    bar and cool rope lights

Sad that this great lil casual bar is feeling like it's on its way out. Has a pool table, darts, bar or restaurant seating. We were happy to be patient due to short staffing and be offered to order only the food they could make, but wow.. the good: We had tasty fried bar foods (though fries were pretty greasy) and a couple of beers. My hubby enjoyed his fried oysters. Ugh: It took so long and we weren't even in a hurry, but for lunch it is too long and overpriced. No water served and you feel bad as there is not enough help even on a week day. Had no idea draft beers were $8, prices aren't listed anywhere. I got my refill an hour after ordering it and was done eating. ( didn't even really want it anymore) No discounts or offer for crazy slow service. Got up to pay at bar. Staff seem nice enough, but I recommend driving on to Quilciene to have your pub foods. Sad as we used to love this fun divey cafe/bar of the past, the cool Geoduck. I wish I read these updated reviews, first as same has been said before and we could have saved hours of time, ah. no

I've seen this place for decades and have always wanted to check it out. Finally did today, and it didn't disappoint. The interior is exactly what you would imagine and hope it would be. The view is fantastic, and we got to watch seals splash around while we enjoyed Claws in the cool dining area. Didn't try the food, but it looked great on other people's tables. The server was working the whole front of house solo, and she was amazing.

The oyster sandwich was ok. The decor was kinda cool. The service was horrible. It wasn't that busy in the bar and yet everything took forever.

Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the wildlife in front of you. Eagles and heron and seals and more. You will have plenty of time as service is friendly but hours slow. It took us 2 hours from seating to get our food ordered and delivered. The food is fabulous. My friend prefers the loaded Reuben and another loved the huge burger. I tried a seafood platter with mixed results. The oysters and fish were fresh and delish. But I left the frozen fried prawns and clams and popcorn shrimp. Sit back and enjoy a beer and order the burger or Sammy.

We've been here twice now. When in the area we go out of our way to eat here. So good. The geoduck chowder is the best. Really good service and vibe.

Second time coming in here. The food and the service are both still great! Not to mention that during the pandemic time they were only doing take out. Since now they are on phase 2. They are finally letting customer in to the restaurant. You do have to wear a mask when entering to the building, then you can take off your mask. Gotta follow the safety protocol! One of my favorite item on their menu is their fried clam strips!!! They are delicious. Well fried and crispy, and not to mention a fair portion too. It come with your choice of soup or french fries. I would definitely get their clam chowder. It is delicious as well. Other items on their menu are great too, like their burger or sandwich. I will be back soon, any time when I'm at this side of the town!

We stopped by the Geoduck as part of our Hood Canal Loop drive. Our waitress is busy AND friendly. Starting out good. The bartender gave me two nice size samples of the two IPAs I was considering. The Dabob Bay IPA is a winner. I'm waiting on my "Ty One On" sandwich with oysters, bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, etc. The view of the Bay and the IPA make it an easy wait - plus a hummingbird just showed up at the flower pot near my feet. My sandwich arrives with a large amount of perfectly cooked fries. And the sandwich- tender lightly breaded oysters, fresh veggies with a healthy amount of sauce, on Killer homemade French bread. More like a soft Ciabatta than a French loaf. So good. 5 stars for a dive bar with restaurant!

I just want to start off by saying, there aren't a lot of places to eat in the area, definitely wouldn't say this is a great date spot or something to drive out of the way for, but if you're driving by and hungry- it's decent to stop at. The folks there were friendly and the deck had a nice view. Hopefully with the colder months coming up they'll get some heat lamps. We ordered the coconut shrimp basket and clam strips basket- both with a side of clam chowder and a side of regular fries. I've been watching a lot of worst chefs in America lately so I may be becoming a harsher critic, but I was just pretty underwhelmed. The clam chowder was great. The clam strips were not seasoned well, they weren't hot and some of them were rubbery. They were served with tarter sauce and a cocktail sauce with horseradish in it- kind of funky. The fries were not seasoned and over cooked. The coconut shrimp were pretty good, but could have had a better dipping sauce- it came with the same sauces as the clams. I felt like things were kind of expensive for the quality. My friend felt the prices were okay. Our experience here was okay. The servers were friendly but everything was very slow.

Geodyco fried oyster sandwich was great! Nice string drinks at a good price. Great (dive) bar to stop in at.

We volunteered with staff to serve, bus tables and stack firefighters plates with goodies. I'm talking pulled pork, garden fresh veggies and awesome deserts. For two weeks they did this. Recently the graduating class of 2026 needed a space for prom and guess who stepped up? Halfway house! The prom was so cool. I was happy to see this business so invested in the community once again. The food is great. I always get the big burger, mozzarella sticks and a slice of pie. I also recommend the salmon burger. Servers are real local folks who get to know you as a person, not just a customer. They deliver in the brinnon area too! I've had the delivery service bring me food when I was sick once. The driver was so sweet. He said feel better. Aww! It's important to me to shop small businesses as often as possible. This is once place that will always have my support.

They had to change the syrup for my soda, which took almost 15 minutes. When my soda arrived, it wasn't diet but the sugared version. No attempt made to fix this. When my meal arrived, the scramble ordered with egg whites only had bits of egg shell. I'm not sure how they got there, but it was I little like Russian Roulette as every third bit or so contained a tiny little egg shell piece. It was off putting. The potato hash accompanying the egg shell scramble was too greasy to have. Combine this food with a slightly combative server and you get a terrible and, in my case, unforgivable experience. Zero things went well and all of them went poorly. Breakfast for 2 was 60 bucks plus tip, and it's money I've invested in learning how much I do not care for Chestnut Cottage. 0/5, do not recommend

We actually drove past it several times on our trip. On the first night, there was a line of cars out all the way down 101. We decided to go for lunch instead since we didn't want to wait. This was a bit after noon and the line was way more manageable. Double Cheeseburger ($7.48) - They start with a fluffy sesame bun, then pile on the sauces (mayo, mustard, ketchup), diced onion, pickles, shredded lettuce, and finally two burger patties with cheese. The toppings are all on the bottom, which make the first flavor to hit the tongue a sweet, salty, sour, and creamy punch. There is a decent amount of lettuce and onion and only three small pickle chips that help add some additional crunch and acidity, but there aren't really enough to cover every bite. The burger patties are solid fast food/drive-in type patties. They have a decent char taste and are easy to eat, although there's not really any char texture, and instead the burgers are the same texture throughout. Overall, a good burger, as expected of this type of establishment. (4/5) Cheddar Cheese Curds ($3.95) - These are decent curds. They are fried to a good crisp. They're salty, cheesy, and have a good cheese curd chew. The breading has small rocky pieces of raised breading embedded throughout. Pretty standard fried curds. Unfortunately they don't really give a lot for the price - only like 10 or so curds. (4/5) Milkshake, Large, Huckleberry ($4.95) - This milkshake has nice smooth consistency throughout. There aren't any thicker or thinner spots in particular, so it's a nice drink from start to finish. Very drinkable, not horribly oversweet, and with a good huckleberry flavor. I mean, it's a milkshake. Even an average milkshake is good! (4/5) Frugals is a pretty typical drive through/in burger place. They don't knock anything out of the park, but serve good classic burgers, milkshakes, and sides.
