    Sensational salad with grilled salmon.

George's is a good spot! You can feel they take good care of you as a client and friend. We ordered an appetizer: boudin balls, the best ! Then, I ordered a sensational salad with grilled salmon, exquisite! My husband ordered a Philly cheesesteak poboy, it's delicious! We are always happy and well served from all staff.

    Best burger in town!

Local favorite. George's is a great spot if you are craving a burger that tastes homemade. They have great sweet potatoes fries as well. They do have healthy options as well with their grilled chicken plate. Great spot to stop before an LsU baseball game too. Plenty of TVs to watch the game as well.

5 stars for the best fried catfish in town! I'm super picky when it comes to seafood. I always remove the dark line of meat down the middle of catfish before cooking. By doing this, the fish won't taste super fishy or have that slimy gray stuff on the inside. Most restaurants do not remove this but George's does! I've had the fried catfish at George's several times now and I've never been disappointed. The fish is always cleaned well and taste so fresh! During this visit, I subbed out the fries for their onion rings. We also had the special of the day which was the red beans, rice, and sausage. Very good as well! You order at the bar here and they call your name to come back up once your food is ready. Service is always fast and the place has a nice laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Onion rings, sweet potato fries & cheeseburger with the burger special and fries. All great!

Just the burger place we were looking for. Very casual & cozy spot to eat. I had the cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and both were delicious. We ordered onion rings and while they came cold they were still good. My husband had the special burger of the day with fries and he loved it. Just walk up to the bar and order, then wait till they call you up to pay & get your food. Can't wait to try more & maybe a dessert. The menu looks pretty nice. You can tell this is an oldie but goodie kinda place.

All the makings of a Great Louisiana diner! Smell of fried catfish and available hot sauces to grab.

Great local joint, if I lived in the area, I would be a regular. The food is good and the atmosphere is a friendly and classic. Great staff and if you are craving a Philly, burger, or club; highly recommend it.

WHERE IS THE FLAVOR GEORGE. Got an order of onion rings , catfish , and a bacon cheeseburger. Burger is over cooked and bland bland bland. Burger is just such a weak effort , more flavor in a McDonald's burger 2/10 on the burg. The Onion rings are stupid . I've never felt so dumb just sitting there gnawing on a onion . No flavor at all , they didn't even attempt to season them . 1/10 onion rings . Catfish is the only saving Grace of this order . Actually seasoned and taste pretty good 7/10 on the catfish. Fries are ass , obviously not seasoned and were cold 2/10. Overall very let down by this order and won't be ordering again . I know this place has been good in the past but this lackluster effort has tarnished their reputation in my mind and I don't want someone else to make the same mistake. George u have failed me , and we won't be meeting again . Have a good life george

Food is good and has been for a long time - pricing is the reason for 3 stars - it's just getting expensive for bar food.

Any place that is known for their oysters will always get my vote, even when they opened during the height of COVID. They still managed to push along and became one of the city's most well-known seafood destinations. Fast forward to 2025 and it's now closed. While I'm disappointed, I can't say I'm surprised. The place went from being the new kid in town to looking dated in a short handful of years. The staff was always a mixed bag, with subpar service outpacing the occasional outstanding experiences. It was always so spacious in here but rarely full, that I never understood the need for the hostess to give my large groups of people a hard time about not making reservations. (#1) The oysters are and will always be the star of the show. I love a good raw oyster and they seemed to have a decent batch each time, however the charbroiled ones were the ones to get. They were buttery, a little messy, and heavily seasoned with lots of salty parmesan on top. It was sometimes the only worth ordering given how inconsistent the rest of the menu was. Some other go-tos were the seafood pasta, lobster mac, and even the occasional gator tacos but even those dishes had their bad days. I was actually pretty impressed with their ribeye, but was quite disappointed with the boudin balls, gumbo, and some of their fried shrimp. In addition to service snafus and inconsistent food, the prices were always a tough pill to swallow. I'm aware seafood will forever carry a premium price tag, but when other seafood places charge a lot less for better quality output, then it becomes a point of contention. While I do hope they find a reason to re-open in Baton Rouge, I think I'll stick to their original location in Metairie. You can literally pick your out fish and have them cook it right there. Like how fresher can it get?? I chose the Louisiana Red Snapper since it's one of my favorite fish to eat. I had to go crazy with it: * Fried Seafood Sampler: Fresh-cut US catfish, jumbo shrimp, and Louisiana oysters. That catfish?? It's easily the meatiest I've ever had; crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. * Louisiana Red Snapper this was my "foodie victim" but man, it was super tender, light crisp, just melts when you bite into it. Lowkey, it's one those hole-in-the-wall spots you don't expect to hit like this but it does, on a whole another level. I'll definitely be back. What I liked the most about going there to pick up my food was the cleanliness and the customer service. I loved loved loved the flavor of the fried red snapper. 10/10. You should definitely check them out if youre looking for a place to buy fresh fish to cook at home also.

A True Hidden Gem - Lagniappe Steak & Seafood (Bluebonnet Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA)…read more I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lagniappe Steak & Seafood on Bluebonnet, and it is without question one of Baton Rouge's best-kept restaurant secrets. On my first visit this past Wednesday, I ordered the fried shrimp and catfish lunch special, and immediately knew this place was different. The seafood was perfectly seasoned--not overly salted or heavily breaded, just a delicate, crisp coating that highlighted the freshness and natural flavor. The servers were exceptionally professional--friendly and attentive without being overly familiar, which I truly appreciate. What took the experience to the next level was when Anas, the manager or owner, personally came out to check on my meal. She was tall, poised, and stunning--truly looked like she could walk a high-fashion runway in Paris! Her elegance and hospitality added a touch of class you just don't see often anymore. I was so impressed that I returned two days later--the day after Thanksgiving--to try the grilled pork chop I've been hearing people rave about. Let me tell you... WOW. It was phenomenal. Juicy, tender, perfectly grilled with picture-perfect char marks--honestly felt like eating a premium steak. I give it a 10/10 without hesitation. On that visit, Jennifer was my server and she was fantastic--attentive, warm, and highly professional. Now here's the part that blows people's minds: these incredible meals were part of the lunch special, priced similarly to what most folks spend at a fast-food restaurant for a two-piece combo with fries and a drink. Same price--completely different level of dining. And for those who don't know: I've traveled all over the world and I am the ultimate foodie--something my followers know well. I live for great cuisine, authentic flavor, and memorable dining experiences. So when I tell you this place is worth your time, believe me. --- When in Baton Rouge, go to Lagniappe Steak & Seafood. You will not be disappointed by the ambience, service, or the quality of the food. A genuine 5-star dining experience and without a doubt one of the finest hidden gems in the city.

Looking forward to going back--especially once the weather warms up so I can enjoy the patio!
