I was surprised to see the reviews of this place after eating here on a trip. Our waitress Tiffany was hilarious and very attentive. I am instantly attracted to anything spooky themed, so their billboard instantly drew me in. We're not drinkers, so we appreciated their NA selections. Live music was great and the patio is beautiful. We're told that if you view through the binoculars on the patio, you might catch people peeing in the woods. My beet flatbread was 10/10, fried pickles were delicious and perfectly breaded, and my husband enjoyed his patty melt. We came here with a group of friends on a Sunday after spending the day at the Warren Dunes. More than half of the tables were open, yet they had a hard time figuring out where to seat our group of 11. Others behind us were a bit annoyed with their slow seating as well. I stopped drinking a while back, so I can't attest to their beer selection. Others I was with said that their beers were 'average to slightly above', for what it's worth. The glaring issues here are their prices and food portions. Both are out of touch. A turkey BLT wrap that's sized to feed a toddler shouldn't be $16. They also charge for sides of ranch, etc. I'm okay with a higher price if the food is excellent and the portion sizes warrant it, but neither were the case. The BLT was average. My wife's flatbread was four pieces, half of the size you get at 99.9% of all restaurants. $17 for that was ridiculous. They'd be better off calling this a small 'app'. Honestly, not a fan. Wouldn't recommend or come back. Superior breweries can be found within 20 minutes. read more

The best thing about Ghost Isle Brewery is the deck and the amazing views. We stopped in on a Saturday in October mainly to try their Marzen, which someone had told us was good. We thought we would get an appetizer as well, but they were a bit pricey. The menu in general seemed pricey, so we didn't have any food. Our waitress was attentive enough for our beer needs, but the patrons at some of the tables around us seemed a bit frustrated by how slow their service was. One table got up and left after waiting for about 20 minutes. I don't think we'll stop in for food, but we would come back to have a beer on the deck. Usually a bit understaffed though so service can been a bit spotty. Tried their fried pickle spears (awesome; ask for an extra cup of the ranch) and the Gumbo (big serving, on the soupy side, but very good). Also had a cocktail, The Regatta, which I found to be a welcome change of pace (bourbon + grapefruit juice). Good amount of families with young kids there. read more

Cute little spot. I wanted to try this place for a while and finally made it back to the area. They offer both inside and outside seating. My favorite song of all time is Living on a Prayer. So, of course, I had to try their Livin on a Pear beer. It states it was a sour, but it wasn't that sour. It was tasty, though! I got the chicken caprese sandwich that was flavorful. Bread was nice and soft. Fries were only ok. My fiance got the cottage fries (aka chips) with his sandwich, and those were delicious. Service was friendly. As this is a touristy area, the prices are a little high. I would definitely return. read more

Ok let's start with we came in at 6:50pm on a Sunday and they close at 8pm which I'll get to that time soon on here so we came in and asked for a table for 9 ppl. And they said they couldn't sit us because the had reservations in that area but wait they close at 8pm it's now 7:25 no one else is coming inn!!! But wait they just turn a couple and I think they are racist here wow still till this day to feel like this in a public place a business just a big WOW!!! ‍ so they said they couldn't serve us as a big group for food so wait a min what!!???? So then we asked then will get 2 tables then and they said that the staff had to clean the tables so that makes no sense they just didn't want to service us disrespect and disgusting I feel me and my family that we had to experience this in 2025. So if your of cloro or not white I guess be aware of this place stay away they don't deserve our business I want to give this place -10 starts but I can't. Nice brewery with lots of indoor and outdoor space. It was pretty crowded during the lunch time , so we opted to sit at bar. For most of the time there was only one bartender and he was very busy handling the bar and drinks for the restaurant. Service was slow, it took almost 25 minutes to get our food. I ordered the Beet Salad- it was good, but I had thought it would be more beets than greens. My husband had the firecracker shrimp with ranch dressing. The portion for the shrimp was very generous, but it was $17 for an appetizer. My husband tried the El Fantasma, a Mexican Lager and Stoner's Paradise , an IPA. He enjoyed them both. I had the Nektar Zombie Killer Cider . It was light and refreshing and not too tart. Service was a bit slow, and prices are more than expected, but worth stopping in to try their beers. read more

Full disclosure, I stopped in for an Octoberfest marzen beer only, which was complemented well by the beautiful spread of a view they have off the side deck. The beer was reasonably priced for sure, a quick review of the food items on the menu reflect New Buffalo pricing perhaps. Seating out on the deck seemed to be split into two sections, the rear section was for seated and served dining, the front section was for serve yourself drinking, i.e. get a beer from the bar and take it out on the deck to enjoy. There is plenty of room for everyone, in or out, service was friendly and prompt, and plenty of parking availability. We came in on Saturday (Labor Day weekend) around 2:00 with a party of 4. The place was busy but we were seated fairly quickly. The service was horribly slow. I understand this was a Holiday weekend but being in the service industry, one would think management would staff accordingly. Cam was our waiter and he was quite rude. We ordered appetizers and it took almost 45 minutes to get them. We ordered the pretzels and fried pickle spears. The pretzels were burnt but we just dealt with it. Then we ordered our food. It took another 45 minutes for that to come out. It may have taken longer but we flagged down our waiter to ask about our food and then it finally was served to us. On one of our orders they forgot to add the onions so that took even more time to get to us and when the onions were served to us the runner (little red head guy) he was so rude to us. There was no manager working the floor checking on the patrons. I asked to speak to a manager (Corine) and when she came over to inquire what I needed she was very unconcerned, uncaring about our experience (this was our first and only) and really unprofessional. This is not the first review complaining about how long it takes to get your food or the demeanor of the waitstaff. There are plenty of complaints on yelp, google, and a few on Facebook. So these are long running issues that should be addressed but have yet to be by management. I spent $140 for the meals for 4 and I will never go back to this restaurant again. I also will never recommend this place to anyone I know. There are plenty of breweries in the area. Please look elsewhere for great food, beer, and a friendly staff. This is not the place. So if you get off 94 to go through Harbor Country, please don't be fooled and waste your money at this place. read more

Having been here before I was looking forward to another visit. It is a fabulous facility. We arrived as they were opening at noon along with several other people. Getting a seat at the bar was easy and service was super friendly. Did a beer flight and the wife had a tropical drink called the tiki punch- she said it was amazing and reminded her of a vacation. Beer is a dice roll, you like what you like. We got the train wreck (I think) frites and poutine appetizer. It was just ok, the gravy was a bit bland and the fries seemed like they were baked. This was a fun stop in New Buffalo for a late lunch on a fall Saturday. The place was massive, so we didn't have to wait for a table. However, because it was so large, it felt almost cavernous. The food was pretty good, and large portions. We each ordered a beer and a sandwich and left quite satisfied. The names of some of the sandwiches were really fun. I'd go back if I was in town, though it didn't feel all that distinct from many other local breweries with restaurants that have popped up across the country, so I likely wouldn't seek it out specifically and travel to visit. read more

We ended up at Ghost Isle Brewery because it was one of the few places in the area that offered food past 9pm. We got here a little past 9pm on a Friday night and we sat in the indoor dining area, where there was also a live musician playing. We came back the following evening to get food and beers again, although we sat at the bar this time. Both times that we were here, the service was outstanding and the food was pretty good. The place had a lively and happy atmosphere too. I've tried the following dishes: PORK RINDS- crunchy and spicy, a tad salty though CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS- delicious and filling AMERICAN DREAM(CHEESEBURGER)- the angus beef was delicious but it was a little over cooked THE NUTTY GOAT SALAD- refreshing and tasty ARISTOTLE- the chicken was seasoned and prepared well. We tried the PEACH BUM BLONDE and CRUZIN CANTILEVER BEERS. I really liked the Peach Bum Blonde so I had this on both nights. They had a huge parking lot, big indoor and outdoor areas, good food, great beers, excellent service, clean place, and live music on the weekends as well. The wife and I have been here twice on road trips from Chicago. On both occasions, we enjoyed the beer. Most recently, we had the peach beer. For food, the wife had fish and chips, which was good. I note that the Tartar sauce is delicious. If it's off the Sysco truck, I can't tell. I had the gumbo, which was good, but it wasn't that much of a meal. Next time I will order a side with it. I had the michigan cherry frozen moscow mule and it was delicious. We also got the frozen mudslide and banana colada, also very good. My boyfriend got a beer flight and liked the selection on tap. Sub-par. I'm not a beer drinker, so we'll get that out of the way first. I did how ever have the house cocktail. Tasted like a mock tail and wasn't interested in a second one, however many times I was offered by people who weren't my server. I do recommend the pretzel app but not with the whipped cheese spread. It's not really made for sharing which is weird for an appetizer. A more dip-like cheese would be better or serve the same one in a larger quantity with a knife for serving. This was the saddest excuse for a "Philly Cheese Steak" i've ever had. It was basically an italian beef with lite meat and government cheese. I was coughing so bad on the first bite that a nearby server (not my server) asked if I needed water. My partner got the full rack of dry rub ribs. I understand that they were "dry rub" but these were a sad sack of ribs. Might has well given him a pile of roadkill. The only positive of the night was our waitress Olivia. Great brewery and restaurant in New Buffalo. They have a huge parking lot and plenty of seating. Some outdoor seating overlooking the marsh and spacious indoor seating. Pork rinds and soft pretzels are delicious appetizers for sharing. For drinks I got a beer flight so I could try a variety. The beach bum blonde and standers paradise were a few of my faves. The seltzer didn't have much flavor. My husband got a cocktail because he wasn't in the mood for beer so it's nice they have that option too. I accidentally left my expensive sunglasses there and called back to find them the next day. They saved them in the lost and found items and I couldn't believe it. Honestly, I wish I could give Ghost Isle higher ranks. We had read an article about it being next to a wetland. Unfortunately railroad tracks significantly obstruct the view. We had a group of 7 (all family members) and were split into two tables. Not sure why. The food was all pretty good. I think our biggest disappointment was that the website beer selection did not match reality. And generally things just seemed a bit overpriced. Fairly cool place to grab a beer and a snack. We opted for a couple of pale ales and the 'Sloshy Fries' appetizer (crispy fries, sloshy joe mix, three-cheese house-ale sauce & scallions). I liked the cheese sauce, but thought the 'sloshy' / sloppy joe mix was a bit too sweet. What detracted from our visit here was the service. Our server was 'out of it' -- if you know what I mean -- and didn't appear to have adequate job knowledge. For example, I asked her what came on the 'Fully Loaded Baked Beans' side dish and she did not know. To take that a step further, she didn't even offer to go find out for us (and really, for herself as well since she's a server at this establishment??). Will we return? Went to Ghost Isle Brewery in late December and we found it odd that almost all the food and beers were scratched or blacked off their menu with a sharpie. They had salads, fries, two types of wings, a burger, the kids menu and a few of their beers left. Of the food we did try, it was pretty mediocre. Their burger however was the best, it was very delicious. We later found out, the brewery was closing for two months, which we figured attributed to the small food and drink options. Our server was great, very friendly. When we got there however, no one took our order for a while, although it was pretty empty and we were a large group so you couldn't miss us. Once the server realized this, he quickly reconciled it and even gave us dessert on the house. The brewery is quite large. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. About half of their beers were unavailable. Both of my siblings mentioned the lager tasted like water. I ordered the IPA and it was worth it. Because of our server, I would give the brewery another chance. Hopefully then, they'd have more food and drink options. read more

Not a bad option - went in on a Saturday night, and despite a sign asking for "patience we are short-staffed" the service was pretty good. Menu was decent - nothing flashy but some typical brewery "staples." Beer offerings were ok - I ordered the blonde and it was fair. For my meal I had the nightly special - a lamb chop with potatoes and asparagus. Portion seemed a bit small and presentation wasn't great. My wife enjoyed her salad but had to ask three times for an alternative dressing. I had a banana-cream-pie dessert before leaving. Had a nice visit with my wife and friends on a cool, damp Friday afternoon. Mostly a visit to quaff a few beers and munch on some appetizers. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours. The main dining area is a big, open, high ceiling area but even though it was fairly crowded, it was not too loud so we were able to shoot the breeze with no problem. Appetizers were all yummy. The pretzel sticks were nice and warm with a little bite on the outside and soft on the inside. Dipping in the three cheese sauce was an excellent bite. The fried pickle spears had a great outside crunch and the spicy sauce/aioli made a nice counterpoint to the tart dill. And the spinach-artichoke dip was spot on - thick and cheesy/creamy. We tried a number of the beers on tap. The wheat ale was golden and refreshing. The Marzen had a great amber color with a nice, malty base and was full bodied.
