The best thing about Ghost Isle Brewery is the deck and the amazing views. We stopped in on a Saturday in October mainly to try their Marzen, which someone had told us was good. We thought we would get an appetizer as well, but they were a bit pricey. The menu in general seemed pricey, so we didn't have any food. Our waitress was attentive enough for our beer needs, but the patrons at some of the tables around us seemed a bit frustrated by how slow their service was. One table got up and left after waiting for about 20 minutes. I don't think we'll stop in for food, but we would come back to have a beer on the deck. Part of the deck is for dining, and they have another part that seems to be a self-serve area.

    The Regatta, very good

Ghost Isle has been improving; they've updated their menu and added some good variety. Regular live music and a nice (smallish) outdoor deck are cool. Usually a bit understaffed though so service can been a bit spotty. Tried their fried pickle spears (awesome; ask for an extra cup of the ranch) and the Gumbo (big serving, on the soupy side, but very good). Also had a cocktail, The Regatta, which I found to be a welcome change of pace (bourbon + grapefruit juice). Good amount of families with young kids there.

Food and service were phenomenal! We stopped in for lunch on our way to South Haven for a weekend getaway and sat out on the deck. Everything was absolutely wonderful!

Cute little spot. I wanted to try this place for a while and finally made it back to the area. They offer both inside and outside seating. My favorite song of all time is Living on a Prayer. So, of course, I had to try their Livin on a Pear beer. It states it was a sour, but it wasn't that sour. It was tasty, though! I got the chicken caprese sandwich that was flavorful. Bread was nice and soft. Fries were only ok. My fiance got the cottage fries (aka chips) with his sandwich, and those were delicious. Service was friendly. As this is a touristy area, the prices are a little high. I would definitely return.

This is a really nice place and the staff is friendly. I can't say I loved any of the beer I tried, but I am sure other people do. I would stop in to try some other things.

Ok let's start with we came in at 6:50pm on a Sunday and they close at 8pm which I'll get to that time soon on here so we came in and asked for a table for 9 ppl. And they said they couldn't sit us because the had reservations in that area but wait they close at 8pm it's now 7:25 no one else is coming inn!!! But wait they just turn a couple and I think they are racist here wow still till this day to feel like this in a public place a business just a big WOW!!! ‍ so they said they couldn't serve us as a big group for food so wait a min what!!???? Seriously??? So then we asked then will get 2 tables then and they said that the staff had to clean the tables so that makes no sense they just didn't want to service us disrespect and disgusting I feel me and my family that we had to experience this in 2025. So if your of cloro or not white I guess be aware of this place stay away they don't deserve our business I want to give this place -10 starts but I can't. I hope they find GOD one day I swear no one should experience anything like this ever. We are all human we bleed the same color.

Nice brewery with lots of indoor and outdoor space. It was pretty crowded during the lunch time , so we opted to sit at bar. For most of the time there was only one bartender and he was very busy handling the bar and drinks for the restaurant. Service was slow, it took almost 25 minutes to get our food. I ordered the Beet Salad- it was good, but I had thought it would be more beets than greens. My husband had the firecracker shrimp with ranch dressing. The portion for the shrimp was very generous, but it was $17 for an appetizer. My husband tried the El Fantasma, a Mexican Lager and Stoner's Paradise , an IPA. He enjoyed them both. I had the Nektar Zombie Killer Cider . It was light and refreshing and not too tart. Service was a bit slow, and prices are more than expected, but worth stopping in to try their beers.

Full disclosure, I stopped in for an Octoberfest marzen beer only, which was complemented well by the beautiful spread of a view they have off the side deck. The beer was reasonably priced for sure, a quick review of the food items on the menu reflect New Buffalo pricing perhaps. Seating out on the deck seemed to be split into two sections, the rear section was for seated and served dining, the front section was for serve yourself drinking, i.e. get a beer from the bar and take it out on the deck to enjoy. There is plenty of room for everyone, in or out, service was friendly and prompt, and plenty of parking availability. I did spy remnants of another parties meals on a table as I passed by and the pretzel appetizer is massive, no lie, there was more than half of it left! Lol! Prost!

Driving down the road decided to stop in, and this place definitely did not disappoint. The he shrimp we ordered was so fresh and hot and our waiter helped with recommendations.

Stopped in during our brewery/winery tour of SW Michigan - I ordered a frozen cherry mule, and my friend ordered a frozen grasshopper. S/O ordered a beer flight. Frozen drinks were absolutely delicious and refreshing, and I would order again. Beware - there are chunks of cherries and gummy ginger candy in the mule. S/O liked the beer flight ‍ Service was decent for how busy they were. We will be back on our next excursion to New Buffalo!

Having been here before I was looking forward to another visit. It is a fabulous facility. We arrived as they were opening at noon along with several other people. Getting a seat at the bar was easy and service was super friendly. Did a beer flight and the wife had a tropical drink called the tiki punch- she said it was amazing and reminded her of a vacation. Beer is a dice roll, you like what you like. We got the train wreck (I think) frites and poutine appetizer. It was just ok, the gravy was a bit bland and the fries seemed like they were baked. I also had the Cuban missile sandwich that I as just ok at best. Not enough mustard or flavor in general. And the fries were just eh. Overall just an ok visit but super cool facility

Ask the Community - Ghost Isle Brewery

    Are Dogs allowed?

No. I asked myself when I visited four days ago. That's why I didn't stay long. It was cool and overcast, so my dog stayed in the car with the windows down.

    Can you bring kids?

Yes, families are most welcome. Yard games, too.

We grabbed a beer and a glass of wine at the bar while we waited. The atmosphere is one of my favorite things about this restaurant. It's open, welcoming, and full of personality. I loved all of the dog photos throughout the restaurant and their "Sit. Stay. Eat!" theme, it gives the place such a fun, relaxed vibe. The menu is awesome, I honestly had a hard time deciding because everything sounded so good. We started with the truffle fries and they were incredible. For my entrée, I chose the grilled red snapper tacos, they were delicious. The fresh pineapple salsa paired perfectly with the fish, and I especially loved the pickled red cabbage on top. The snapper was grilled perfect. My husband and daughter shared the grilled shrimp po'boy which turned out to be a great decision because it's a generous-sized sandwich. They both liked the Cajun remoulade sauce and the soft telera roll it was served on. They also ordered a side of onion rings. My son enjoyed the cheeseburger from the kids menu. Our server was friendly and attentive. The Stray Dog has great food, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service. It's easy to see why it's such a popular spot. We will definitely be back the next time we're in New Buffalo!

We ordered the Elote Pizza, and overall it was really good. It had a nice wood-fired crust that was probably the highlight of the meal. The only downside was that it came with a garlic aioli that was very heavy...there was so much on the pizza that it overpowered some of the other flavors. I think it would have been even better with a lighter hand. For drinks, I had one of their sour beers and my husband ordered an IPA. Both were good, but neither really stood out as anything particularly memorable. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and took good care of us. The layout of the brewery was a little unexpected. We walked into the main entrance, then the host brought us back outside and over to a separate building where the bar is located. It was a little confusing at first, but it ended up being a neat setup. The restaurant was clean, with a spacious dining room and a nice-looking patio. The only thing that kept this from being a higher rating was the value. It felt a little expensive for what we ordered, and while everything was solid, nothing really wowed us. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in, especially as a place to escape the heat for a while. If you're in the area and looking for a casual meal and a local beer, it's worth checking out...I just wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit again.

We're from the Grand Rapids area, so it was a bit of a trek being about an hour and a half away. GR has plenty of karaoke options in the surrounding area and a ton of breweries - none that I'm aware of mix the two, nor have anything as unique as this. Seeing as it was our first time here, we didn't know what to expect. It was pretty packed, actually pretty hard to find seating. Thankfully, we were eventually able to get a spot near the stage. One thing to note is that they don't serve food; however there's usually a food truck onsite, so that's nice, if you happen to like the type of food on that particular day. The place was pretty packed, of course it was a Saturday, so wasn't a big surprise. Unfortunately, a few of the adult beverages were unavailable, apparently due to the 10-year anniversary the day before. I first tried the dark bodega Mexican lager, it was good, but not really what I was in the mood for. So, I decided to try something a little different, I'm glad I did. I went with the peanut butter & jelly ale, wow, I was really impressed! I ended up sticking to the PB&J's for the rest of the night. A couple of others in my party, who normally don't like ales, tried the PB&j and thought it was great. All in all, it was a great experience. The karaoke was a blast, some absolutely incredible singers. And I've never seen a crowd so engaged, the place was full of energy, so I'm sure that added to the overall positive experience. If Watermark wasn't so far away, it would definitely be a regular visit for us. We missed the last crowd elimination karaoke event in June, but are planning to make a return trip for the next one in July!
