Nice hotel / resort on the edge of the Blue mountains. Quiet and comfortable speaks volumes here, a great area for a getaway!

We stayed in a Deluxe room... king sized bed, mini fridge, microwave. Very basic. The first room we were put in on the first floor was... unfortunate. Tiny, narrow, an old, dingy, worse-for-wear carpet. A Bathroom that was tiny and awkward for one person to navigate, one chair in the room even though there was room for a second chair. It was also excessively noisy. We asked to move rooms, and the front desk staff was very accommodating. We were moved into a renovated room in "the tower." The new room was a big improvement. Nicer, more spacious, two chairs, much quieter. The pool we hung out at a couple times was nice, although the pool area is in need of some repair and new chairs. The mini put course was fun, although the course is natural grass, but mostly weeds. read more

We found this place through Expedia and I'm so glad we did! I really did enjoy my stay here The lady at the front desk was very nice and even upgraded us to a suite with a Jacuzzi tub with no additional costs. How nice is that? When we arrived at the room, we were quite shocked to see the size of the suite. It was HUGE!! It had a full blown kitchen that was stocked with everything I would ever need- I'm talking baking pans! The living room was a good size but my favorite thing about the room? That king size bed and Jacuzzi tub! The suite even came with a fireplace, that was a nice touch for a romantic night with a significant others. As for their breakfast in the morning, not the best. However, their potatoes were amazing! I came back for seconds on those. But, everything else was mediocre at best. Not to mention, the dinner menu didn't seem enticing either. I will definitely be back to stay with this resort and hopefully longer in the future! read more

We went to Blue Mountain for skiing past two weekends and decided to stay here for a night in two bedroom suite plus kitchenette. Price is very competitive and reasonable as it it way cheaper than Blue Mountain resorts. The location is very good as it is only 10 minutes away from Blue Mountain. Room was spacious, bathrooms was spotless and so what the kitchen. My only complaint was that they don't have down comforters on the beds. We will definitely be back. read more

The property itself is brutal. I have never experienced so much irritating noise in a hotel. There was constant, random noises from both guests and staff all day and into the night. I was woken up by staff literally screaming at each other in the hall as part of what I thought was a normal conversation. I have no idea what the walls and doors are made of here. Our "renovated" room had a bathroom fan that randomly came on and turned off without a switch. Is it on a timer? Who knows. Shower had such low pressure that it was difficult to actually shower. The shower was full of mildew. The hall leading to our room smelled like a fast food place. The mattress was sunken in the middle. All this for the low price of $400 per night. read more

Fun place to visit. Great tennis facility. Nice neighborly experience. Lush green grass everywhere, so nicely maintained. The houses are high-ceilinged and well appointed. The distances to Blue Mountain and Collingwood are short, but still far enough away to be away from "the crowd" and "the traffic". It's kind of a millionaires paradise compared to other resorts. It is also a short 1-mile beautiful walk to a dense forest trail. Great for hiking! read more

Stayed here for a night in one of the town homes outside which was wonderful with a great space and everything you need...to an extent. We arrived at the hotel and asked if our room might have been ready early and the lady at the front desk was very rude. I work in hospitality and know she was not treating us with respect or up to the company standards. She was very rude and spoke to us as if we were stupid and felt that there was an underlying judgment/ racism in the way she spoke and looked at us because we were not white. She mentioned to us as if we were supposed to know what time housekeeping would start cleaning rooms but only an employee would know that. We came back to check in at the proper time and it was great that she wasn't there. The other front desk employees were very kind and welcoming like how you expect them to be. Check in was very smooth and would rather not have dealt with the first person. Once we got into our town home it was very nice and has everything you need but the lamp shade had holes in it. One of the bathtubs drain did not work properly so I had to dig my finger under the cap to unscrew it so the water would drain. The dishwasher did not work properly and the box of soap provided for the dishwasher was practically empty. The dishes were not cleaned properly so we had to wash them ourselves to actually use them. The room i had used was very cold compare to the rest of the house as well. OverAll great place to stay but so much room for improvement. Housekeeping and front desk very much so need improvement. I expect so much more from Wyndham. read more

So.. tasked to find a place some where close enough to Toronto, but at the same time far enough.. I decided that this was it after seeing the pictures and reading the amenities--tennis courts, golf course, club house, spa (which i enjoyed--my face is still glowing from my treatment; people in the waiting room couldn't wait to book their next massage--which my friend declined), restaurant, pool, sauna.. the list goes on. The front desk was friendly during check-in and check-out. I called and got a late check-out with no problems. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, complete with kitchen, 2.5 bath, fireplace, and whirlpool tub. Needless to say, it was nice and roomy. Would we go back again? most definitely... and with more days next time. read more

I found out about this resort looking for accommodations near Blue Mountain via my timeshare. I've stayed here on several occasions and have always been impressed. In the main building some of the units are massive, I recently stayed in a 1,500 sq foot unit, 2 queen bedrooms, a pull out couch and a full kitchen. The outdoor town homes are also massive and beautiful, if you do book one be sure to request the newly furnished homes. There are tons of amenities at this resort and the staff are friendly. Just a 5 min drive from Blue Mountain and there are 2 rental spots on your way. Topper's Pizza is a great option if ordering in. read more

As I walked into the lobby, I couldn't help but think I just went on a trip in the Hot Tub Time Machine back to the 1980's. Everything from the decor, furniture, drapes, bland colour scheme and even the old handheld calculator I saw behind the front desk indicated that nothing has changed here in decades. No doubt, the place needs some major updating, but surprisingly everything was also super clean and well maintained, so their unintentional retro museum is preserved perfectly. The rooms have decent amount of space and there's free parking for guests. The free wifi is a bit slow, but it's still free in room wifi. There's also a pool and an actual hot tub on the main floor. The view of the resort from the main road makes the place seem huge and gets your excited until you get closer and see how outdated things are. Overall, still a decent stay at one of the few 3 star places in the Collingwood area. read more

We booked a three night stay at Georgian Bay Hotel directly with this hotel. This was the hotel NOT the timeshare. This is a hotel we have stayed in numerous times, going back to the 1980's when it was the Vacation Inn, later Georgian Manor. Over the years the name and I assume management has changed several times. Lately, due to a change in our travel we have not stayed here as frequently as years past. It had been two years since last staying here. We checked in without incident. One enters into a very modern, grand, spacious, elegant looking lobby complete with grand piano, numerous leather couches and beautiful decor. A large modern Guest Services area welcomes guests. Beautiful. As the hotel has no elevator we lugged our suitcases up the stairs to the second floor having to go through three more doors to get to the room. We arrived at our room, king size bedroom with microwave and mini fridge exactly as expected. The website indicated that the spa and pool had been updated. No mention made of the hot tub. It had always been there and we were looking forward to using it due to a hip issue. Very disappointed to find it was totally out of service, had been, and would be out of service for some time to come. Not what we expected. WIFI although provided was extremely limited and intermittent. On a couple of occasions we were "rejected" and had to have front desk reprogram it. Generally it was only available between 12 am and 7 am. The rest of the day the wheel just spins. The second day upon return to our room, the bed was made, coffee and cups replenished, waste baskets emptied, clean towels provided and room tidied. No complaints. The third day we left at 9 am. Upon returning for 45 minutes around 1 pm the room had not been touched. We saw housekeeping working on the floor. Around 3 pm upon returning to room and still lacking service we went to Guest Services and informed them our room needed service and he phoned housekeeping. We were informed they would get to it. We returned shortly before 5 pm and found our room untouched. We again visited Guest Services informed them that this was not yet done. We were told that "they were very busy as they had a large turnover" and indicated they would get to it. We told them we needed to use the room for the next hour as we had a 6 pm dinner reservation and requested towels. Towels were delivered shortly after. We left around 6 pm. Upon returning at 9:30 pm we found NOTHING had still been done to our room. Bed unmade, waste baskets overflowing, nothing refilled and generally untidy. This was very upsetting. Once again we went down and informed Guest Services and he indicated that he was "sorry" but that nothing could be done. We had to return to Guest Services another time to obtain coffee and cups for the morning and shampoo. Mistakes and oversights can happen but this was ridiculous. The next morning upon checking out we met with the Guest Services Manager, Ms Jennifer Miller. After voicing our frustration regarding the lack of services which had been brought to their attention repeatedly throughout the day she reluctantly gave us 10% off. She indicated she would further check with housekeeping. We got the impression that she did not believe us. Also said she would check further with her manager. She has our email and phone number. We have heard nothing more. Along with the total lack of service they minimized our concern and we were repeatedly made to feel that our issue was not important to them. We also got the impression from them that we were not being forthright. Consequently, we will no longer stay at this hotel and would advise others to do likewise. Do not be fooled by the impressive lobby. Service is sorely lacking. read more

The hotel is stunning and CLEAN. We had a suite style room and it fit all our needs! The rooms did not have controlled AC in the living room so we asked for extra fans as it got very hot but the rooms where stunning! However,​ when we checked in it felt rushed, little was explained to us, did not tell us our check etc. There was also a mix up regarding "breakfast vouchers" it was explained you had to pre-purchase​ them which we didn't​t so we ended up paying extra for that. Wished we knew at it when we checked in rather than our last day! Overall the hotel was beautiful and the rooms were​ excellent! read more

This place is gross. They charge you for everything! Nothing is complimentary, which is probably how they pay their bills every month, because I can't imagine people who would want to come back. I stayed in a one bedroom, it was below average. The decent part about the place is that the kitchen has everything you need from cups, plates, pots, exc. The downside is everything else. The bathroom was filthy, literally the tub has not been washed forever. It bathtub was black on the bottom, as if the guests before us took showers in their shoes, and it also had red, disgusting soap scum everywhere. The shower head had no pressure and it was super difficult do the most simple thing, like washing your face... because you had to play Marco Polo with the water, and figure out where the water decided to drip from. You also have to hold the toilet handle down for ever to flush, and the sink water was clogged and wouldn't go down. I seriously felt like I was in a horror movie. We asked if we could get cleaning supplies to clean it ourselves, they said they didn't have any (which explains why it's so damn dirty). Instead they said they would send someone, a someone who didn't come until we asked again the next day. Two ladies came, sprayed some crap, and wiped it for 2 seconds... not cleaned, wiped. A child has better knowledge of how to clean a bathtub... The linens and towels were not fresh, and actually seemed dirty, thank God I brought my own. The ONE window in the room didn't open, and they didn't have a screen door, so the room was always either stale smelling, or had bugs fly in. Also the lighting was terrible I felt like I was living in a perpetually dark cave. Also, we stayed for a week and ran out of toilet paper at one point. To my surprise they didn't have an extra roll in the cabinet. So my mom went down to ask if someone could bring some more (by the way you always have to go down, because calling the front desk is useless, they never pick up). The lady at the desk informed us that they give everyone a "starter kit" and after that you are on your own. WOOOOOOWWWWWW NEVER IN MY LIFE have I heard that from any "resort" I have stayed in. So basically they advertise a room that will fit four people, get give you half a roll of toilet paper, one shampoo, one lotion, and two soaps to last you a week. FAIL. Also they charge you $50 to get your room cleaned... So if you think about coming to this place make sure you bring linens, towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and toiletries with you... or better yet, don't waste your time coming at all. The pools are tiny and if the bleach in the Jacuzzi doesn't kill you, the over heating or uneven soaked floors definitely will. This place is boring, it smells, it's dirty, they offer absolutely nothing to make your stay pleasant, and it's too far of a drive from anything worth seeing. They rate this shitter a 5 star... really? More like motel quality 1 star read more

First, the name is deceiving. This is a time share so some of the reviews based on a resort hotel which it is, but as a time share with different options, I enjoyed it with a friend who owns a timeshare and the accommodations were wonderful. We basically stayed in a large duplex with ample parking, 3 bedrooms spacious full dining/living room and kitchen. The master bedroom had a jacuzzi, television, and fireplace. The 2nd bedroom had a full bath as well with queen bed and the third room had 2 twin beds with a full bath downstairs. We grilled and cooked our own delicious meals 3 of the 6 nights and really enjoyed the accommodations. The clubhouse is great for kids. Indoor and outdoor pools although the exercise room was very small. We rented bikes for the day and enjoyed the excursion into town. read more

I stayed at this "resort" after buying a voucher from Deal Getters. As part of the package, we had to attend a 90 minute "presentation" and we got a 1 night stay, a 2 for 1 dinner voucher and a $10 credit for breakfast. We were also supposed to receive a 1 round of free golf voucher but we never received it. I am rating the hotel as below average as there was nothing special about the room we received. The bed was a little hard and so were the pillows. The TV and decor we older and the AC unit was loud. There was no hair dryer or iron/iron board in the room and we had to request these. If they were trying to wow us at the resort, they completely failed to do so. At dinner, the food was terrible and overpriced but our server was fantastic. We had the buffet for breakfast. The food is decent but this is also overpriced. The one thing that made the whole experience really terrible was the "presentation". Our presentation was supposed to be at 10:30am and we were in the lobby by 10:20am. However, they didn't take us into the room until 10:55am. They were trying to sell us a vacation membership. I've been through this type of experience before and all they do is try to butter you up and then tell you how much money you'll save by buying the membership, which if you actually have any intelligence, you will realize that there is absolutely no value in it. This type of pressure sales tactic is for suckers, which is why they want to to make a decision on the spot. We wanted to be polite and told the person that we had no intention of buying anything but she just kept going and going. Finally, after 2.5 hours of wasting both of our time (yes, this was supposed to be 90 minutes), we basically said no once again. She then got up from the table, didn't even really say goodbye or thank you for your time and proceeded to her next victims. I don't recommend this "resort" to anyone. Buying the voucher was a stupid mistake and I wish I could go back in time and never have bought it. read more

I come here just about every year. It's part of my timeshare so I try to take advantage of it. It's not the only timeshare in the area but it's the one my family and I like. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. The gym is basic but its everything you could need on a vacation. The spa isn't high end but it is nice. There is lots to do in the area, shopping, theater, restaurants, skiing, horseback riding and more. I'm finding this year (end of April 2015) that there's a really bad ant problem all through the resort. In our room they are running all over the counter and kitchen floor. They have put Keurig machines in the room and once you run out of coffee you can get more at the front desk for a dollar each, I'm unhappy about that. A handful of k-cups doesn't last a room of 4 very long. However there are two grocery stores and a Walmart 10 minutes away by car. read more

From the beginning of my arrival, the service wasn't good. It then just got worse and worse from there on. It wasn't just the service that was very bad, but the fact that for a hotel this size (they "say" it's a timeshare") they don't even have a hot tub! In a snowy, ski-season "resort" where it's going to be utilized in winter; that's just shocking. The pool was full, so my son didn't wish to swim there. Honestly, I'm so not that person that complains about anything, but EVEN the room service wasn't there! Apparently the restaurant doesn't belong to the resort, and I was NOT able to order take out tonight (New Years Eve). Once I called the front desk, they transferred me to the restaurant, .... who then proceeded to just place me ON HOLD! seriously? I couldn't believe it. They could have just mentioned they were "busy" so I went out there to see just how busy they were; and they weren't!~ So what can I say..... Absolutely the WORSE service I've ever experienced - enough for me to write about my terrible experience (Which I absolutely NEVER do). I will never return here - that's my promise to them!~ NEVER! .... and I'll tell you one thing.... I'm a traveller big time - so that is unfortunate. Lucky for me though - there's TONS of other places around here - WITH a hot tub, a restaurant that WANTS to serve you, and that is also closer to the mountains!~ :) I"D THINK TWICE IF I WERE YOU!~ read more

The place is really nice. The grounds are well kept. It is an older property so do not expect state of the art stuff. Speaking of state of the art, they really need to update their wifi. I kept on getting disconnected and it was so slow. It was very frustrating. It was as if you are in a third world country. The staff was great and very friendly. read more

First off, the name Georgian Manor "Resort" is a fluke....it is not at all a Resort....the amenities fall in line with that of a regular hotel and the room quality is more so like that of a motel.....So once we hit the reality, the major disappointment was the mandatory presentation right in the morning at 09:00 on a Sunday....it took away 2 hrs from the room stay, thereby send us rushing through the packing etc....The presentation does put some negativity and disappointment when you don't buy their so called 50 yr upfront paid vacation program. Not at all worth a visit.....rather stay home than going to this place even if it is for free..... read more
