I wish I could give them less than one star however... let me tell you what these boneheads did at this god awful car dealership I was there with my grandson we looked at a used pick up truck liked it while sitting in the salesman's office writing up the contract etc. staff member said sorry fellas will have to finalize this deal tomorrow can't sell any more cars today management is all going to dinner at 6 PM... we said fine will come back tomorrow and purchase the vehicle we made a and appointment for 2:30 PM for my grandson did not get off work until 2 PM however about 8 AM the next morning he received a text from the salesman stating sorry we sold your truck...WTF !!! I purchased my daughters Honda from what was Heidi Honda I liked the place when it was Heidi Honda however I think the new management is a bunch of well... obvious communication problems...I had heard bad things about them with advice to never purchase a used vehicle from any Germain auto group...a friend of mine told me about a truck he purchased there for $30,000 the motor blew and they would not help him with any anything however live and learn. We found a nice truck $2000 less with a few more miles very clean in and out and four-wheel-drive The previous truck did not have four-wheel-drive... Purchased older vehicle long distance, after looking in my area for 2 months. Melissa Moore, Jenna R Combs, David Allen and Bill Smyth were fantastic and very patient. At my request, they delivered my vehicle to an independent mechanic for inspection, picked it up, sent me the paperwork and instructions for wire transfer and I had a car!! They even arranged transport when my transport company flaked out! Very, very happy with the customer service, professionalism and humanity shown by this company. Buying a car is never easy, more so when the vehicle is sight unseen, but these guys made it much more comfortable, and I ended up with exactly what I wanted. Thank you Germain Honda! read more

I went in for a service and they found a slow leak from a screw in my tire. They said it was in the tread but within 2 inches of the sidewall and that I should buy a new tire for $200 some dollars. I asked them to air it up and I took it to Costco where I had purchased the tires. The technician there looked at it and came out with a screw less that half of an inch long and patched it for free. Avoid this place if at all possible. I have two Hondas and have gone here for repairs over the last couple of years, but never again. On my last visit I had issues with my Accord not starting, I was told that the car needed a new fuse box and after a week I got my car back. I noticed immediately that the driver's side power window no longer worked, a problem the car had never had before. I brought the car back and was told the motor needed to be replaced; they claimed it had nothing to do with the electrical repair they had just performed. Was called a few days later and was told the door latch would also need to be replaced. When I told the sales associate that the door latch, like the power window, had never had any issues I was told that they would "take care of it" and I wouldn't be charged, like he knew it was their fault. I have never had a repair here cost less than what was estimated (often the costs are double or more), and if you read the other reviews here you will see a pattern of 'upselling' when it comes to repairs. My advice to Honda owners? Find yourself a good trustworthy mechanic, don't waste your money here. Oh, their hours are also terrible and good luck getting repairs done in a timely fashion. read more

Bought a new car here when it was Hidy Honda. Hidy was great. My Fit has the start-up rattle. Went for an oil change and was told I could schedule a diagnostic. $105+. It wouldn't ratlle - only does it cold. They know that. Claimed they hadn't heard of the start-up rattle. It's in multiple bulletins for Hondas from 2008 on. They knew. Waited three hours for an oil change and a service tech to come out and talk to me. Went back and asked twice - no one came out, but they had time to talk to the guy next to me to sell him a new car. Huh. Called back three times. No service tech available. Left a message. No call back. Called again - said they answer all the messages, so I should just relax. They want money, but they don;t want to provide service. Went to Bill Marine Honda in Springfield, OH. They put me in loaner, fixed the rattle, fixed the radio (fuse), fixed a broken seat belt cover they didn't have to. Treated me like company. Terrific. I'll buy another Honda, but not from Germain. read more

I bought my 2016 Honda HRV from Germain and I have no issue with the sales department. The collision shop is a different story! I was in a minor fender-bender a couple of weeks ago and thought since the car was still under warranty, I would take it to them for the repair. I took it in 10 days ago. They said it would be ready in 5 days. It's been more than 10 days and all I've gotten for the last 5 days is jacked around. My first surprise when I called 4 days after I had turned it in and found out it had yet to be painted as the paint shop was 'backed up'. I understand things happen. Three days ago, I called to find out what was going on with my car. I was told that the wheel that was ordered never came in and no one noticed. I asked if they could find out where it was. Some one finally found it. It was sent to the tire and alignment shop almost 2 days ago. I received a call that it was completed and should be back for detailing today. I called back again to make sure about how to handle the rental car and was told it never came back from the tire/alignment shop! It's been there for 2 days! Why? The other problem I'm having is the fact that my insurance only covers 80% of the rental. I've tried to explain this to them multiple times, but they don't seem the least bit concerned. Maybe if it was their money they might care more. I will never have my car repaired there again. It's a 3-ring circus complete with clowns! read more

Took my Honda Odyssey to Germain Honda for intermittent shuddering at 40 mph. Initially told torque converter was going bad (only 86,500 miles on the vehicle). After a week, told the transmission had a small crack where a bolt is secured and was told that the dealership would cover the cost. I agreed to the work. Two hours later reneged on the agreement and said the cost was mine. With no other options, agreed to the work. During the 5 weeks they had my vehicle, I was told that the transmission ordered was taking longer than expected to ship, then I was told that they had installed the wrong transmission and had to order a different one, then finally it was ready. Upon picking it up, driving only a few miles is all it took to know that it was not repaired properly. It pulled to the right, ran rough, and still shuddered at 40 mph, but now also at 20 mph. I took it back the next day. It took 4 more weeks to get it back, being told by the service manager that they were waiting on parts. I was not told what they were doing to the vehicle when I inquired by phone. When I asked upon picking it up, I was told the torque converter was not engaging properly so a software update was performed. No parts were replaced. I later contacted the service manager who proceeded to tell me that they had "replaced a rear camber kit for the suspension. Performed an alignment." and also that there was nothing wrong with the transmission. So, who is telling the truth?? The vehicle is now aligned, but runs even worse that before, with shuddering at 20 mph, 40 mph, and 60 mph. After driving for 25 minutes on the highway, the engine felt like it was grinding and was sluggish. I thought I was going to break down. I am out over $2000 in repair money and am left with a vehicle that is more disrepair than before. I feel lied to, strung along, and taken advantage of, not to mention swindled out of my money. Definitely think twice before taking your vehicle to this dealership. read more

I want to warn others about this dealer. My experience in trying to buy a vehicle there last week was not good. I definitely recommend that you have your own financing ready before you go there if you do. Also, don't be fooled when the sales person constantly says they are non commissioned. I was told as soon as we started looking that all certified honda had a 2.49 interest rate. This was better than what my bank had told I could get with our excellent credit. We found a vehicle and the sales man worked it up and put a paper to sign with a monthly payment well above what a 2.49 or even a 4.41 would have so I knew something was up. The salesman then said he'd made a mistake and the vehicle we had chosen wasn't included in the certified deal for 2.49. The salesman tried to wash his hands of the financing part and handed us off to talk with the finance person. The finance person said he could set us up with my bank, but pulled up a screen with a rate above 5%. He proceeded to criticize my credit ( which is above 800). He said that 5+% was the corporate rate. I don't take well to scams and so I walked out. This dealer makes money by pushing people into high interest rates that they most likely get a cut on. Be prepared with your own loan finalized if you go into this dealer. I came back Saturday with my own financing that would be sent to the dealer on Monday but the dealer would not hold the vehicle until Monday and it was sold later in the day on Sunday. This is a deceptive selling process designed to get people into a high interest rate loan. The salesman did call to apologize but for me their credibility was already significantly damaged. read more

Worst experience from a car dealership. They fake a nice attitude to try to get your money but they'll leave you high and dry when you need help with the car that they sold you a month later. They never answer the phone, ( tried to get a hold of multiple people for two days). Even had a personal phone number, still didn't answer. Their attitude has changed drastically since they took my money. I had a popped tired was on the side of the road, didn't know how to use roadside assistance, needed held and no response for two days!! Had my car towed to a different Honda in Cincinnati and they gave me more respect and courtesy then the Honda dealership that initially sold me the car. Called the front desk and found out the people I needed to get in contact with were there the whole time, but couldn't pick up the phone until I requested their manager to transfer me. There was no apology or empathy only attitude. Nobody checked on us or gave us a follow up call. Overall this dealership only cares about making a sale, don't expect any help or kindness from these people. Scott gave me false information, and had the worst attitude of them all. He was nice when we were signing the contract but did a complete 180 when we needed help from him. Super rude and unprofessional, I regret ever being in contact with him. Stacy sold me the car, he was very nice and helpful when we were buying the car, but like I said in the review damn near useless when it comes to any kind of help. Good luck trying to reach anybody once you buy your car. Pray nothing happens to your car cause you're gonna be waiting a while before you get a response. read more

Took my CRV in for "B1" maintenance. My owners manual indicates this involved an oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. When checking in, the service advisor informed me that the "B1" also includes cleaning the fuel injectors. He completed my order form in the amount of $139.00. I presented a coupon for a free oil change and tire rotation that I had previously received from Germain for poor service. He discarded the original work order and created a new one. When I was advised that my vehicle was ready, I expected a bill of around $70.00 for the fuel injector cleaning, having subtracted the $69.95 oil change and tire rotation from the $139.00. I was told there was no charge because of the coupon. After arriving home I reviewed my order form and there was no mention of the fuel injectors. I contacted another Honda Service Department and asked about the "B1." I was advised that this included the oil change, tire rotation and inspections. When I mentioned cleaning the fuel injectors, this advisor had no idea what I was talking about. He advised me that there are no maintenance reminder codes for fuel injectors. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Germain. read more

I have been purchasing Hondas here since moving to the area. I believe the Odyssey is the best minivan in the market of which I have owned 4. We are now considering our 5th due to the many options it has. Germain has been great to work with. I get great deals and the service is excellent. I have been so satisfied, my son and my daughter now shop at Germain. The store is very clean and customer friendly. I highly recommend Germain to everyone. read more

Avoid this service center. They cannot be trusted. I had gone to Germain Honda for years while they were still Hidy Honda and I received excellent service, but since Germain took over, they have really slipped. I had long waits to get my service completed. Service people would not answer the phone and would answer me with curt remarks (more company line responses than attempts to understand). They repeatedly made additional service recommendations that I would learn were unnecessary when I would go to different mechanics. I grew tired of it and ceased going. I went back recently because I needed some recall work. It was the same thing. They told me I had a cracked oil gasket. I told them I have never seen oil leaks under my car so I failed to understand how I could be leaking oil just now. The service person told me it was a "re-sealing" leaks that was probably going to get worse. Just more of the same garbage they had been doing to me before. I complained the the service manager about my frustrations, and he told me he had never heard of any customer having this type of problem with their service before me and said they do not recommend unnecessary work or do things to cars to create more work for themselves. Apparently, he has not been out to Yelp to see their reviews. This seems to be a repeated pattern with their service department. Either they are incompetent or they find ways to squeeze more service repairs out your vehicle. Avoid this place! The management does not care about customers. Their concern is only how much money they can get out of you. I do not trust the care of my car to them. I will drive the extra miles to get to Joe Morgan or White Allen. I will not be giving Germain any more chances. read more

STAY AWAY! Bought a Certified Used Honda and love it, however the folks here are crooks. Part of buying a Certified Used car is the inspection and knowing that everything is as it should be. I travel long distances for work so my first service after purchasing the car (about a month and 6000 miles) I ended up at a Honda dealer in a different state. Imagine my surprise when they told me the transmission fluid was dirty, the rear brakes were at less than 1% (certified used cars require brakes at 50% or better), my air filter & cabin filter were dirty and my coolant needed to be changed. I suspected it was a tech looking for more work so I asked to see the car (I was a mechanic in a different life), sure enough he was right on all counts. I had everything done and then called Germain. Dozens of calls later (the would never call me back) Germain stated the car was "fine" when they sold it. Not. True. Use caution when going here, they are liars and don't stand behind their word. read more

Stay away from this place!!!! I bought a used Jeep from here a couple weeks ago, I love the car but the salesmen and managers are completely AWFUL. Don't ever expect them to return your phone calls/messages/emails once you have purchased the vehicle. I traded in a different vehicle for this new one and the dealership was supposed to take care of the payoff on my old car. After almost a month the company finally receives the check and it's not even the right amount!! I have tried everything!!! Calling, leaving messages, emails, and NOTHING! No one returns a phone call and this is becoming a serious problem that will effect my credit in the future If not resolved. Absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the financial manager verbally told me that my interest rate would be a certain number and come to find out after the paperwork was signed he completely lied to me and it is more that what he told me! I was very disappointed in my dealings with Germain Honda. I was looking to trade in a mid-sized SUV and was looking at a number of vehicles in that category (Honda, Ford, Chevrolet etc). There were a few good things about Germain Honda. When I test drove the CRV, I liked it a lot. Smooth ride, good handling, and limited outside noise. They were also very fair on a trade offer. On the down side, it was as if I could never get in to see the person I was dealing with. When another salesperson helped me, it was disjointed. I write that because when I made a counter offer (I was ready to buy) on the CRV I was interested in, the salesperson (whom I had just met; not his fault) seemed disinterested and when the sales manager came out, he immediately said, "we are talking about the wrong car." And we were not very far apart. In any case, I went next door and bought a really nice Ford Escape with which I am very pleased. And, of course, when my wife is ready to trade in her car (next six months I am guessing), Germain Honda will likely be on the list of places to stop. read more

Don't buy a car here, especially if you are a woman. The sales department is dishonest and uses intimidation tactics. The only reason I bought my used car there is because it was the car I wanted. There was a weird delay tactic with the financing department, which I suspect was so that I wouldn't fully read the documents before signing. It backfired. I did end up getting a good financing deal, but it took a lot to get that. Unfortunately, the delay tactic did help them in that I didn't ask nearly enough questions about the warranty I purchased. I didn't even receive the warranty information. I had to contact the warranty company to get that, only to discover that the warranty coverage was horribly misrepresented. The real kicker: the night I went into to finalize the sale, I was informed by the backup salesperson that there was only one key. I said I needed a second key. There was a whole weird scenario where the salesperson supposedly called the parts department and was told they would have to order the key. I thought this was weird, but it didn't concern me. When I called the parts department the following week about the key, the guy was completely puzzled and told me they always have the key I needed in stock. The salesperson refused to provide me with a second key. The reasoning was that they made very little on the sale because I discovered a problem with the sunroof during a test drive, which had to be replaced. Uh, not my fault! I went to White Allen Honda for a replacement key. It cost me just under $100, which means Germain's cost was probably next to nothing. During the "negotiations," I actually heard the phrases "it's only money," and "you deserve this car," among others. It was like a bad movie. After my experience I spoke with a lot of people who have also had horrendous experiences there, with mixed reviews for the service department. I go to White Allen for my service needs, even though it is less convenient. I refuse to give Germain another penny. I also plan on filing a complaint with Honda USA. This is a big sales area for Honda and they need to know how folks are being treated. read more
