Honestly, really fun, good food for being a fast-casual restaurant. Serving sizes are huge for sure--the sandwich looks small but will leave you full! Was freezing outside, so I quickly jumped in here to warm up. Saw on the value menu, they had a crispy doner roll for like 5 bucks, and I said dang, in NYC? All right I'll bite. Pretty disappointing experience, especially when considering that a fast food meal for one cost over $20. Got the Original GDK. Flavor was fine but proportions and assembly were completely off. I get that some people think "more is better," but shoving more filling into a bread pocket than will fit is not better. I remember once hearing a chef explain that with a sandwich, not only flavor matters, but the ability to assemble it in a way that it can actually be eaten. That was a big missing piece here. As served, the filling will end up more on your tray and all over your hands than in your mouth. Also disproportionate is the small amount of sauce that comes with an order (you have to pay for more). It appears to be a bit shy of a tablespoon. OH and the ketchup is some generic stuff - not a German ketchup and not Heinz. In terms of the restaurant itself, there is no condiment bar, so if you want ketchup, a napkin, or utensils you have to go back to the counter and request them. In my case, that meant standing there for some time while the staff was goofing off toward the back of the store. I wound up just reaching behind the counter around to the grill area where I saw napkins and getting them myself. Glad to have tried it, would not return. read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday with my friends. It wasn't super busy when we first arrived but got busy shortly after. The restaurant was clean and the staff were super friendly. My favorite was the rice bowl - the beef and chicken combo was soo delicious. I feel like it's a healthier version of halal, but still very flavorful and a good portion size. The garlic cheese bread was also really good but make sure you eat it fresh or heat it up, and then also ask for the white sauce on the side to dip it - changes the game completely. Prior to going to a comedy show at MSG, we decided to grab a quick bite. We were craving doner, and this was the closest place in proximity to MSG, so we decided to give this place a try! Sadly, the experience was disappointing! The food was underwhelming. Seating was limited as the space inside is tiny. The doner kebab lacked seasoning and was bland, and they took forever to have our food ready. Service was extremely slow, even with 3 people in the kitchen. As you might be able to tell from the pictures I took, the color of the meat was lacking, and that's exactly how it tasted, quite awful! Save your money, and go somewhere else. We randomly walked past the store & was so surprised to find out there was a franchise store opened near Bryant Park. Came here on a Saturday afternoon to try this spot out. This place does not use AC for whatever reason. I'm just gonna assume the business cheaped out on it and decided blowing hot air around with fans is good enough. So probably would not recommend dining in unless you don't mind sweating. Ordering is done via the kiosks. If you try to order with one of the staff members, they give you an attitude. Probably one of those, this wasn't in the job description and I'm not paid enough to do this, kind of attitude. I ordered several things with a friends to try and overall I probably would pass on this spot. There were a few highlights, but they need to figure it out again. We split a Doner Rice Bowl ($14) mixed (beef and chicken) with mix sauce (both hot sauce and white sauce). We found this to be too salty/very high in sodium, so we ended up not finishing this. I found myself running to the fountain to drink several cups of water from the dehydration. Seriously need to revisit how much salt you're putting into the food. The Chicken Empanada and Beef Empanada ($3.50) were pretty decent. One of them was on the burnt side however. I've tried all of the variations of the waffle bread and would not recommend any of them. Chocolate Waffle Bread ($4) has chocolate sauce slapped between two waffle bread. The Grilled Cheese ($4) they just take the melted cheese sauce and slap it between the two waffle bread. The Garlic Bread ($4) is the same concept, but with Garlic Sauce instead. This was probably the best tasting of the three, but not by much. read more

This global fast casual chain has opened a new location and this time it's in midtown Manhattan near Penn Station. I am a fan of their Astoria location and have tried many items on their menu. On my way home the other day, I decided to make a quick stop to check out this spot. The space is much smaller, but the décor and layout is similar to the one in Astoria. There are two kiosks by the entrance which were running so slowly that most people abandoned them and ordered at the counter instead. I do really like the open kitchen concept that they have here, which allows you to see the food being prepared. I ordered the Doner Quesadilla Meal with mixed meat, garlic sauce and curry fries ($13.49). The quesadillas consisted of kebab meat, jalapeños, onions, and sauce that was sandwiched between two thin toasted waffle bread. This was probably the thinnest quesadilla I've ever seen and was surprised by how stingy they were with the kebab meat. It was so thin, it felt like I was mostly eating bread BUT the small amount of meat that was in there was tasty, and it tasted very good dipped in the small side of garlic sauce. The sauce was garlicky and paired well with the fries and for dipping the quesadillas in. Surprisingly, even though the quesadilla had disappointingly little meat, the meal itself was very filling and tasty. The curry fires was really good. It had crunchy outside and soft inside. The curry flavor was light but enough to make it interesting. I really like their kebab meat and wouldn't be opposed to trying some other item on their menu. If I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I might try them once more but most likely will just go to the Astoria location. read more

Man I wish this restaurant was in my state. I tried it out by accident the first time and only bought a junior size at high price but it tasted so good. Outstadning meat, outstanding concept, clean food, welcoming enviroment (so good I wish I had time to sit down inside the place) pricy but worth every bite. Texture, flavor, seasoning and type of meat offered all grade A. The second time i visited the city I ate here again and once again bought a larger size.
