A very friendly smoke shop in Mission Beach. Chill atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable. They sell cigars, stickers, smoking paraphernalia. It's a small shop but huge selections. The person who was working at the moment was very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a bubbler for a decent price. He was patient with me. Took his time to explain how each of the bubblers work and he even recommended some to me that I might like. I ended up buying one of his recommendations. Store Policy: Buy a piece (bong, pipe, bubbler). Name it. Go back and let them know what you named your piece and get a free gift :) read more

The people here are really helpful. They really know their stuff. I usually only get hookah tobacco here, but they have some beautiful pieces. They give pretty good advice, and service is good. They have a good selection of hookah tobacco by several different brands, including Starbuzz, Fumari, and the more generic brands. They will tell you Fumari is the best, and I would definitely agree. It can get a bit pricey though, so you can get one of the cheaper ones and mix them. I would recommend against the sour apple Starbuzz. I am not a fan. It's extremely green, which turns me off for some reason, and tastes rather artificial. They remodeled the whole place recently and it looks great. Apparently they also divided the original store into two and are opening up a burger joint in the new half of the store. I am looking forward to the results. read more

I don't smoke often enough to visit a smoke shop....I don't even know what to look for in a smoke shop so the four stars are four the customer service we received from Johnathan. He is amazing and can read your energy! He is very accurate so if you are heading to a smoke shop, do yourself a favor and come here! Aside from all of that, this place is very close to the beach(about 2 blocks or so) and is small. I stopped by because my friend wanted to get a cigar. This place is the bomb.com! Not only is it in a great location but the prices and the staff are on point. Seriously, there is no shortage of smoke shops in the area but the folks that work here really care about their jobs and their products. I'm happy to say that every time I go in I learn something new about their artists and product in store. Even though this smoke shop is a bit of a drive for me, I've become a regular customer because of the excellent service. I feel like the staff genuinely cares about how satisfied you are with your purchase and they're stoked on the products they carry. It's nothing like the shady little stores on El Cajon run by shifty eyed weirdos. Since my first review, I purchased an amazing HiSi bowl piece (with 9 holes, woohoo!) and a nice bag to protect my piece. I was impressed with the variety of glassware: there's a wide variety of sizes, percs, and styles. Lots of unique things, too. I am updating my review as I have gotten to know the shop keepers a bit better. I originally posted about faulty pens and my frustration with them being held in such large stock. I have since learned that it's no fault of the employees, but more so the neglect of the shop owner. You will get great service when shopping here, but there are times when they are low on stock, because the owner isn't great with maintaining their inventory and doesn't seemed bothered with quality checks. read more

I worked here for a little over a year or so in 1975 - 76 when I was going to college. "Sliders" was then a laundramat, and "Harry's Market" was across the street, and a Jack in the Box was on the corner. The logo for the store back then was the "Zig-Zag man" and we referred to these places as head shops, not smoke shops. I think we may have been among the first store of any kind to have anti-theft security tags that would make an alarm go off if you left the shop with a T-shirt under your clothes. I recall at least three times when I chased after shoplifters who had set off the alarm and ran out the store (I was much faster then, and dumber, too!). "Superstones" were $1.25 then ($1.59 after tax), and I really hated waiting on stoned customers who would feel the need to examine every single one of the things before they could make a decision on which was the perfect one to buy. In my head movies, I'd be thinking, "It's just a stoopid roach holder, ferchristsakes," (but I never said that out loud). Shirley and Spencer Wold were the owners, and great people to work for. Glad to see the place is still serving Mission Beach and the surrounding communities and great to read the positive reviews. It's says est. 1969 but I don't see y besides the painting on the roof which is awesome... but wat made it a bad experience was the customer service the employe was rude and everything was over priced so I thought he would b willing to work out deals but was not budging on anything and was really rude about it ask him questions about products and was not knowledgeable about anything I asked about... Was at Mission Beach for a short vacation and saw this place while walking around. Am I sure glad I did!! Jonathan is awesome and took the time to explain and recommend some products for us. We visited this smoke shop for the first time summer of 2015 on our yearly trip to Mission Beach. We stepped in just to check out the selection and I walked out with a Pretty hello kitty pipe. We came back this last summer (2016) to mission beach and stepped in again. My boyfriend and I both ended up buying some very beautiful water pipes. Jonathan is very knowledgeable. He spent two hours with us going over the product and helping us make the best decision possible for us. He's got wonderful customer service skills and we really value his input and honesty about the product. This shop is one of a kind. It's the oldest standing shop in all of San Diego and has some of the most beautiful glass around. They have a little something for every type of smoker no matter your age. The staff is awesome and know how to work with you to find you exactly what you are looking for. Some might think the prices are slightly high, but honestly you get what you pay for here. They have an insane collection of 3D glass along with glycerin coil water pipes and just about anything else you can imagine. If you come back and tell them what you named what you purchased, they always throw in a little something for free. Definitely a must see shop even if you just want to browse. read more

Okay awesome smoke shop first of all. great service. but just a little question lol...my friends and I went to this smoke shop and the guy working was awesome. when we got home i was telling a friend about him and the smoke shop and i explained he was black. a chill tall black guy with dreads and my friends said he was white. just really tan. i coulda sworn maybe he was half but they swore the opposite lol. really stupid and random but if anyone has seen this guy what do you think? i just feel like i might be crazy! haha thank you read more
