 2nd floor. It is located a little to the right of the ramp.

Parking was surprisingly accessible and my husband who just got back from 2 years in Japan said it felt like he was back there! That was my first time ordering from an iPad and it coming on the belt, I loved it because you see what you're about to order! It is a little sad when the same thing you ordered passes you The food... the bluefin was incredible but the 3 piece salmon! Oh my goodness it was divine! The Philly rolls were amazing, the cream cheese tasted soo good! We definitely plan on coming back! I was not a big fan of the desert but I know it's just not my style, not that it's bad just culturally different. It is still a little pricey here but it is reasonable enough I would say we will probably use it as one of our somewhere nicer places but doesn't need to be a special occasion if that makes sense! The setup is very enjoyable as well being able to see them preparing everything before it comes on the belt!

We impressed by the amazing service and beautiful dinning area... even when you sitting at the counter it feel like a high end sushi place in Japan. The Garlic Ponzu Fatty Tuna was rich, buttery, and balanced perfectly by the ponzu. The Seared Yuzu Jalapeño Tai Snapper added just enough citrus and heat without overpowering the fish. My favorite of the night was probably the Aburi Kinmedai with Umami Oil & Lemon--the light sear brought out the natural sweetness of the fish while the lemon kept everything bright and refreshing. I also really enjoyed the Oil-Soy Tai Snapper with Fresh Salsa, which felt perfect for summer, and the Crispy Spicy Tuna Bites added a nice crunchy contrast to all the nigiri. What I appreciate most about Onodera is that even though it's conveyor-belt sushi, the quality consistently feels elevated. The fish is fresh, the flavors are thoughtfully balanced, and every plate looks as good as it tastes. The Summer Menu is available for a limited time through August 31, so if you're a sushi lover, it's worth making a visit before these seasonal specials disappear.

Not only that, but I have to bring my significant other along to share in the deliciousness! I don't know how I'm just now talking about Marugame Udon. When I first came here, my friend and I decided to give it a try because we saw the longest line and wanted to see what all the hype was about. There was a couple in front of us who said they come here every time they visit Hawaiʻi and that it's a must-do stop on every trip. When you walk in, it's a small place. You can watch a team member washing the noodles and portioning them into bowls right in front of you. Then you choose your bowl size, small or large, and select your broth. After that, you get to choose from a variety of fried items and other à la carte options displayed on a warmer. Seating can be limited because of how busy this place gets. You line up to get your food, pay for it, grab your condiments, utensils, and a cup of water, then find a seat and enjoy. I've already been here twice, and after writing about my experience, I need to make a third visit happen very soon! There are not enough days off in a week to enjoy all of the amazing food on this island, but I'm going to do my best to experience as many places as I can. This place is totally worth the 45-minute commute from Wahiawa.

I did ask while there if I could just make a reservation with them, but they told me call instead. At some point I questioned if this place was really a restaurant or a front for something else. Then, one Friday evening, we were talking about our "theories" of what it was a front for ... then a person in our group said, let's check it out. Opened the door and was greeted warmly and they asked how many! *gasp* what?! Really?! After 5.5 years, we couldn't pass it up! They offered 3 different styles of Omakase. I hardly listened from my excitement of just finally having an opportunity to dine there. I've never eaten Omakase style, anything, so I didn't understand that you tell them when you're done. The Sushi just kept coming. Thankfully, they noticed that I was passing my food to the other people of our party and asked me if I was done. While the others continued eating, I drank my Sake and looked around at the cozy ambiance of the small yet functional space. The gentlemen making the sushi was very quiet and I admired his care into making each individual sushi. The ladies helping us said that he's been working there for 35 years!! Okay, so finally everyone in our group was done eating. Now the bill. Then it finally dawned on me that we didn't ask how much it would be to dine there or even the cost of the Sake. As if I was rich, I took my card out to pay, but my other half ended up covering the bill. $530 for the 3 of us *choke* whaaa? ... okay, really, that's $180 per person. But still. We should have asked. Would I go back? Eventually. Honestly, the sushi was probably the best I've had.
