I live near The District and have walked past this salon countless times but haven't visited before. This weekend, I came in for a 90-minute facial and let me tell ya - it was 90 minutes of bliss and relaxation! My skin feels great and all of the products the esthetician used on me felt refreshing. It had been a few years since I had any kind of professional skin care and I enjoyed this so much I plan on making it a regular thing. The front desk staff were helpful and there are several Aveda products for sale in the lobby. The salon is very centrally located with close freeway access and lots of parking, there are several shops and restaurants right outside the salon doors so plan to make a day of it. read more

Worst experience I've had. The stylist completely ruined my hair. I wholeheartedly regret getting my hair done here. I came in for a quick root touch up - just a little refresher - nothing crazy. The stylist said she was going to include a few low lights and proceeded to darken my hair giving me a two inch root. The stylist then ran out of time and after 5 1/2 hours I had to walk out with wet hair, no cut and looking worse than before. The manager then offered me to get the color fixed a few days later, which I did and it just made it worse. Because the root was so dark, the blond now looks yellow. It looks horrifying and I look complete unrecognizable. I had an important work meeting coming up, and now I have to walk around looking like a cheap Barbie. Worst experience I've ever had. My hair is ruined. Not even a refund would make this ok. read more

Do not come here unless you want your hair ruined! I came in with virgin natural dark brown hair and all I wanted was a head of highlights that were more on the ashy/brown side. I ended up leaving with chunks of golden toned highlights. I went back for a fix and they toned it brown so I was mostly almost back to my natural. Went in AGAIN for an actual fix instead of just being toned.... went to a different person and it ended up being just like the first time, but MORE. I ended up having to just dye my hair all back to brown. Such a waste of money and time & unfortunately ruined my hair health. Had to spend so much money on products to help my hair. So upsetting, I wouldn't recommend to anyone. :( SAD!!!! read more

I had scheduled an appointment for Friday at 3:30 to get the blushing lips with Destiny. I asked her if we could move my appointment up, and she was willing to. She said she was getting the paperwork ready so when I get back there, I'm filling out the paperwork and I noticed the price was increased on the paperwork to $425. The day I set up the appointment with her she told me the price was $350. While I was filling out the paperwork I mentioned to her there was a change in the price and she says yeah that's what the price is and I said you told me it would be 350. She turns around and said did I say that I said yes she did say that then she proceeded to say it starts at $350. Girl, you did not say that you said it would cost me 350. If someone quoted me a price at 3:50 that's what I'm going to pay. I'm not paying anymore at the time of service because you want to change your mind. I told her all I brought was 350 and I wasn't paying that amount that she wrote on that paper. What I'm starting to notice Vegas is very greedy. read more

Destiny is one of the best aestheticians I know. My skin wasn't the greatest before I met her. After a few facials (and changes to my skin care routine with Aveda products) my skin no longer had bad breakouts, dry patches, and spotty redness. It looks more balanced, glowing, and happy. I can't thank her enough for everything she's done for my skin. I no longer have to hide behind makeup and have more youthful and healthy looking skin. I'm not one for tattoos and was a little nervous about microshading my brows. Destiny walked me through it a couple times and made sure I was comfortable before, during, and after. They fade after a few weeks, even then, they still look so full and natural. It's so nice to not have to fill them in everyday. If you're on the fence about it, just do it. This place is like the super cuts of the hair salon field! I called and made an appointment for my daughter to have a full head of highlights and a retouch on her partial. As you can see from the photos below, she came in already with a great base blonde. I drop my daughter off and she went in and showed the hairstylist Georgie her Inspo pic (below). When I arrived to pick my daughter up, I saw her sitting in the front through the window and could tell right away that her hair was darker than when she originally came in. When I walked in, I spoke with the receptionist and explained to her that that was not what we came in for, and that her hair was a completely different color from what she came in with or what she asked for. She wasn't quite sure what to do so she called her manager, the hairstylist Georgie was in the back the whole time and never decided to come out and speak to me. When I asked the receptionist how much it was she stated $285. I was originally quoted $135 for the service we asked for. Come to find out that Georgie decided to do add-ons with my 15 year-old daughter without consulting me, such as a botanical something. Which would have been an easy phone call to confirm if the paying adult was ok with or not. I spoke with the manager, Jessica, on the phone and she apologized and said they wouldn't charge me for the additional services because they shouldn't have asked a 15-year-old to authorize those Additional services. She quickly set me up with an appointment on Sunday with a gal name Maddie, who she assured me would try to get my daughter back as close to her original hair as possible. When I showed up for the appointment today, Maddie stated that all she could do to get my daughter back to her original hair was to bleach it, but that she didn't feel comfortable doing that because her hair was too compromised at this point. She put a clarifying shampoo in which got rid of some of the brass and took her a little lighter, but yet still not even what she originally came in with. I thank you Maddie for having to try and correct your co-workers mess, and having to deal with me being upset, since it wasn't your doing. I emailed Jessica (the manager) and told her I felt as though I should have a full refund as they couldn't even get my daughter back to what she was and now I need to pay another stylist to correct their mistakes. Jessica's response is below: "I'm sorry to hear that you feel we missed the mark so significantly. Being that we already discounted your daughter's service by $165, we will not be willing to offer a refund. Georgie was clear about the expectations and costs of Layla's original service and the requirement of an additional process. We now understand that Layla is under the age of 18, and not old enough to agree to the cost and process on your behalf, but you also were not present to make a budget restrictions known to the stylist. We are nothing but transparent about our pricing and while I respect your frustrations, I believe you will have better luck at another salon." Yes, Jessica, you are absolutely right that I would be better off in the future with a different salon. I'm not sure what would make you think we would ever come back to your salon again if this is how you treat your customers. Also, how do you feel as if you refunded me when it was only for Services that I never approved? And you respect my frustrations because you know that your hairstylist made a huge mistake. First impression when walking into the salon it is very clean and nicely set up. The front desk people are friendly and always seem to greet me when I walk in, I really like the layout of the salon. Bre is my stylist and I've been going to her for 5 years now. I change my hair color quite often. I use a lot of bright fashion colors and she always knows exactly what to do so my hair is never damaged. She is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She will tell me if something I want isn't quite possible if I want my hair to continue to be healthy. Sometimes I ask her to just surprise me with the color combo because I trust that she will always make me look and feel beautiful when I I leave the salon. She hasn't disappointed me yet. I always leave the salon feeling great! I not only go there to get my hair done but I also go to get the products I need to keep my hair healthy. I'll be honest, i'm not one to usually write poor reviews but this haircut/experience left me heartbroken. I scheduled a same day appointment for a haircut. I got there 10 minutes before my appointment started and someone at the front desk said the girl doing my hair was running about 10/15 minutes behind. I was understanding because it was same day scheduling and bc sometimes things happen. The girl doing my hair came out and said it'd be a little longer and that she'd give me a deep conditioning treatment. I was appreciative and thought that would be great which is why I stayed. I ended up waiting 50 minutes but didn't leave because I had already driven there, waited, and thought the hair treatment added would make up for the time. When I finally sat in the chair I explained that I wanted it cut shorter. The girl doing my hair asked questions and explained what she would do which was cut/layer it. I'm usually very go with the flow in a salon because I let the professional do what they were trained to, but I feel like this time that was a mistake. As she started the hair wash and did the deep conditioning, it was literally a 2 minute treatment. Which in my opinion, doesn't compensate a new client having to wait 50 minutes for an appointment while still paying $70 before tip for just a cut and un-styled hair. I am never one to look for a handout, but as a new customer I felt like that was bad business. Next we get into the haircut and in all honesty I know very little about the process. The only thing that stressed me out was the amount of hair that was being removed with the sheers. I thought 'okay maybe this is to blend the layering and the cut bc it's so short' but I literally left there with gaping holes in my head and an uneven cut overall. I had communicated to the girl doing my hair that my hair has come such a long way bc it was previously damaged with bleach to the point that my hair fell out. Due to the way she layered/sheered my hair, it almost looks like it did when all my hair fell out. It was a three year+ process to get my hair healthy again and now I am back at square one. I wrote this post because i'm obviously upset about my experience, but to also give ladies a heads up on being very vocal to your hairdresser about 'thinning' hair out, or your hair will end up like mine. I gave two stars because the salon itself is lovely and the workers were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, i was dissatisfied with how they handled the hairdresser running behind and with the overall cut. I added photos and a before picture for reference. good luck on your hair experiences. What a great experience. The two girls up front were really sweet and told me about their current promotion when I checked in. They Offered me a tea (Aveda makes a tea and it's delicious! I bough some of the loose-leaf to take home after my appointment). My service was with Makayla on January 6. She gave me the best blow-out for my birthday. My appointment took about 45 minutes and I have a lot of fine hair. She was able to get it super bouncy and soft. It lasted me 3 days before I needed to wash again. All she used on my hair was the Botanical Repair Leave-in and was able to get my hair so full, I did wind up picking up a travel size to take home and I'll be getting the full size at my color appointment in a couple weeks. The salon is beautiful and so clean! There was a girl there who seemed to be doing all the cleaning, which feels extra nice during COVID. She was wiping stations, spraying the counters and sweeping. I'm a bit of a plant lady and loved the plants around the salon & little propagations near some of their retail displays. So cute! I also fell in love with the ambiance of The District. My appointment was in the evening and as it got darker, you could see The District illuminate from the main salon window. Looking forward to my next visit at this beautiful little salon. read more

As long as you do not ever have a problem at the salon, you'll be fine. I took my daughters to get their hair cut by Cassandra. Cassandra has been cutting my and my mother-in-law's hair for about a year now and we've always loved her and her cuts. So naturally, I expected a good outcome for my daughters, who are 8 and 12 years old. My eldest was unsure about how exactly she wanted her hair cut. We went back and forth with Cassandra. While I was standing there, nothing was completely decided. She was going to remove some length and then we'd see if we were happy with that or take more off. I stepped away to sit down because it was busy there and there was not a lot of room for me to stand there, and I did not want to hover or be in the way. I assumed that as with any other time I've had my daughters' hair cut, the stylist would check back in with me for the final decision before proceeding. Well, she did not - she says my 12-year-old daughter approved the cut that she proceeded to give her. My daughter says she did not, and regardless, it was not her decision to make. I should have been consulted before the final cut, as she is a minor. Cassandra maintains that I should have been the one to come back over to give approval and that she assumed I was allowing my young daughter to make the final decision. The cut turned out horribly - see photos. Who the hell would ever approve this cut? How could a stylist feel good about giving anyone this cut? I asked her to fix it, and she said she was too busy and we'd have to come back. We settled on a time for us to return that evening and AFTER I had left and was in my car, she called to tell me that she would have to charge me $35 for the correction to the cut that I had already paid $55 + tip for and asked if that was okay. She said that basically, I was asking for a whole new haircut, and that charging me $35 was actually a deal. I told her that was unheard of in my experience and that it was not really okay, but as I was driving and flustered, I said fine and we'd see her later. I figured we could talk it over in person when we came back. This is not how any professional styling experience has ever gone for me or anyone I know. It is always understood that the stylist will give you a haircut that you're happy with, or work to make things right. My younger daughter had a cut by a different stylist here a year ago and we weren't quite happy with it, so the stylist asked us to come back that evening so that she could fix it, which she did, at NO ADDITIONAL COST. When we returned that evening, I approached her calmly with a request to discuss. She took me out back. I continued trying to explain why I did not think I should have to pay for the fix, but she cut me off and started berating me about how I was wrong. She got more and more heated as she blamed me entirely for the haircut fail while taking zero responsibility, even though she had apologized early in the day for not following up with me and making assumptions. She told me I had agreed to the haircut, which I said was not true, and I asked if I could please speak, and she got even angrier and started yelling at me, telling me that she was not going to let me say to her that she had done anything wrong. I asked her multiple times to please calm down so we could talk it through and she refused, yelled louder, and became incredibly rude and disrespectful. I told her she was being very rude to me and she said "that's because I am DONE!" and then told me to leave and that she would not be fixing my daughter's hair. My husband and I called the salon the next day and spoke with Jessica, the manager, who decided that she was going to take Cassandra's word as the whole truth, and would not even hear my side of the story. There of course were a number of inaccuracies and untruths in her story. When I asked Jessica if she thought it was okay for Cassandra to VERBALLY ABUSE me, she said she thought it was an appropriate response to me requesting not to be charged for the follow-up cut. WHAT??! I am sorry but it is NEVER appropriate to verbally abuse a client because of a minor disagreement when the client is trying to calmly discuss a resolution with you. NEVER. This is very bad business. Very unprofessional. Terrible customer service! Jessica finally conceded to refunding me for my daughter's cut + tip, but maintained that she would stand by her stylist and was fine with our entire family no longer being clients. Regardless of the differences in our sides of the story, THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT CLIENTS!!! But they don't care about keeping clientele happy. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS SALON. You have been warned. Read the other 1-star reviews and you will see that I am not the only client treated badly by this salon. They have loads of good reviews because like I said, as long as you do not ever have a problem at the salon, and never push back on a hair service, you'll be fine. This is why I don't trust hair salons. I attached a picture of my long hair and color before I went to the salon and after. I HATE leaving bad reviews but I had such a terrible experience that I just can't ignore it. I went last week to this establishment for a hair color and haircut. My ends were damaged and my roots were not the same color as the rest of my hair and I wanted to correct this issue. I had a consultation prior to this appointment and I explained what I wanted, when I got to my appointment the girl that did my hair had no time to do the cut because apparently there was some miscommunication and they didn't book my appointment correctly, they didn't even save the notes from my consultation, she was rushing and I had to leave with my hair wet because she didn't have time to dry it. She explained that she didn't have the time but still not a good experience so I just booked another appointment for a haircut. Once my hair was dry I realized my color was terrible uneven, worse that when I got there so I called and they said they were going to fix it free of charge to which I accepted. Today I went back and she dyed it again, the color is terrible, not at all what I wanted, too dark and still uneven even though I showed her several pictures and told her that I wanted my hair copper and on the lighter side, I asked her to cut 4 inches of my hair to get rid of the split ends and I don't know what she thinks 4 inches are but my hair now is too short and hair cut is extremely uneven too. Long overdue review of this unprofessional salon. I had the unpleasant experience of having DELLA work on my hair Jan 3rd. I explained In detail with her what my goal was and what had previously been done to my hair. I showed her examples of what I wanted and I specifically told her that I hate how dark my roots are and wanted them lightened and blended. Four hours of wasted time later, my hair looked exactly the same as when I Walked in. I was clearly upset and didn't like the job she did. Instead of DELLA being a professional and standing behind her work, she said nothing about fixing it. Unfortunately I did pay and tipped her. The next day I went to a different stylist at a different salon who knew what she was doing and had impeccable customer service. After paying twice to have my hair done I contacted the salon and talked to Jennifer who was just as unprofessional as DELLA. I sent pics of DELLAS work to JENNIFER and the pics of my hair after it was fixed. Jennifer's condescending tone in her conversation and emails was so unprofessional and off putting. 50 bucks is what they refunded which was tip and the cost of a hair treatment , which is not much compared to the overall cost I had to pay to have it done again and the time wasted. Money and time aside, it's more about The lack of customer service and the unprofessional way the staff dealt with this. Including the receptionist that had attitude when speaking to me when I was dealing with Jennifer, not her. My haircut was awful. If you have naturally curly hair (I'm 3b), then don't go here. They have no idea how to cut curly hair differently from straight hair. I'm mixed race, and I figured shelling out $70+ on a haircut would ensure my stylist knew what she was doing, but no. The whole experience felt like they wanted to get me in and out as quickly as possible. This haircut and experience was a waste of money and time.
