We've been bringing Frankie here for a while. Most times she comes home with an excellent cut, sometimes the cut was a little crooked, however, she's very hyper and I'm sure wiggles. I had no problem with the price and work and always left a generous tip. Frankie started shaking when we showed up for recent grooming and seemed terrified to go in and especially to go behind the counter. I thought that kind of odd. The last time I picked her up the owner and groomer of Frankie began to whine and about to cry telling me what a tough time she had. She's done this before but this time it was very unprofessional. She complained that the cut we wanted was difficult and took her too much time. In the beginning if she found a problem she would call and I would tell her to go ahead and groom her anyway she needed to resolve an issue. I don't know why this was not the case. I don't know what happened to Frankie to make her dislike going to Gentle Touch and just fear it's because of the frustration the groomer projects when grooming her. Hopefully it was just that but still I fear it may have been more. Like I said the work is mostly exceptional but the way she whines about a job that frustrates her is very unprofessional. We are easy going people and it takes a lot to bother me but this certainly does. I've read other peoples reviews that stated they felt guilt after she tells them of a difficult groom. I'm paraphrasing of course. She would do well not to show her emotions to her customers. I've taken Frankie to a new salon and the two girls are so wonderful with them and show genuine love for clients pets. I won't say where I'm taking them now because that would not be appropriate in this review. I do wish Gentle Touch well and appreciated the majority of their service. Recently I used the yelp quote feature to comparison shop several local groomers for my furbaby and unfortunately it was a huge waste of time. Most places either gave me ridiculously high estimates or wouldn't quote me at all until I met them in person with my dog (even though I provided photos). So I reached out to Gentle Touch, which in all honesty I should have done from the very beginning. Several years ago they were amazing at grooming my English Mastiff who had been traumatized as a puppy by a groomer at Petsmart that didn't know how to clip black nails properly. Handling 200 lbs of dog that feared groomers is a commendable feat. I'm still baffled it's taken me this long to write a review to show my appreciation. Now I have a golden retriever with a coat that needs a lot more maintenance. Gentle Touch once again has come to my rescue with reasonable prices, professionalism, and the kind of care that only comes from a local business that treats your pet like they would their own. My dachshund terrier mix's face was getting a bit wiley and after a rough first experience at a different groomer I was hesitant to take her in (last place did a hack job and practically buzzed everything knowing her coat didn't call for that). However, Shannon and the rest of the team did a fantastic job! First off, you can tell these people love pets and that they treat them like they're their own. We made a couple of "less is more" requests- leave ears long but shaped, clean up her eyebrows and muzzle so she could see, and not use an electric razor on her backend (aka her mudflaps ). Shannon made sure to write down our requests and instead of an electric razor, used clippers to clean up her mudflaps. Shannon told me that our girl needed some baby talk to get through her face trim, so I'm glad she let us know but more importantly that she was so patient. Her trimmed up face and feet look so good and she smells great!!! We are sooo glad we found this place! read more

So sad to have to leave this business, but last time I was there, I was not impressed. Thye had left a message that their groomer had a family emergency and they needed to reschedule. I never got a message. When I arrived, I asked if there was any way they could groom my 2 dogs. It is extremely difficult getting them both there. I think ot was the owner said she could try to do it but wasn't sure she could do it because she knew " I was super picky." Excuse me... Those are my family members. Of course, I am picky...left that day and won't go back. It's a shame because Shannon ( who isn't there anymore ) was always AMAZING!! When she left last time, we had Michelle. She did a great job with my crazy 2 year old golden. The groomers are so good, but customer service could use some work. We had been bringing our dog and cats here for a considerable number of years. A few years ago I would have given this place an enthusiastic 5 stars; now they're no longer worth my business. Every time we brought our Yorkie here in the last few years her cuts were shoddy and lopsided. When I brought my cats here, I was charged full price for the services I requested but when I got my cats home and got them out of their carriers, the sanitary shaves I asked for hadn't happened at all. Their nails hadn't even been trimmed. I will never bring any of my pets back here. Their communication is terrible. They don't call back for ages, and if there are problems with the groom they don't tell you anything! If you're that busy,get online booking software and a front desk coordinator! I was watching my kids French a couple days ago and I noticed she was walking and trying to run funny. When I got her inside I noticed her paw was bleeding and saw that her toe nail was looking awjward. Called my daughter and she sent me over to gentle touch five minutes away. Gosh I hope I remember her name being Shannon? Hope so! Anyway walked in she came around the counter knelt down looked at Gigi and knew what to do! I thought it was just one toe long story short Shannon clipped all her nails on the spot and took great care of her! Anyway she charged me only $15 luckily because she only accepts cash out check and that's all the money I had on me. Apparently, they have issues with an employee that no longer works for the company whom was always AMAZING with my fur baby! They want to involve clients and customers in to what ever drama it is that's going on at the shop. I was accused of "being friends" with said "employee" which, YES, I am, she was phenomenal doing her job and treated my Gidget with excellence every time she saw her, so I must be slandering their business. When I kindly said "tell me what it is that was said that's not true and I will take it to the source" The whole room fell silent and I was told "Kaylee isn't comfortable grooming your dog" after being told "I'm surprised you even showed up today" I am one of those people that tells it like it is and tells the truth even if it makes you uncomfortable. So, don't drag me in to shop drama cuz I'll tell you EXACTLY what was said and I will defend you if you aren't there to defend yourself. I don't do talking behind backs. It's childish. -10 stars! Owner is a nightmare. I had been taking my doodle to Gentle Touch for several months. First groomer was very pregnant. She did a wonderful job. When she left, the other groomers stepped up and did a wonderful job. Today I went to pick my girl up from her appointment. I knew her original groomer had just returned so I asked for her next time. The owner was helping me and she was the one that just groomed her. She became visibly angry. She made a few passive-aggressive comments that confused me. She clearly wanted Maggie for herself. I was speechless and changed the subject. I brought up the original groomers new baby using a passive-aggressive approach myself. Like remember why she was gone... don't keep her clients. A little while ago, the owner called and after not agreeing with her to keep my dog with her, she said I can't bring my dog back. This was after a complete emotional tirade that was very uncomfortable to listen to. How everyone was talking about her behind her back. She needs some help. This pet salon is just wonderful. The groomers are flexible and very good at what they do. It was $45 for my 60lb golden retriever to get a full bath, flea treatment, nails trimmed, glands expressed and a great haircut. They took about 2 hours and when I got her back she was fresh and very happy. I would recommend this pet salon to anybody! I will be back on a regular basis for sure. read more

My pups nails were a bit scraggly and I was really fearing comment on it to be honest (they weren't terrible but a bit overgrown). But I called (and got an answer which is a miracle right now with Covid) and went for a walk in trim. They really were gentle and took their time with my girl. During the winter I can't bathe my chocolate Lab at home because his coat takes an eternity to dry and I don't like to have him laying around wet all over the carpet. I tried blow drying and that was a joke. Over the summer I bathe him and let him air dry outside. I've been using a groomer that I was not too thrilled with and in the meantime I've been looking for a small shop that feels a little more personal. This is it! I paid $40.00 for my dog to get a bath, nails, ears and something about anal glands that I was not too eager to learn about but told them whatever that is to check and if my dog needed it to go ahead and go gland crazy. The price of $40.00 for a bath is not cheap but I can justify it with many reasons... -I have a big dog. -I need him to get a bath and can't do it at home without him being wet for hours. -My dog smelled so good and his coat was super shiny. -I don't bathe him every day. -The groomers were all fantastic, friendly, and caring with the dogs they were working with. -Finally... I'm not going anywhere near any anal glands but if needed, they would. The first time I took my dog to Gentle Touch was right before the holidays and when I went to pick him up they had even put a very cute Christmas bandana that made my brown baby look extremely handsome! Yup! I think I found the place for my dog. I love that it's a small business and that the owner and family actually work at the Salon.
