Former director George Wharton changed my life.
When I was placed in the George Foster Home as a troubled teenager in lieu of incarceration, Mr. Wharton really took an interest in me.
I was a mess. Drugs and other criminal activity had been a significant part of my life at that time.
Mr. Wharton persisted in trying to help me even though I was incredibly resistant, and frankly, horrible to him. But thanks to that persistence he was able to turn me around and get me on the right path.
Today I am an oncologist at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus and am married to a wonderful woman and couldn't feel more fulfilled.
