We were doubtful, but lo and behold, we found the exact sketching set that we wanted. The service was ok. We did get some basic help when we asked, but the person whom we paid to was a tad surly.

Ah yes, kitschy Bavarian gifts!…read more Typically I am quite opposed to gift shops, but this one has a special twist. Nary a drindl or stein, nor mention of any type of beers. It's offbeat. It's colorful. It's not the standard touristy crappola...and your people at home might appreciate that. Surely everything resembles the stereotypical souveniers....but cooler. Mousepads, glockenspiels, racks of fake antlers, sausage sets (fake, obviously), magnets, funny tees (especially for kids), aprons, and the list goes on. Looking for something to truly surprise your significant family, friends, or other...without hauling a stein or shipping some beer? This is your place. Interesting books and paper, cards, stationary and postcards. Including a few guide books on interesting places to check out in the city... A tourist stop surely, but a cute one that stands apart from the rest. I'll be back before I make the voyage home!

That was some 10 years ago. I'm thankful that the business is still going strong and I can count on placing another order for the items I will need. The quality and thickness of the felt I use is outstanding and perfect to use in 1:12th scale. Thank you, Johanna Daimer! I think this time around a trip to Munchen might be warranted. :)

I got some beautiful, unique pieces for home and a few gifts abs they were wrapped with great care by the friendly woman inside who spoke excellent English. Loved it! A bit pricey but not awful compared to other shops I've seen. Location is just as you encounter the old town hall in Marienplatz.
