I believe their sales guy Greg did our job on the slide. He was doing a large job across the street and slipped mine in for cash. I believe he charged the other customer for my concrete and pocketed the cash. Both jobs look horrible. I've tried to get them to come repair the huge crack, and they keep blowing me off. Horrible company. First they delayed our project for a month and than they left our backyard a mess! There is dirt everywhere and mud. They were supposed to come back and backfill but they never came back and I heard this is something they do often. I was told they would charge me more to fix what they did to the backyard! WHO DOES THAT??? The ground is so uneven my 2 year old son has fallen a few times. My house is dirty because every time my son comes in or the dog there is mud all over their shoes I just want my lawn fixed and they wont help without charging me more. Signed a contract for a job months before it's commencement. Delayed the job two months after permits were issued and commencement ordered. Hardly ever return phone calls, unresponsive to text, unresponsive to emails, left us totally holding the bag, and cost us thousands and thousands of dollars in delays. We were more than patient, more than understanding, tried to work with them and understand their scheduling issues, and they still left us high and dry. If anyone's considering using this company, I would think 12 times before doing so. I hired Peter Giancola and Sons to replace my driveway and sidewalks and repair my front steps, the concrete around the stone was cracked and crumbling. After saying it would be done the last week of April, the work wasn't done until the last week of June and finished on July first. During that time, I had to call Greg Costa, the owner of the company, several times to find out when the work would be done. He never called me to let me know that they were behind schedule or when they would show up to do the work. This company caused several thousand dollars' worth of damage to my landscaping, garage and lawn. My and my neighbor's lawn need topsoil and reseeding. There are pieces of concrete all over the edge of the lawn as well as a coffee cup lid in the soil where there should be grass. Giancola just threw some seed down when they were done with the job. Two mature plants were destroyed. One of the plantings was part of a hedge so now the whole hedge needs to be replaced. Edging is missing as well as landscape fabric, topsoil and decorative stone. There are areas where there are piles of river rock under the landscape fabric. Stakes and pieces of edging were left in the landscaping. There are concrete footprints on the stones. The trim on the outside of my garage and the trim around the doors need to be replaced. It is bent and torn. There is concrete on my garage siding. The part of the driveway between the sidewalk and the street was not replaced. Greg Costa never said that it wouldn't be replaced. It's part of the driveway! They damaged that as well and "patched" it. I told him it was unacceptable, that the patch job would crack and it has. They had to come back to fix the front steps and the concrete they used was dirty, for lack of a better word. That was never done right or finished. The concrete that was removed was tossed in my landscaping. After numerous phone calls to Greg Costa and promises to make everything right nothing has been done. It has been three months! It is very upsetting to walk out of my home and see the damage they have done to my property. Now I am paying to have everything repaired and replaced. I am also filing a complaint with the NJ State licensing board and the BBB. read more
