On the fourth time they finally decided to change the hot water valve that was replaced in July 2023 and sent me an invoice for the service call for the replacement of the faulty valve which they replaced in the first place. I talked with the Sales manager Trent who said they could not do this replacement for free. I explained to him that it should not be at my cost because you used a faulty valve. Then spoke with the owner Cory, explaining the same thing and he also said what Trent said. They adjusted the invoice less $65.00, which in my opinion is ridiculous! At no fault of my own they installed the valve and I was more than happy to pay the initial cost but cannot understand why I would have to pay for the replacement cost of the faulty valve they installed.

They started forgetting to latch the gate, resulting in our dog escaping on three separate occasions. When I raised my concerns with the owner, I was met with an unapologetic attitude and lack of empathy every single time the gate wasn't latched. To make matters worse, the usual girl who serviced our yard was replaced by a new guy. From the moment he entered the yard, his demeanor was aggressive, and he showed no gentle handling towards our dog, unlike the previous employee. This caused our dog to feel threatened and bark in response. Rather than deescalate the situation, the guy yelled aggressively at our dog and charged at her with a shovel in his hand. Shockingly, when we reported this incident to the business owner (and provided video footage), his response was that their technicians can act however they need to when they feel threatened, completely disregarding the fact that their waste handler lacked proper training , and that we never had issues for many years (same dog). Every time we encountered an issue, the owner never took any accountability for their employees' behavior, only to deflect blame back on the customer. I was more than fair in giving these guys multiple chances to get their act together but the recent incident involving the new employee was the last straw. I hope this helps someone. Our basement bathroom floor had rotted out, and we discovered it was because our drains weren't draining. We explained the problem to Frank and he came over with a pipe camera, he was quick too! After all we'd been through trying to do it on our own, it was such a relief that Frank was able to come up with a solution. He gave us precise instructions to solve the problem. (Which was tree roots, by the way.) Having never been in this situation before, we didn't know what to do, or who to call. Frank made it easy. I'd like to mention he is just a really nice guy. I have been dealing with construction companies for over 17 years…read more I have never seen a job so poorly done with total disregard for the overall project. It was a simple garage pad and sidewalk however Derek concrete was absolutely the worst choice. The garage pad is noncompliant with the city of Edmonton even though they were given proper permit locations. The sidewalks are crooked and uneven with improper expansion joints. The driveway is too steep causing my car to bottom out each time I drive in and out of my garage. water is pooling in the garage pad. The water is coming in from the man door right underneath the frame into the garage obviously they've sloped the concrete into the garage not away from it . The crew also left my outside tap running causing a small flood in my basement .I have contacted Derrick concrete general manager and they are unwilling to fix any of their problems. The water in my garage is approximately 1 inch deep- which will be a drywall mold nightmare! The broom finish that they have put on the sidewalk is horrendous the trolling is bulging and not even done in some areas. I spoke with the city of Edmonton for by law and they agree that the garage pad is terrible. I have also spoken with the Better Business Bureau. Please save yourself money and headache and do not use Derek concrete for any of your projects.
