Amazing people and service. I haven't been to the dentist in 15 years and I was afraid. The dentist, hygienist and entire staff were very friendly and made me feel extremely comfortable. My cleaning was painless and I had 3 cavities (my first) and the shot and procedure was also painless. If I knew it was going to be so easy, I would have gone to the dentist many years ago. I want to start by saying the woman at the front desk was incredibly kind, welcoming, and sincere. My hygienist was also wonderful--very friendly, patient, and honestly more informative than the doctor. I do want to share something important about my experience. I have a brain lesion, which affects my processing speed and speech. Because of this, I sometimes need a little extra time to understand and respond. Unfortunately, the doctor I saw was extremely rude and dismissive. He spoke very quickly, and when I was trying to process what he said about flossing, I began to explain that I struggle with hand coordination and use floss picks. He interrupted me and said, "Do I need to repeat myself again? REGULAR floss, nothing else." That moment was incredibly upsetting. It was one of the first times I've truly felt limited or dismissed because of my disability. At that point, I was already uncomfortable and ready to leave. He then went on to tell me that the treatment option I was considering was not something he would "let his family do," which felt condescending and unprofessional. After he left the room, I broke down in tears. Thankfully, the hygienist was compassionate and supportive, and I truly appreciated her care in that moment. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this location. It's very unfortunate that such a caring support staff is overshadowed by a doctor who treats patients this way. read more

If I could leave a zero star, I would. Dr. Seiler is completely unprofessional and rude. He speaks to patients as if they was not worth his time. I have overheard a patient with questions for clarification and he responded with such an attitude. They do not work in the dental field, they are not aware of the terminology and the steps. He just assumed they did. It is their body so if they ask for clarification give it. I overheard Dr. Truman Seiler IV tell patients that he makes more money if their hygiene is poor, as well as tell patients that he is 'too lazy' to do the work they needed done and would refer out. He has NO bedside manner and by looking at other reviews on here, Dr. Truman Seiler IV needs to take a look in the mirror. For someone who has affiliations with the Christian Medical and Dental Association(per his bio on the Gentle Dental website), he does not follow any Christian core values. I have no idea how he still has affiliations with any organization, because all of these reviews are accurate. He does not show any empathy nor does he care for his patients. Someone needs to reevaluate his position or he needs to go to therapy and remember that all his problems need to be left at the door. To Dr. Truman Seiler IV, it does not cost anything to be kind. The bible will give you guidance, read it. I'll give you a head start; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. As a provider for a developmentally delayed client...Dr. Seiler should not be in the business of serving the public at all!!! He is rude and I believe he is prejudice against anyone that doesn't fit in his little bubble. He should not be allowed to be a provider for this population as it is hurtful the way he talks down to my client. My client does not have good dental hygiene and was seen at this office for cleaning and exams which the dentist only referred to other specialists and never even attempt to do anything. The dentist was extremely rude and demeaning! I literally looked away while he was speaking, so I didn't snap back, thinking maybe I could be feeling overly sensitive -I'm pregnant. When I spoke with the women in the front and let them know how rude he was and that I would not be wanting to schedule an exam once I got the okay with my OB/GYN they seemed shocked about my response. They were very kind but actually fed into me thinking I was being overly sensitive by validating his negative remarks with a positive reasoning of why he would have said one of the demeaning remarks. They should leave that office asap to save thier future jobs in that industry. It would be embarrassing to apply at a new job and see these reviews. I went to the Gentle Dental on W. Bell Road, thinking the company name says it all... Well, the Dentist at that W. Bell location is Dr. Truman Seiler. When I first got there he bitched at me for not getting my teeth cleaned more than once a year! I had no Dental insurance at the time, and money was tight. I had two crowns put in by Dr. Seller. And let me tell you...This Dr. Seiler should NOT be working in the Dental field let alone working for a business called Gentle Dental!!!! I have TMJ from having braces..Dr. Seiler is very rough!!! When he injected the novacane and didn't number me give me a swab of the numbing for the gumb prior to injecting the novacane! And that was on the side, then he crammed the needle to the roof of my mouth...and I literally nearly flew out of the chair it HURT SO BAD!!!! He did not show any empathy about the TMJ I suffer from as I informed him prior to him doing the proceedure ! I periodically have to take a break to adjust my jaw while having Dental work or my jaw locks!!! Dr. Seller got upset and crammed a rubber block to force my mouth open wider!! I felt like I was literally in a HORROR MOVIE!!! I kid you not, it was my WORST EVER Dental experience EVER in my 65 years of life!!! I was extremely disappointed with my care from Dr. Truman Seiler and recommended no one should see him. He was very rude and passive aggressive when trying to help me figure out the cause for my toothache and blamed it on not flossing enough, which he then went on to make me feel very uncomfortable and embarrassed about my teeth even though I do floss. I went to my original dentist who found the actual reason for my toothache which was not from "not flossing enough" which is what Truman told me. I would give this guy a 0-5 if I could, but the only good I have to say was the other staff and front desk people who were very nice and welcoming. Went there 3/24 was told that I had periodontal disease and to slow the process down you needed this antibiotic put into your gums for $1,000.00. I told them no, the hygienist stated that we can't clean your teeth until you go through with the plan by me. I gathered my Xrays and went to 2 different DDS. Gentle Dental's front reception was very rude to my mom I wish I could've recorded the phone conversation, but my mom had made an appointment for my little brother because his filling had fallen out. The front desk lady told my mom she had failed to bring my brother to his appointment previously but my mom did make it he had braces done at another office but kept the cleaning appointments there. The front desk lady continued to fight with my mom as my mom told her my brother couldn't make it to the appointment because he had tests for all his classes today the lady told my mom "Well if you can't make it let me know by 1pm or else I'm going to charge you $75 dollars." Now mind you My mom spoke to this lady yesterday for the appointment today she's letting them know more than 24 hours before the appointment time. My mom told her you know I don't like the way you're talking to me and I might as well go somewhere else and the lady tells my mom that's fine because if you leave we get 2 new patients so it's not a problem, you're more than welcome to leave. I was beyond upset my mother not knowing how to talk much because there is a language barrier and this lady talks to my mom this way. We tried talking to the manager but wouldn't transfer us over, we tried calling again today but we still haven't gotten a phone call. I work in the medical field and I would never in my life talk to a patient or client this way it's so rude that this front reception doesn't have the sympathy or care for patients or clients if she's talking to my mother that way, who knows she's probably talking to other patients that way. I've been having tooth problems and just needed to get x-rays done to see what's going on. Had suspected a couple infections. The doctor Truman Seiler and I were talking about if I needed to get anything pulled and I told him that I don't get numb with any kind of numbing shots or anything. His immediate response was "it's because you smoke weed" which I don't and said so then he responded with "so it's other stuff then." He just had openly assumed I am a drug user (I don't even smoke cigarettes or drink). Through out the appointment, more than half of the time was spent of him telling me that I shouldn't have lip or tongue piercings. I understand that they're not good for dental care it's my choice and I'll take the consequences. I had gone there to get treated for infections in my jaw which he had confirmed then told me I antibiotics wouldn't work for this and it needs to be surgically removed. I also didn't come to get lectured, biased, and dismissed. He just had handed me referrals for other places and said hopefully I could get in soon enough. I hope he's not like this with all his patients. Though, His assistant was very kind and respectful, I appreciated her input and kindness. Unfortunately, experiences like this is a big reason why I and I'm sure a lot of other people do not like going to the dentist or doctor. I really hope this was just a bad day for him and it's not normal behavior. With that being said the initial exam and x-ray cost was really cheap, which was a relieving turn to what had happened with the doctor. I hope this helps as a caution. read more

DO NOT BE SEEN BY Dr. Truman Seiler!!!! Be AWARE. Dr.Seiler bedside manners aren't great, horrible with his work. The man shouldn't be a dentist, clearly he doesn't care about hearing his patients or being a dentist he's only there to make MONEY. I went in for two crowns on two of my teeth. I also had a tooth that hurt and he wrote a referral to see a Endodontics. After seeing the endodontics he clearly said there were cracks on my tooth and how did that dentist not see it on your tooth? I was sent with a plan for a crown and prep which I presented to Dr.Seiler and front desk. When I went back they did impressions of my two teeth for the crowns. Weeks later I came in and he broke one of the porcelain crown on my tooth and the other didn't even cover the entire tooth! I was upset to top it off he damaged my good tooth and a piece of my heathy tooth was broken. I informed him he denied it I showed him he broke my healthy tooth next to my crown he put on. All he did was make excuses and wouldn't rectify the problems that he created. I was in so much pain. Also he didn't put any oral numbing cream before giving me a shot. He can't admit when he was wrong! I asked him was he going to prep the tooth that the Endodontics said to do and this doctor said he's just going to leave it as is and if it gets worse then come back. That it's just my tooth that's sensitive. I said to him you sent me to the specialist they wrote plan of action and now your saying your not going to fix it?! I'm in pain, I told him I want a second opinion. He talks down to you as if you're not educated to understand him, which I am. This man also cut up my check when putting the top crown in while using his tool to shape my tooth. Dr. Truman Seiler is the worst Dentist I have ever seen and would NEVER see him or recommend him to anyone. The staff was great and office manager was good and help the process of rectifying my teeth, she definitely was great! I was sent to Gentle Dental off of grand with Dr. Bingham who was GREAT!! Him and his assistant Ivan were amazing! They took excellent care of me and the doctor listened to what happened at the other office and took care of my two crowns and broken tooth that Dr. Seiler broke. Dr. Bingham did excellent work!! and would definitely recommend him. The staff at his office were great as well. read more

Have no patience and respect for the elderly. Told my grandmother not to come back again, just because they have difficulty taking X-ray of the only TWO teeth she has. We are from Hawaii and my grandma is raised to be a gentle woman who spreads the Aloha everywhere she goes, so Grandma was confused on what she did wrong to make them say something like that. I have receding gums with some bone loss. I went to this periodontist to seek out a remedy for my gum issue. Dr.Ashraf recommended graft surgery. I had this procedure done and I had very good results on my 2 lower teeth area on a Thursday thinking I could go to work next day. I took next day off along with the weekend to recovery. Dr. Ashraf was available for any questions which was very reassuring and comforting. His staff is very kind and compassionate. I am pleased with the outcome. I am a advocate for preventive care. I normally go to the Avondale location but had an emergency and decided to go here. Over the phone I scheduled to have a "procedure" done or so I thought... The front office and the Dentle assistant were very nice however Dr. Truman Seiler was NOT. He came in and talked to me for less than 5 minutes and stated I should just go back to the office where I normally go to... then he just left !!! When over the phone I scheduled for a procedure. I am such an understanding person but I don't like getting my time wasted and I don't like leaving bad reviews but I felt very talked down to about my issue. The way he acted was just so discourteous and arrogant. Definitely will not come here again because of HIM , a provider shouldn't make you feel that way. Went in for an X-ray and check up and it was a nightmare! He said I had 6000$ worth of work I needed done and after when I went to get a second opinion they said I actually only had ONE cavity!! Not good. I went in for my usual 6 month cleaning and a new hygienist (meaning one I had not used before) started taking measurements as they normally do, but this time coming up with numbers well outside my normal range, which would mean a far more invasive, far more frequent and far more expensive type of deep cleaning, which isn't without risk. The ordeal of just taking the measurements was far from gentle, far from considerate, and was very concerning, in my opinion. Guessing commissioned based. Anyway, the harsh measurement taking alone was enough to make me run far away to a different dentist. So, I went for a second opinion to a different place, and low and behold my numbers were back in the normal range, with no issues, just the usual 6 month regular cleaning. So, Even though I had gone here for cleaning in the past and had excellent cleanings, this time, ...the answer is no. read more

My Wife, My Father, my Brother and my self have been coming to this dental office for a year now. I normally don't write reviews but with the awful service I received I will now be "that guy" to write a pretty nasty review. I had scheduled my wisdom teeth extraction sept 11th when another Gentle Dental dentistry canceled on me the day prior to extraction. I called my normal Surprise location asked when they can get me in. They stated the same Doctor ( you know the one who cancelled on me) will be at this location on Sept. 25. I told them if thats the only date then I will take it. The lady proceeded to tell me that they will give me a call "a week" prior to let me know what insurance covers and the rest I have to pay out of pocket. Well They called my father's number left a message( who isn't the primary phone number on my account) if anything it's my Wife or Myself. So they left a message Monday sept 23rd which isn't "a week prior" but what ever no big deal. My dad relays the message to me says I have to call Gentle Dental Surprise back and confirm the appointment for Wednesday. I called and Janette Valencia answers the phone. She Proceeded to tell me that I am all set for the 25th and that I have to go to the grand and bell location to get an X-ray pano done prior to my extraction. She proceeded to tell me all about there machine issues at there facility ( which has nothing to do with me). After that she said okay we have you set up on the 25th see you then. Today is the 25th I don't have my teeth extracted. Why do you ask. Well.... Janette "forgot" to inform me that I couldn't eat or drink anything " not even water" 8 hours before my extraction. I have never been sedated so I wouldn't of known otherwise. So I show up to the office ready to get them out and I was told I couldn't. A little information goes along way especially important information like not eating because you might choke on vomit during the process ( was told by another very helpful receptionist who tried everything to get me in today). Only thing I didn't like that this helpful receptionist said is the office manger who apparently called my phone yesterday left a message on my personal phone stating all this info like no eating or drinks 8 hours prior; Which is a lie. I have my phone on me 16 hours a day for work I would of answered or saw my voice messages which I only have 3 on my phone not Gentle Dental. Through all of this I have yet to receive a phone call from Juli Buser ( Office Manager) trying to at the very least "Build relationships for life". Or so it says on the back of the business card. They Lost 4 "relationships" today and I'm sure many more to come. Thanks for nothing!!! read more

On a Wednesday only to let me get there fill out the paperwork, front desk girl asks what I'm having done today...."a cleaning" to which she replies "oh ok great have a seat we will call you back soon" I go in, get X-rays done, during exam when the dentist is telling me how much work I "need" And I ask about the cleaning.... that I'm there specifically for, he says "oh we don't have a hygienist in Wednesday's so we can't do your cleaning" Wtf... won't be going back here again. They schedule appointments and send you notices to confirm you can make it then the day before the appointment they say something either office is closed or you need to reschedule. Being new to Surprise, AZ, I needed to find a full service dentist who could take over my continuing dental needs. After my initial examination with Dr. Truman Seiler and after the hygienist completed my cleaning, it was determined that I needed to have periodontal work done as well. Dr. Harmon Ashraf was the best periodontal specialist that I've ever had the pleasure of having periodontal procedures done. Dr. Ashraf explained everything during my procedure which was very comforting. My entire experience with Drs. Seiler, Ashraf, the Hygienist and the entire "professional staff" at Gentle Dental was top notch and deserving of a 5+ rating. My experience was such a pleasure that I have no hesitation in referring potential patients to Gentle Dental for all their dental needs. Gentle Dental is definitely my new forever home for all my future dental needs. read more

I am old enough to know when I'm being scammed and this office scammed me into trying to tell me I needed a deep cleaning MONEY MONEY MONEY for the rest of my life once I have one it's funny how I went to another dentist and I did not need a deep cleaning I knew they were trying to scam me out of money because my gums are perfectly healthy I lost every night brush my teeth every night and morning and afternoon and my gums do not bleed. They couldn't get me an estimate when I requested. They kept saying it's not in the computer and they would get back to me. I had to call four times and there were no notes in the file. When I finally got an estimate I had to talk with the manager. My husband went in to ask why the only gave us half of the estimate. Ron was so rude that my husband walked out. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by customer service. I have been in customer service for over 25 years. If I did half of what this staff did, I would have been fired. I thought I lost my retainer with a false tooth (in the front) and Julie was giving me every option under the sun to get me a replacement as soon as possible. This office is a freaking joke! Three members of my family including myself were patients here. We stopped going because they continuously screwed up our billing by overcharging our insurance and we've been stuck with the bill. well we would have been had I not called and fussed the office out. So after a year of going elsewhere for dental care I sent my daughter back there to get a second opinion. My daughter repeatedly asked them to call her in reference to her appointments instead they would email text or call me instead of her. They screwed up her appointment scheduling twice within A seven day time frame, telling her the date of appointment they cannot do certain services after she was scheduled for it, what a waste of time! And then when you ask the staff about the errors they claim they have no information or they do not know how any of this could have happened! I truly wonder if the doctors know that all of this is going on with their office. I guess once I report them to my insurance they will know! Do not waste your time or money going here!
