Everything was very yummy! Nice cozy place to grab delicious food with friends and family. Service was great. Prices are also very reasonable.

I don't know why I slept on this place and I Iive hella close to it! My friend ordered rolls from here and we shared it so I wanted to take my son here for dinner on a Friday, so we did. I ordered the Dragon roll and he a Rock and Roll. Both rolls were delicious and the service was very good! When I wanted to order a chicken karage bowl to go, the server suggested that I order the katsu as appetizer and a single serving of rice as it was less expensive that way. I appreciated that so much as she didn't need to do that. This is a very casual place so you can come in pajamas if you wanted to but for sure it's a local spot. Definitely returning!

Genki Sushi House in Restaurant in Hercules is the place to be at when you crave sushi and bento box. A nice small restaurant in Creekside Plaza. What do I like to get at Genki...Chicken and Teriyaki Bento Box. The Bento Box is amazing. I love the taste of my food. The service at Genki is amazing. During the pademic they still did business with take out only. It was just recently I notice that dine in is allowed. The inside of the restaurant is nice. Quite a few tables that are close to others but I don't mind dinning next to someone. I have see servers swiveling around to get your food to you. Definitely will be back to Genki Sushi House Restaurant

Hole in the wall spot that has pretty good quality sushi! Haven't had it since I was a kid in Hercules but recently went and tried it again and to my surprise, the sushi tasted really good! I didn't even get a chance to take a photo of the other roll I got (which was the Kamikaze roll)

My friend and I were meeting together for lunch and he told me he wanted to try a Japanese restaurant by his place. We found this located next to a shop that sells boba and donuts and in the same area as the Home Depot. We each had our own bento box, but shared the roll, inari, and tempura. Miso Soup: Classic miso soup and it was warm and delicious. Nothing else to say. Mix Tempura: They give you a good amount of items. You get 2 shrimp and 4 veggie items. The sauce was a clear dipping sauce, so it felt light. The tempura was crispy and flaky, which I liked a lot. Evil Roll: This was very spicy. Just one bite of a roll and my mouth was on fire. The spicy tuna was good and tasted fresh to me. Bento Box: Mine was with the gyoza. For the price, I find it quite a steam for what you got. The katsu was crispy and juicy and the gyoza was delicious. I love the salad and everything felt perfect to me. I can see myself coming back here again.

I would do anything to keep this business here. Best prices, great service, and humble. Small business worth going out of the way to support. Most of the menu Pricing from $2-$19. I LOVE GENKI I LOVE GENKI I LOVE GENKI Hercules local

As a new Hercules resident, I'm making it a point to explore the neighborhood restaurants. As sushi is my favorite food, I had to try a local spot situated in a nearby plaza. Ordered via phone and picked it up before they closed. They haven't opened for indoor dining yet. I ordered 2 rolls- the 49er (Cali roll topped with salmon and lemon slices) and dragon (shrimp tempura, cucumber topped with unagi and tempura flakes.) The rolls were small and kinda $$, but they were tasty enough, especially the unagi. It was what I expected, however. I was spoiled with the yummy sushi spots in my previous hometown in Oakland, Berkeley, etc so I've had better sushi. However, I would probably give it another shot to try the other items., especially if I don't want to travel too far for a sushi fix.

So, you can imagine we were pretty famished. This is what we got: * Curry Udon $15.99 - This smelled amazing. It was a pretty good size order and we had to take most of it to go. It heated up well a couple of days later. * Chicken Karage $10.99 - This is a pretty generous portion for it being an appetizer. The happy hour menu is limited, but it features a fair selection of rolls. I personally only had the Crunch Roll, which was about $3 off on happy hour Miso Soup: The soup was nothing special. The rolls itself were delicious and plentiful and the happy hour pricing was a plus for me. Dinner Bento: The salad was good, and I really liked the dressing. The veggie tempura were fried correctly and the tempura sauce was alright. The rice was pretty sticky for my taste. My disappointment was in the teriyaki chicken. The pieces themselves were fine, but it was the sauce that was getting to me. It just felt off and didnt really taste like teriyaki sauce to me. Overall, not a bad experience. After researching them online I found the food "looks" great but seemed a bit pricey for what you get. I feel like their prices are similar to other hibachi places only you don't get the full experience of watching them cook it at your table here. Ok. That's fine, maybe the taste makes up for that, I thought. It doesn't. We decided to try them out on a day we had company in town, the restaurant was nearly empty so I was surprised it took so long to get our food. After a long wait my mother and brother in law received their wraps, I didn't taste them, they said they were good but I think they were just starving and being polite because they appeared to be mostly rice and did not look good at all to me. Next came my order of soup (the daily special) and my husband's fish tacos, which looked amazing! The soup was good, lots of fresh veggies and fish but the broth was lacking in flavor. I took a bite of the fish tacos and immediately regretted it. That sauce they squirted all over them was disgusting, plus they were very hard to eat, everything was falling out and the shell just fell apart. Finally our appetizer of pot stickers came out, after our family was nearly finished with their wraps. The potstickers were actually the best things we ordered, although I didn't get a picture because they took so long to get to the table. We ended up taking the other two fish tacos and soup home with us. The tacos did not hold up and ended up getting tossed out but I was able to add a bunch of my own sauces, some sesame oil and chili crisp to the soup to make it taste better at home. I had it for lunch the next day and really enjoyed it with the added flavor. Unfortunately we will not be going back again. Nothing terrible happened, our waitress was very friendly, the restaurant was clean, there was a bit of a wait and I'm not sure why the potstickers took so long, I actually had to ask about them so maybe they just forgot them? it's just with so many amazing local options I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

Would never have guessed it was a Korean restaurant. We were seated right away and our server was pretty attentive. We got the usual bon chon of appetizers and were able to place our orders quickly. Kimchi Jeon: I always love the Korean pan cake. My choices are usually the Green Onion or the Kimchi variant. Here, they had the Kim chi version. It was crispy and fried to perfection and was not salty. The dipping sauce helped complement the pancake and there was plenty enough to go for a second round. Soy garlic and spicy fried chicken: This was absolutely delicious. The spicy was not too spicy, with just the right amount for the kick and not making me want to drink milk. It was also crispy and crunchy, which is what I expect from Korean fried chicken. The soy garlic was phenomenal. The sauce was not overtly sweet and it tasted what I expect from the flavor profile. These pieces were also fried to perfection as well. Kimchi Soondooboo: I always love the soft tofu soup and I am glad they had this here as well. The version here is vegetarian (though you do get an egg). The tofu was soft and there was plenty of it in the soup. My only complaint personally was that the broth was a bit bland for me. Could be that I am used to have a meat version of kimchi Soondooboo. It still tasted delicious on a cold night, but I felt it was still missing some seasoning or flavoring.
