I believe that Icon Realty was involved in hacking my bank account. I leased an apartment in the heart of las olas/Fort Lauderdale from December 2016, from Atlantic loft llc. I agreed to pay a 2 month security deposit of $2400 as well as first, last and security (pretty standard) got my key, etcétera. After 2 different companies handling our property, ICON Realty came in January 2020 and revamped property by implementing a ***online payment service ***** aka , a way to get into your bank account. I questioned who this is and why I had to use this system to pay, not only to be replied with "It is our new system and you have to use it, you must pay rent this way or consult your attorney" As I went ahead and used it but decided to not renew my upcoming ending lease of 3/30/20. I emailed, texted and explain that I would not be renewing the lease because not only I don't trust the payment system, I had a very difficult time communicating with Benjamin (who by the way runs the whole thing). He ignored all my calls and the ones he replied, he did very rudely. I promptly moved out on schedule and handed him the keys along with my original lease agreement. He took the keys and said that He did not have a refund and I would need to wait 30 days to receive one on the mail. Now 30 days later. My bank account has been HACKED and bank investigated the multiple charges leading back to that January rent payment. I have been getting random withdrawals from different wiring entities totaling over 1k so far. Due to covid19, I can not yet file a claim in court. And the reason I am writing this is to WARN tenants and landlords about companies like this! I am attaching the refund check I just received. What a joke! See you in court.

They assumed the lease on my condo 3/4 of the way into my 2 years there. They never came out to the property once to check on the condition. My owners lived in Venezuela and paid no attention to the property. My realtor took pictures of the condition when I moved in but things didn't get done. (Keep in mind pictures that clearly reflect it needed to be painted, the prior tenant was there 4 years...wear and tear????) I was traveling for business and was told my neighbor that there something posted on my door. (very professional right? Defamation of Character????) It was a notice of non renewal of lease. I was told that they were going to sell the property. When they did the move out inspection none of their representative were present. They sent 2 young cronies that did not speak English. They pictures of every inch of the condo. (They must get kick backs from the security deposits they manage to steal). I had to chase down my security deposit. I arrives about 25 days later Fed Ex. They kept $800 of my $1400 deposit. There was an "INTENT TO IMPOSE CLAIM AGAINST SECURITY DEPOSIT-SECTION 83.49 F.S." notice enclosed. They charged me $250.00 for the repair of a microwave plastic part. (the microwave is circa 1980's) $400.00 for painting!!!!!!(yes I am fuming!), $60.00 for a light (no explanation, there were bulbs missing in the bathrooms), 20.00 for a toilet holder (which just needed a now molly bolt) and $60.00 for blinds that just needed repair) Marcela should be losing her license! I was going to fight this in small claims court because it is the principal. I've decided that they do not deserve my time. I am a very busy person. I will however do everything to get the word out on the streets about how this company actually operates. I am contacting the better business bureau next. I suggest others should do the same.
