I'd put 0 stars if I could, but 1 will have to do for now. Do NOT enroll your children into this school if you want your child to feel safe. For starters, they are extremely uncoordinated, especially on the first day as they are a mess. They never inform students of important events until a week or even a few days before. The teachers are more enthusiastic than the principal herself. The guidance counselor does not do anything, you literally have to harass her if you want an answer out of her and yet it will still take her MONTHS to actually do something about it. Certain teachers are favored more over others, and the teachers also hold favoritism. I remember that in my time during my school year (keep in mind, we're only talking about ONE school year) where one kid had gotten in trouble many times, and yet another kid, who had been very troublesome had barely gotten in trouble, if he ever did. The gym teachers also don't consider their female students (unless they're popular), especially when they're on their periods, often not allowing them to sit out. And certain teachers were quite creepy to female students, often catcalling and giving unwanted attention to them. The school has a record of hiring pedophiles, considering that they used to employ Jessica Bader, a teacher who had harassed and engaged in a romantic, possibly sexual relationship with students before transferring to another school and then getting her teacher's license revoked. And we haven't even talked about the issue of bullying within the school's community. Fights often started, whether inside or outside the school, racism and homophobia were topics used often when joking around, and rules were rarely ever followed in school. Every year, this is an assembly for the entire school about the rules and behaviors allowed in school. Why waste an entire period trying to make students comprehend that "Bullying is bad!" and "Your actions have consequences!" to kids who literally don't even care? I have literally seen a group of kids drag another kid across the gym floor in front of teachers, and yet the teachers didn't do anything. In fact, the teacher encouraged it. The environment is very unclean. There are literally pieces of trash seen throughout the entire school. There is gum all over the floors, the walls, the desks, whatever you can think of, there's definitely gum stuck to it. The food is also utterly disgusting. It can't even be described. It's just terrible. I remember drinking a beverage provided by the school and reading the ingredients on the container out of boredom, and yet saw that it had been expired for days. I never ate school food ever again. My classmates had also mentioned seeing expired food provided to them, along with MOLD in their food. That's a health hazard, and keep in mind, this is normal for a school like this. The school does not care about their students. I remember the amount of issues that had risen during one singular school year, and yet the school could barely manage to even handle a few of them. Let's also mention the fact that teachers have us do work and yet they never grade them. I remember asking my math teacher whether or not she would grade quite an important project, and she had responded with a yes, and yet when grades came out, it hadn't even been graded. They also never fail to make a mistake. The school had taken a majority of the school year to make a yearbook for seniors, and yet they were still able to make errors within the book. And the bathroom policy was absolutely ridiculous. They created a timer for students for when they could and couldn't use the bathroom. Students weren't able to use the bathroom for over half of the day because of this, and they end up locking the bathrooms, meaning there's no telling if there's a student that they're locking inside. read more
