I love Getaway Cabins!!! Hiking in hocking hills is that much better when you can relax at the end of the day in a cabin with heating, ac, full kitchen, grill, fire pit and ...did i mention hot tub, yet? My husband, dog and I have enjoyed the peaceful tranquility of several cabins, our last trip being in Nov 2022. The contactless check-in was easy. Firewood was readily available to purchase. And the location to several hiking trails is great!!!

Stayed in cabin 22 Homestead. Very clean, pet friendly with private hot tub. Third stay with this company and always very clean and cozy. Mattress very comfortable. I would suggest bringing a few blankets for couch time. Only negative was the outside chairs

The trip to Getaway Cabins (#44 Endless Weekend) was a god damn dream. I've read a lot of reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor and was surprised people think camping in a cabin in the FOREST wouldn't be like staying in a Hilton. Either way, the cabin was perfect. All the amenities needed were available (except cell service to listen to Spotify which was poor planning on my part). I can't wait to go back. My photos are from cabin #44 called Endless Weekend.

Wonderful stay for a 50th birthday trip! Adorable and cozy cabin, clean and neat, easy check in and out, incredibly quiet. The hot tub was needed after a day of hiking. Plenty of channels on DirectTV. We grilled steaks on the deck and enjoyed a bonfire in the fire pit! Stayed in Hummingbird #21 and will be back! I was worried after reading some of the negative reviews. But nothing to worry about! We loved the area, the distance between the cabins was perfect, lots of privacy and quiet. Super clean and personal touches were appreciated (note from housekeeping, guestbook, reminder notes and very clear directions about location and check out process). I'm a picky traveler and was so pleased with the whole experience!

We have stayed with Getaway Cabins three times now and were very content with our stays the first two times. The third time simply did not measure up. The basic cleaning appeared to have been done, but the cabin really needed a good, thorough cleaning and some repairs. The dust was absolutely horrible and you could tell the corners and crevices in the rooms had not been touched in quite some time. A used bar of soap was left in the shower. There were mouse droppings under the kitchen sink. I don't think the windows had ever been cleaned. I expect some dust and grime and also know there is a strong possibility for critters, as you are out in the middle of the woods, but you could tell these things were just neglected for quite some time. The bathroom sink was slow draining, the front steps really needed repairs, there was a gap between boards in the loft, one of the windows had no screen... During our first two two visits, the kitchens were more than stocked with things we brought and didn't need but this visit, not so much. We do understand that with the state of the world right now, many businesses are short staffed, which could very well be why our third stay with them just was not the same... However, at the same time, when people are spending their hard earned money for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, they should be able to to just that... relax and enjoy it. NOTE TO PET PARENTS: This company has several cabins in which they allow pets, which is a huge plus for us. We took ours out when we first arrived only find that previous guests had NOT cleaned up after theirs. Please clean up after your pet, so that you do not ruin a good thing for those of us who do!

We stayed in Camelot over the past weekend. Gorgeous cabin that's not so easy to find! But if you can find it, it's worth it. Just make sure you print out any directions you may need from the cabin to wherever. There is no cell service which means no navigation. Very easy to get lost! Do NOT follow the directions that are printed in the cabin book- they are not correct! Following those directions got us lost several times. Otherwise, the cabin was very clean and had great amenities: hot tub, open glass shower, spiral staircase to lofted bedroom, nice deck with grill, any kitchen items you may need. Great little weekend getaway! 5 star cabin, 4 star for location and incorrect directions.

I have mixed feelings about our stay at Getaway Cabins. The booking process was very easy. I found Getaway Cabins on Facebook and used their reviews to determine with cabin to book (some definitely have better reviews than others). Before I booked I called to ask if a military discount was offered and they said it was, it also indicates on their website that they offer it. So I went ahead and booked a cabin for a Friday and Saturday. Check in went smoothly. They provide maps to local attractions as well as to the closest grocery store. They also have a large selection of dvds in their office that you can borrow. When we got to our cabin, we stayed at #5 The Shawnee, they had put corn out so we were greeted by several deer. The cabin, although relatively small, was a good size for two people plus a dog. The cabin we stayed at was very close to Cedar Falls and Old Mans Cave! Only a quick drive away. We actually walked to Cedar Falls, which I wouldn't recommend since the roads are curvy and there's no sidewalk, but it's only a mile away. As soon as we got to the cabin however, I got an email saying that they couldn't honor a military discount because we already had a winter rate discount. These cabins are not cheap... we ended up paying $240 a night for a small cabin, even though it's advertised as $197 a night on their website because they hit you with taxes. You can definitely find cheaper and nicer places to stay in Hocking Hills. We enjoyed the hot tub, it was huge! We only ever ended up uncovering half of it because we simply didn't need the other half. It could have easily fit 6-8 people. That was really the only thing we enjoyed however. We didn't pick up any dvds from the office because we were told the cabin had direct tv. Big mistake. We couldn't get the tv to hold a single channel without losing signal. Granted it was raining the whole weekend, but a heads up would have been nice. Especially since their office is closed on Saturday's and we couldn't go get dvds. Other problems we had - no hot water in the shower or kitchen sink to wash dishes, there's no dish washer. The grill was extremely hard to light, it needs a new ignition switch, we ended up having to use a lighter. Also, the stovetop didn't work, we were only able to get one burner to work. Overall there were a ton of small problems that ate away at our relaxing vacation away from everything. Certainly this place was not worth the price we paid. Overall if you're looking for a place to stay in Hocking Hills I recommend you do your research to really find a place that's worth the price you'll pay.

Super disappointed. This is our third stay. Today we are in cabin 45. We walked in and the bathroom was a disaster. Part of the tub is damaged, there is black mold, green mold, and lots of Mildred all over the shower and tub area. Looks like it hasn't been clean in months. Tried to call someone and of course since it's after hours there is no one available to call us back. We don't even want to stay the nice because of the health hazard but we have no other place to stay. Update: we have attempted multiple times to have a conversation with the owner who says it's "brown grout". It's not and you can tell in the pictures. I wouldn't recommend staying with this company.

The bed sagging with nobody on it.

My wife and I just got back from a stay with Getaway and if I could give them zero stars, I would. We left after only two of the three nights we had booked. The bathroom was dirty, with black mold growing on the ceiling and walls. The bed was broken so much that when you were in it, the box springs touched the floor. And the hot tub had only one of four sets of jets working. I tried calling the office to get some help, but they were closed. I then tried the "emergency maintenance" number. That went to voice mail, so I left a message, but I never got a call back. This was the fourth time we've stayed with this company and I feel like they could not care less. The night that we didn't use the cabin was refunded (the absolute least they should have done), but they made no attempt to make up for the other major issues (you rent a cabin to have a nice place to sleep, and we certainly didn't receive our money's worth). The worst part is the "customer service" we received. The women I talked to on the phone weren't allowed to make any decisions regarding a refund or even compensation. They had to run everything past the owner. When I asked if I could talk to the owner they made some generic excuse that he's not in the office often. When I asked if they could put a note on his desk for him to call, I was told they couldn't do that! Are you kidding!?! I feel so unappreciated and used. If you decide to stay with them, I hope everything is perfect, because if it's not, they aren't going to do anything to help you. P.S. In looking at the other negative reviews that getaway has responded to, instead of trying to help fix the problem they'll probably blame me or call me a liar.

    How much for two days?

Every cabin and day has a different rate. Weekends are two-day minimums, week days are cheaper than weekend rates. But two people can easy go for a 2-3 day trip for under $350, which is cheaper than many hotels.

We used the microwave to make instant pasta and oatmeal so it worked fine and the bowls were microwave safe. The bed was made with fresh linens and a blanket with a spare blanket in the dresser. There was a ceiling fan, but lighting was lamps or wall mounted. No wifi, but good cell signal plus the tv had a vcr and dvd player though we didn't try it. The back wall was of glass windows and a sliding door with a screen door. Sadly no curtains, so sunrise woke us often, be sure to pack eye masks. The hot tub was running on arrival and easily adjustable with jets and lighting optional. The cover balcony patio had not only the hot tub, but seating and hooks to hang towls from. We saw deer and hummingbirds while looking out into the forest. It was very peaceful. Booking was over the phone and a receipt was left by the cabin key.

This ended up being the perfect spot. High Rock Hideaways is centrally located in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio and is super close to a lot of Hocking Hills State Park's best attractions! We ended up staying in the Yesteryear Cabin on the property and it was the perfect size for two people. (See photos below) My favorite part about this cabin was the wraparound porch and the hot tub in the back. Though we didn't get to use the porch as much as I would have liked because it was super cold outside, the view was still great through the sliding glass doors. I was a bit nervous about bed bugs from reading the past reviews, but we checked the bed before sleeping on it the first night and it was squeaky clean! No problems there. One of the best parts of this cabin was actually the grounds that it is located on! It's easy to overlook the High Rock trails for the ones in the state park, but this is a HUGE mistake. We almost skipped out on them and I'm so glad we didn't! The trails snake over the few acres of land that is the High Rock property and are basically deserted except for a few deer running around. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere with no one around for miles. It was awesome! I cannot wait to visit here again and try out the other cabins in the future. If you're looking for a quick weekend getaway in Hocking Hills, this is the spot! Pro-Tip: No matter how tired you are from hiking the Hocking Hills State Park trails, don't neglect to try the trails on the High Rock property! You won't regret it!

Mixed Experience at Hemlock Treehouse - Stunning but Poorly Prepared for Winter…read more Hemlock Treehouse is a beautiful and unique getaway, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by poor winter preparedness and unexpected costs. While the treehouse itself was stunning, safety concerns made our stay challenging. There were no railings by the hot tub, which caused me to lose balance and fall--especially concerning in icy conditions. I slipped again on the untreated driveway the following day, as no salt had been put down. Despite reaching out multiple times with concerns about the weather, we were not allowed to cancel or reschedule. Despite our warnings, it was disappointing that no effort was made to prepare the property for winter conditions. Additionally, the pricing structure felt misleading. Beyond the daily rate, we were charged at least $200 in additional fees, including cleaning charges and insurance, despite leaving the space clean and causing no damage. We also incurred nearly $100 in taxes, bringing our one-night stay to around $850. There was no mention of a deposit beforehand, so I strongly recommend clarifying all fees before booking. Another concern was the lack of attention to detail. Upon arrival, we found a welcome sign with someone else's name, initially making us worry that the treehouse had been double-booked--an unsettling experience on our honeymoon. While it was a mistake, it indicated that our arrival had not been adequately prepared for. To add to this, the sheets had a noticeable stain, further diminishing the experience. While the location and ambiance were superb, the lack of winter preparedness and the high costs made for a frustrating experience. If you're considering a stay here in the colder months, be prepared for unsafe conditions and additional expenses. Would I return? Maybe in better weather--but certainly not in winter. Update: yep, I'm pretty sure I broke my elbow. Still hurts the same when pressure is applied to the location of the injury. Off to the doctor to verify after work.

Newer LG appliances (filtered water & ice maker in the fridge was a plus), cool bathroom, cozy oversized chair, great fireplace on rear covered deck and amazing rockers w/cup holders on front and rear porches. Now upon opening the door, the first thing I said was, "WOW! That's a weird smell." Unfortunately, we were smelling sewer smells the entire time we were there. I contacted the email from the site the first night and they responded the next day. While I was in the bathroom tub (shades open) a gentleman put his ladder on the side of the bathroom window and started climbing up, while someone chatted with my husband at the door. Needless to say I was mortified and embarrassed that we weren't initially made aware that someone was coming until after they had arrived. The person climbing the ladder definitely got an eye full.....Anyway, they said the vent pipes weren't removed once the cabins construction was done and the traps may have gotten dry. We heard them sawing something & then they left soon after. We ran water, as instructed after they cut the tops off the pipes and were advised Joey would be back with a top to cover another pipe on the roof. The smell initially got a little better, but within a couple hours it was back full force. We again contacted Rob again, who sent Joey back out to address the issue. This time, he put bleach down the drains, gave a can of fabreeze, a pumpkin candle and 2 renuzit toilet scents. Now, we had been burning candles in all the rooms from the moment we arrived and kept the front & rear doors open to try and air out the smell. NONE of that helped. It even began to stink outside, so no handing out on the front or rear porch unless we needed cell signal. So although the thought was nice, 1 single wick candle, 1 can of fabreeze and some toilet scents were NOT going to cut it. The smell was not as strong after the bleach, but never did go away. In fact, when we ran the dishwasher before leaving, the smell returned full force throughout the cabin, especially in the bathroom and rear porch area. THE SMELL ALONE RUINED OUR ATTEMPTED ROMANTIC GETAWAY. While I appreciate them trying to solve this issue, there wasn't any follow-up to confirm resolution. I had to keep updating Rob. At least Rob did say he was "sorry it's doing what it's doing" regarding the odor. Honestly, I cannot begin to explain to you how utterly disgusting it is to constantly smell sewage inside and in the immediate surrounding exterior of one's "luxury retreat." Not once in the decade plus of coming to HH have we EVER had this happen......we've stayed with MANY companies, but this is a first. Lastly a few things could have been done better. When we arrived, it would have been nice if the front and rear covered decks were swept. There was a lot of dead bugs, leaves & bottle caps from alcohol (ppl before us) laying around on the decks. I swept that up myself, not a deal breaker. There were excessive dead bugs on the living room floor - I also swept up, not a deal breaker we're in the woods. The issue is that it made me question how clean the cabin actually was. Therefore, I took it upon myself to clean the cabin with the products I'd brought to be sure. The hot tub, while up to temp at 102 degrees had brownish grey water and looked filthy. VERY UNINVITING, especially when the pool chemicals were neatly portioned out and could have been dumped into the tub when it was prepped for the next guest. I get that the water may be discolored from minerals, but this was just a dirty hot tub. I make that assumption as when we took off the lid, there wasn't even the faintest hint of chemicals from the water (which one can usually smell when they've been added) upon removal of the lid. Overall, we wanted to love this cabin, but didn't. The constant, horrendous sewer smell was a deal breaker and for the cost, I NEVER EVER expected to have an unresolved odor issue continue

Despite not being able to sleep my two nights there, and constant loud ass humming all throughout, the rest of the experience was solid. The space was comfy, included all the necessities, and they even plowed the driveway after the snow. I love coming here and the Chalets are a great choice. I just might ask about the sound issues on my next visit.

We got there a little after 1:00 pm and they were super busy. The inside was small but there were plenty of seating outside. We didn't mind going out there despite the 30 degree weather. The view of the farm and vineyard was gorgeous to look at even with the snow. Before we went in, we greeted the sheep's in the front entrance. You can't miss the small barn. We stood in line and while we were waiting, we filled out the sheets and picked our 4 tastings. They range from dry, semi sweet and sweet. They also serve slushies and mulled wine. We ordered: Flight of 4 $10.00: -Dry Red- 2022 Free Run Norton -Dry Red- 2023 Marquette -2 Dry White-2023 Seyval Blanc -Dry Red-2022 Norton -Dry Red-Oaked Norton -Dry Red-2023 Alexander -Semi Dry Rose- 2023 Grower's Blush Appetizer: -Classic Charcuterie for two For food, they do have paninis and charcuterie trays. If you order, they give you a buzzer. When it goes off, you pick up your meal outside/food truck. Our favorites were the Alexander red and Seyval Blanc. So good that were purchased bottles to take home and had two glasses of Alexander after we finished our flight. I talked to the owners and they are very friendly and take pride in their wines & their farm. I highly recommend you pay them a visit. We had such a great experience and will definitely come back when in the hocking hills area. Make sure to check their hours because they are only open certain times and days of the week.

It looked very scenic and laid back too so we had to check it out. Glad we did because we really enjoyed it. Excellent wine, very relaxed atmosphere, and tremendous service. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after some hiking. We just wanted a couple wine flights and maybe a charcuterie board since we saw they offer those. It was pretty busy already and we got there right after they opened for the day. Still, it wasn't super cold out, and we found comfortable seating on a porch outside. We started with two flights and a classic charcuterie board. Here are the wines we tried: -Dry Red- 2022 Free Run Norton -Dry Red- 2023 Marquette -Dry White-2023 Seyval Blanc -Dry Red-2022 Norton -Dry Red-Oaked Norton -Dry Red-2023 Alexander -Semi Dry Rose- 2023 Grower's Blush We enjoyed pretty much all the wines, especially the Alexander and the Seyval Blanc. Note that when ordering food, you order at the bar, then they hand you a pager, and you get your food at a food truck nearby when your pager goes off. Our charcuterie board was done pretty quickly and everything was tasty. So much so that we took our time to savor it along with a couple more glasses of wine. They do offer s nice range of wines too, from dry to sweet to all points in between. They also do seasonal wines like mulled wines in winter and wine slushies. Like a certain wine? You can buy a bottle and they offer 10% off if you buy six or more bottles. This is a great little winery and lots to offer. I can tell they're a big hit with locals and travelers alike with how busy they got quickly after opening up. Say hi to the sheep when you get there too!
